Capcom shipped 1 million consoles not sold.

NPD extrapolates their data to account for the missing Wal Mart Numbers.

It doesn't reveal any new info, but Nintendo added Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes to their E3 page. It is good Nintendo is updating their E3 page, but hopefully they will start adding media like movies or screen shots.

A VGA box allows any source to play on a monitor.

The VGA cable mod using the component cable only works with Progressive Scan games.

I don't think that CVG is reliable but they are reporting that Custom Robo GC will be at E3.  The game will have LAN. Custom Robo series hasn't been stateside so it is unknown if the game will come to the states.

edit: here are some links for those unfamiliar with Custom Robo

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
« on: May 01, 2003, 10:45:58 AM »
I saw this earlier. I think that the boxart came from gamestop.com.

We have a release date, title, and boxart, but no screen shots from the game. Weird. Has there every been a game that was unveiled (shown in game screen shots) just one month before release? Tube Sliders was close, but it got delayed a couple months.

Nintendo Gaming / OFFICIAL Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes Discussion

I can't believe that I didn't see this coming

If you look at games that I personally find very appealing, like Metal Gear Solid, they have huge amounts of flash and they've got the content as well. So I think that's the direction we're going to go in next time.

Nintendo Gaming / Worldwide Million Sellers
« on: April 30, 2003, 08:17:02 PM »
March NPD numbers are out so time to update. I decided to be consistent and not mix Dengeki and famitsu data. I will only use NPD data for USA, famitsu data for Japan, and chart attack for UK. *March 2003 NPD added

World Wide Million Sellers
Super Smash Bros. Melee - Jap = 1,202,606 USA* = 1,478,373 UK = 145,495 Total = 2,826,474
Super Mario Sunshine -  Jap = 677,440 USA* = 1,578,001 UK = 211,935 Total = 2,467,376
Mario Party 4 -  Jap = 825,536 USA* = 656,577 UK = 55,964 Total = 1,538,077
Zelda: Wind Waker - Jap = 601,227 USA = 826,352 Total = 1,427,579
Luigi's Mansion -  Jap = 348,918 USA = 841,827 UK = 140,733 Total = 1,331,478
Animal Crossing -  Jap = 580,553 USA* = 432,977 Total = 1,013,530

Will be there soon
Metroid Prime - Jap = 57,997 USA* = 881,721 UK = 58,973 Total = 998,691
Pikmin -  Jap = 502,996 USA = 459,432 Total = 962,428

Could be there if I had Europe numbers
Stars Wars: Rogue Leader - USA = 688,013 UK = 160,054 Total = 848,067
Resident Evil -  Jap = 267,470 USA = 421,738 UK = 93,285 Total = 782,493
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle -  Jap = 192,186 USA = 562,942 Total = 755,128
Star Fox Adventures -  Jap = 259,067 USA* = 477,528 Total = 736,595
Resident Evil 0 -  Jap = 311,870 USA = 269,012 UK = 36,321 Total = 617,203

Nintendo Gaming / Star Fox Armada: MIA
« on: April 30, 2003, 07:52:52 PM »
It seems that Nintendo will focus on multiplayer (LAN) games at E3. Which is good since Smash Bros. and Mario Party 4 have been GameCube top sellers. I think that more LAN games will be announce.

Nintendo Gaming / TRSTS NPD Sales Thread
« on: April 30, 2003, 05:31:07 PM »
In one of the many analyst reports, I forgot which one, it said PS2 and XBox were down a certain percent from Feb 2003 and Nintendo stayed the same.

Quote

The new Zelda game set a Nintendo record with more than 600,000 copies pre-sold to consumers before its March 24 launch date, and retailers now are quickly burning through the entire initial North American shipment of 1.1 million games. In the same period, sales rates for Nintendo GameCube hardware have jumped 20 percent.

It is unclear what is "same period". First, I thought it was 20% from Feb. Now, it seems they are talking about the period after Zelda's launch, which is March 24. The day Zelda launch could have seen a 20% rise from last weeks numbers.

Nintendo Gaming / Chance for punchout GC
« on: April 30, 2003, 05:22:56 PM »
Punchout was great. The chances of Punchout GC is pretty slim. Nintendo IRD makes the Punchout series, but hasn't made a game since 96. They mostly focus on hardware stuff. Nintendo could do what they did with another IRD game, Pilotwings, and give it to a 3rd party developer or NST.

Nintendo Gaming / TRSTS NPD Sales Thread
« on: April 30, 2003, 02:19:28 PM »
they were unit sales.

here is what the hardware sales should look like. I used percent growth to get the numbers (% of feb numbers).

PS2 - 406,560
XBox - 163,510
GCN - 164,000

The official numbers should look pretty close. The GCN should beat the XBox by a slim amount.

Nintendo Gaming / SD Adapter
« on: April 30, 2003, 11:39:04 AM »
The game has to be programmed to use the SD Adapter. So it looks like you can't save from old games.

143
the announcement has to do with Nintendo's E3 site

Thursday or Friday, they added Final Fantasy and some other games
Monday, they added Billy Hatcher and Advance Wars 2

USA Hardware Sales for past Month (March): 7,174,898
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Nintendo: 3,106,148 | 43.2%
Gamecube: 1,027,576 | 14.3%
Game Boy Advance: 2,078,572 | 28.9%

Sony Playstation 2: 3,587,938 | 50%

Microsoft Xbox: 480,812 | 6.8%

The numbers don't make sense for hardware sales. I think that the numbers are total software sold for each system.

Nintendo Gaming / SD Adapter
« on: April 29, 2003, 09:03:21 PM »
I knew someone made an SD adapter thread but when I search for it, nothing came up.

more speculation: Quiter thinks that Final Fantasy CC may use the SD adapter because it will be release on the same day (July 18).
