This was expected, but no LEGO City Undercover 2 still hurts.

Does PSN have a note system for friends? I see some user names on there, and I'm, like, "who the fook is this guy?" I'd like to put a note attached to names and be, like, "This is so-and-so from so-and-such."

I beat the PS3 version, but I picked up the Wii U game via a trade just because I wanted an excuse to play through it again and with the new mini-games. Does anyone have this game still? It's apparently hard to find people to play online via randoms.

General Gaming / Favorite winter wonderlands in games?

I'm going to post two, and then you guys and gals can post how ever many you want! If you can post pictures and a short description for your choices, great. If not, that's okay!

Phendrana Drifts - Metroid Prime

From the chill music to the idyllic landscape, I adore Phendrana Drifts every time I visit it. It helps that it's an area from one of my favorite games of all time!

Mount Wario - Mario Kart 8

Without a doubt my favorite wholly new track in Mario Kart 8, Mount Wario is a blistering fast ride down the titular mountain, starting at a drop from a plane onto the summit, through icy slopes, into a water-filled cavern, across the side of a dam in an anti-gravity segment, through a heavily wooded canyon, and then down a ski course to the finish. I love the progression of this place, and I try to always choose it when I see it online!

What's the difference between General Chat and this forum? Topics seem to be random and/or with purpose on both lately.

General Gaming / Re: What is your most recent gaming purchase?
« on: February 01, 2015, 05:21:48 PM »
quick question, I thought someone said Metroid Prime Trilogy was supposed to be for sale on Wii U today did I miss something or do they release games latter in the day?

* We Love Golf! (Wii) - Another $2 purchase. A co-worker used to swear this was a great game, so finally decided to give it a shot.

Oh my God, it is! Great price for that game! It's like Mario Golf, but without the Mushroom Kingdom characters and only the generic human characters. The courses are well designed, unlockable Capcom costumes are awesome (though two of them were tied to online), the controls are solid (though you don't swing in the traditional sense with the Wii Remote), and the music is fantastic!

Lucario, Rosalina, Sheik, Toon Link, Bowser and Love Potion y!

Oh wow!

Liking this game, but the levels have some "gotcha" moments that no one could see coming, resulting in death most of the time.

See, now that's a valid question. Since they killed the Wi-Fi Connection, literally every post on those sections is irrelevant.

I thought my question was valid. ;_;

NWR Feedback / I think some forums are a little underutilized.

Hello.

I don't see the Gameplay Strategy and Hardware & Wi-Fi Support forums get much activity, and I didn't know if this made the entire NWR forums feel dead. Could questions relating to these two subjects not just be placed in Nintendo Console Gaming, Nintendo Handheld Gaming, or General Gaming? I think it would tidy the forums up, and make NWR look more inviting instead of looking weak in activity at certain portions of the site.

Sorry if this is not a smart idea. I apologize if it is!

I finished Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal last night, and I think it's a by-the-numbers platformer. All four characters are gathered so soon in the game that it makes the need to return to levels needless if you're just collecting everything, that is. I would have preferred the characters to unlock at a more stretched out pace. Anyhow, I don't think there's anything fundamentally wrong gameplay-wise. It's just that the experience is so quick so fast, much like the speedy hedgehog himself, that it makes the $40 price tag really hard to bite down on.

I have a bunch of new stuff (read: old that I'm playing for the first time) that I'm playing.

Ape Escape: On the Loose is my first entry in the series, and I'm really digging it. Liking the level design, the puzzles involved in getting and finding the monkeys, and since I've never played an Ape Escape game, I can't say I miss two analog sticks, as I didn't grow up playing the games.

I finished Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal last night, and I'll post my thoughts in the other thread.

I'm also skate-first into Jet Set Radio HD on the Vita. Somewhat frustrating to make it to higher locations (i.e. falling at the last possible moment, requiring you to make your way all the way up again is annoying), but it's fun overall.

This revisit of your review, Neal, was a really nice read. Made me want to play the game and I never finished it, despite owning it. A double thank you to you!

The important thing to do for Nintendo is to make the Wii U profitable, if they haven't already. A new console may just start a new cycle of losses for Nintendo, so it might be in the company's best interest to ride out the Wii U for as long as possible.

Ah, Star Fox Assault... I really dug the Star Fox team's look in there. I wish Smash Bros. used that model instead of the dorky Command one.

Anyway, Assault is a game I really enjoyed. Held no figurative candles to 64, but it was a nice game with excellent music, nice spectacle, and a robust multiplayer mode.

As for Star Fox on Wii U, remember that Captain Toad and many games like it had an E3 trailer in the past and then released that very year. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new trailer and a debut demo at E3 with a release in the fall.

I'm going to beat Fantasy Life's campaign tonight. I'm going to continue the side content that makes up the meat of the game. That'll be my 550th review for my site, which makes me wonder what I've been doing with my life. ...Nah!

I'm also completing the final contracts in Killzone: Mercenary. They're the same levels as the campaign, but these contracts have different objectives you have to do in one of three categories: Precision, Covert, and Demolition.

LittleBigPlanet 3 is a pretty big disappointment and continues to spread my dissatisfaction with Sony. The game was obviously rushed to launch in the holiday seasons, glitched levels, buggy transitions, and more. I'm excited to create my own levels, but I hope there's no glitches with the level creator.

One of my first and still favorite RPGs. Can't wait to get this!

Nintendo sat in my seat in my tenth grade geometry class. Little bitch.

Is it true that the story can be played without killing anything? I would imagine that's partially true for the Lives that don't have anything to do with combat. '

Anyhow, I play one chapter of the story and then do a lot of extra Life-related content so I don't burn myself out on the game. There's only so much dialogue I can sit through at one time, even if I do find it clever and charming at times.
