I've been playing the Japanese version for a while now Its RE4 with prettier graphics. There are moments where having two people come into play, but its more "defend me while I do this" senarios instead of "I take this path and you take that one". Oh, and there are plenty of exploding barrels. (Why are there so many of those anyway??!!) There are the same jewel puzzles and obtain key quests. Enemies drop ammo when they die. You can cover doors with bookshelves. You can shoot out doors to shoot the baddies behind them.

If you loved RE4 you'll love this one.

I want to add that Nintendo was never willing to jump all the way in the deep end of the 'core' pool. They always tempered their efforts in some way. They offered a broadband adapter but only sold it through their web site. Then only one game went online while another allowed local lan play. They fought for exclusive content but didn't back it up with the advertising to bring in the masses.

Its the same thing this time, only they have a killer app in their pocket.

And I'm not knocking Nintendo, just saying that I think Nintendo is doing the same they've always done. The microphone could have allowed for a headset along with the whole room device. Friend codes could be something turned on and off. They take a cool idea and then knock it back a few notches so it may be functional but limited in scope.

Anyway, I remember Perfect Dark and being hyped for the game. Turok 3 was also about the same time. And I also got a Dreamcast for under $100 thanks to some rebate thing. I've never loved gaming as much as I did during the N64 period.

Thanks for posting that interview. I've been reading Matt's work since the N64 days and never really considered him a 'star' or whatever, but I am envious of the contacts he has. This just does go to show that most people do have humble beginnings.

Well, I'm saddened to see Bill make this decision. I'm also saddeded to see Mario banned. I would be saddened to see Ian banned or leave as well.

We were all drawn here for a common interest. If someone doesn't share that interest anymore, they really shouldn't hang around though no one has the right to ask someone to leave without good reason.

Is this the price of (Nintendo's) success? When we felt the under dog, we grouped together under a flag of solidarity. Now its different. Somehow. We've lost posters. We've lost staff. We've lost our soul?

I'm sad tonight. I'd like to think that we'll pull out and turn around, but I believe its a downward spiral.

I too hope something comes from this disclosure. That last creature makes me want to draw it. A fantastic idea, and seemed to be the most polished aspect of the video with light reflection and flopping breasts (seemed like breasts anyway).
