Is XB meant as an emoticon or as XBox here? Somehow MS products always make nice emoticons (XP)

If you want something with an X in the name get X2 - The Threat, the "true successor to Elite".

Ian: Look at Lik-Sang, they have a 64MB USB memcard. Use the USB-plug to copy data to and from the card.

With that Linux trick you wouldn't need XBoxLive for Online games, either and could add mods and other addons for it. Heck, the first UT2004 addon playermodels are ready by now!

I think it's the mood of the cover. It basically says "don't buy me, I'm a cheap low-quality multiplatform release riddled with bugs!" Yes, I know, the game is good, but that's the message the cover gives me. It's the same with a lot of other games, though with almost all of them it's true.

Bill: Well, it means she'll probably never get her world domination.

It's back to crappy low-poly render avatars for me now! Gotta defend that "worst taste in avatar choice" award.

Well, here the GBA and GC get shoved into the toys departement, so it's not hard to find those while looking for games. The Atari one is the only one I've seen, though.

The easiest way to get it on the XBox: Install Linux, use the Linux build of UT2k4.

Termin8: A downed enemy is not necessarily dead, but unable to participate in a fight. If you shoot somebody bad enough so he cannot move anymore he doesn't need to be dead to pose no further threat.

The screenshots on the NoE page look like the ones from Falcon Densetsu. I'd guess it's the same game.

Well, as long as you don't claim I dislike online for the same reason... I didn't like it long before I even knew the Gamecube existed.

Bill: Cute is the wrong word. Megalomanic, hyperkinetic Dr. Frankenstein is more fitting. Mad scientists bent on world domination are rare nowadays, though, so maybe she's worth keeping around.

The SP isn't that bad, I never had any problems wth it. When I see the amount of scratches on the surface I'm happy it protects the screen so well.

SA: Play Uprising. Imagine that map on the second screen.

General Chat / RE: Is it money or software thats the root to success
« on: February 15, 2004, 09:20:34 PM »
Money doesn't make success, it IS success. Success is making money from your product, if it fails to make money it's a failure. You cannot be successful while making zero money (or even losing), the market isn't that forgiving. The root of success is whatever is good enough to make people give you money. As a scam the Phantom is a real success, as a console the XBox is a real failure. Remember, the mediocre live the longest.

According to Lik-Sang this is their most imported japanese game.
Err, didn't Super say something about the complexity being in the counters rather than the combos? There's no mention of that fighting style in this review...
