the order is based on money made. Star Fox sold 27,000, but 10,000 were from the free bundle deal.

« on: April 26, 2003, 01:07:39 PM »
there is a sticky thread at the top where you can ask what game to get. this thread will get lock because it's a poll.

I would go with Skies of Arcadia.

I've heard that the game is an exclusive version of Serious Sam. I think that the publisher is Rock Star.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)
« on: April 25, 2003, 03:17:03 PM »
two characters do not equal two players. You control both characters. When you press the fire button, instead of a shell coming out of the kart in the old games, you will see the person at the back throw a weapon.

it could be a typo. The X and C are pretty close together.

Nintendo Gaming / I know what "Game Zero" is!!!

" We have no concrete proof Perfect Dark still belongs to Rare "

Quote

Dear Scribes,
As a loyal Nintendo/Rare user I think you should let me in a little info. I'm not writing to whine about your divorce to Nintendo, although the promise of a Perfect Dark sequel was one of the reasons I bought the GameCube over Xbox. The question I have is whether or not the Perfect Dark sequel will still be out for GameCube (I wasn't sure what company retained the rights to that particular francise). I am hoping to see the title for my console soon, as you pushed it back to the impossibly far-away year of 2004 and I think all the GameCube users waiting in vain deserve an answer so we can cash-in our consoles for an Xbox. So let me know so I can get on with my life, a life devoid of Joanna Dark.
The Smallville Hero

Come on, it's not as if we've left anyone hanging with regards to the series' future platform. We never made any promises about a sequel to PD during our brief span of GameCube development, and while we do retain the rights to the franchise, the fact that we're now a fully-fledged part of Microsoft Game Studios pretty much rules out the possibility of us bringing any titles to non-Xbox systems (bar GBA). Yes, I can see where you're coming from, but Rare didn't change systems just to spite you personally, you know.

my guess is that FFCC was it. Hopefully, something new on Monday.

you are dead wrong.

1) GameZero is not a first person shooter

2) Rare owns the rights to Perfect Dark

Nintendo Gaming / anyone notice Nintendo releases on GC vrs N64?
« on: April 24, 2003, 04:47:22 PM »
The switch from carts to cds didn't make games easier to program. The architect of the GameCube made it easier. Actually Nintendo is slacking.

as Jan 2003 there were 12 GameCube games published by Nintendo.
in the same amount of time, Nintendo published 14 games for the n64.

You just don't notice the gaps because it is filled with 3rd party software.

I'm just pointing out that the shadow Link is from Soul Calibur. Of course the announcement that is suppose to be revealed isn't Soul Calibur.

if you look at the pics, you can have more than 100 pikmin out at a time.

The Link in the Nintendo scan is Soul Calibur II Link

What is really impressive is if you read the article. Factor 5 is going all out. This game could be game of the year material.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo has something even bigger...
« on: April 24, 2003, 07:06:31 AM »
I'm surprised that they showed screen shots of Mario Kart. I expected Mario Kart to be their flagship title at E3 so they must have something that is bigger than Mario Kart. The only thing bigger than Mario Kart would be Donkey Kong or a brand new title. My guess that they will show new titles (after giving away their franchisees, EAD must have something new), and focus on third party games (Sonic Hero, Billy Hatcher, Viewtiful Joe, etc.).

TalkBack / Mario Kart on GameCube Details
« on: April 23, 2003, 11:04:45 PM »
You control both characters.

I think that the two characters changes a lot to Mario Kart. If you have a team with koopa troopa and bowser, you can use koopa troopa where there is a lot of turns and then switch over to bowser to get max speed on the straight aways. Also, each character has their own items which adds more to the strategy.
