You say that as if this past gen wasn't completely flooded by western shooters on the PS3/360...And what makes Microsoft and Sony any different
That's just it - they don't need to be different, because they have a bunch of 3rd party western developers that ARE different and that are hungry to develop games for their platforms. If Microsoft puts out a great Halo game, then that's awesome - but if they only put out crap, XBox One owners can still count on Bethesda and Bioware and other creative powerhouses to deliver their best work on the system. With the Wii U, it's looking more and more like owners will be completely dependent on Nintendo (or Sega *shudder*) to satiate their gaming desires, which is impossible given the varied tastes of gamers.
Think about trying to appeal to the next generation of young gamers (which every new console generation obviously needs to do) - how many 7-14 year olds are going to forego all sports and more mature games in order to play Mario, Sonic and Zelda, and how many of them have parents who would be willing to buy a Wii U in addition to one of the other expensive next-gen consoles? Those characters don't have the nostalgic appeal for younger gamers that they have for us old farts - and all the 'cool kids' are going to want to play the latest Madden or Call of Duty. Nintendo is in big trouble - big trouble indeed.
I just found the free DLC on the eShop. Three free pistols.Oi, those be my pistols, for that ye must walk the plank
I will call it XBone. As in X-Bone. As in MS is boning their customers. You stole my joke, now i will X-BONE you.
At what price point does the basic become the better deal.the black color alone is worth the price
I'm thinking I would have bought Nintendo Land either way, but I'd prefer it digitally.
I love the Deluxe digital promotion cause I buy all my games digitally so that's worth something.
I don't care about the stand cause I never use it and I bought energizer rechargable battery packs that come with their own charging cradle that also charges the GamePad so that's no added value.
8GB vs 32GB is meaningless since I bought a 2TB hard drive.
All in all, I'd say Nintendo Land disc is worth $30 to me (if someone offered me $35 for it I'd sell and buy it on the eShop) and I'll probably get $60 worth in eShop credit (between launch day of the Wii U and December 2014 when the program expires) from the Deluxe Digital Promotion so $350-$90=$260
If I could do it over again I'd buy this for $240 over a Deluxe for $350.
i think the Wii U came out with more games then thatNintendo 64 had an industry changing title in Super Mario 64, which alone puts it ahead of the Wii U's offerings. Wii U does have more games in its launch window (pathetic as it is) than the Nintendo 64, but the quality of original software for the Nintendo 64 was leaps and bounds ahead of what is on the Wii U. There was real innovation going on with the Nintendo 64, as developers were filled with new ideas moving from the mostly 2D sprite based games to fully 3D. The Wii U, which having some solid titles, doesn't do much differently than we've seen before in its games. The promises of many more titles within the launch window (which was original March 2013) is what stings for many as well.
I loved the N64, but its early offerings were weak. Yeah Mario 64 was great and Pilotwings 64 was good, but not much else for a LONG time. Looking at North America, these were the games out for N64 as of March 1997 (the same timeframe Wii U is at now):
Cruis'n USA
Killer Instinct Gold
Mario Kart 64
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Pilotwings 64
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Super Mario 64
Wave Race 64
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
Blast Corps
NBA Hangtime
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
The Wii U has been out 6 months, these are the N64 games out in North America after 6 months

Wii U does have more games in its launch window (pathetic as it is) than the Nintendo 64, but the quality of original software for the Nintendo 64 was leaps and bounds ahead of what is on the Wii U.and the n64 had a glorified tech demo in pilotwings. Even mario 64 can't salvage a launch lineup of two games.
If you are watching an LP, you probaly weren't going to/couldn't/wouldn't buy/play it in the first place or have already brought it and watching it for the unique experience the LPer offered. That is certainly why I watch an LP. So if I was never a possible sale in the first place, it was never determinatel to sales.my copy of kirby super star ultra says hi
Last time I was honest and didn't hold back with you, I got banned (even though you were the one attacking me). So I will hold back.
Haven't you ever noticed in sports that a guy retaliating is way more likely to be called for a foul than the guy who started it? If you think you're being bullied, report the offending post and don't respond with bullying of your own.

http://www.notenoughshaders.com/2012/07/02/the-rise-of-costs-the-fall-of-gaming/considering development costs vs reward, used games aren't very helpful to the industry as a whole
You're right. I mean, used games just allow gamers to play a wider variety of games instead of restricting their purchases to specific games they interest at specific price points.
Let's continue to assume that the used video game market is totally different from any other used product market.

I repeat'twas an enjoyable 240 hours, at any rate.can we at least try to be nice... lets be like Canadians eh?
Olimar? Also, are 101 Dalmatians the Pikmin of Disney?Nope, because you can only control 100 pikmin at a time. So they're missing one.
