In a real-world realistic looking game like GTA or GT, it wouldn't look out of place.  But like Ian said, in a fantasy setting, it'll look so out of place.  And might perhaps ruin the gaming experience.

A lot of you are forgetting something.  Most of the games listed are games that mostly appeal to hardcore gamers like us.  Plus many of them are old games.  Do you really think the casual/mainstream gamer care/gonna care about these games?  I think not.

How many mainstream gamers have heard of Radiant Silvergun?  My point exactly.

If that indeed ever did happen, I'm willing to bet roughly 97% will be PS2 ports.

Stupid Aussie gaming media.

First thing first.  Calm down MC.  You take some things too seriously and you might have a stroke one day...

Secondly, I was referring to Japanese VA in general.  Not just video games.  Yes, your argument still apply, and yes, my Japanese isn't good enough at this stage, but I know I can get a good idea whether either the Japanese or English VA is better if I can listen to both.

I've been wanting to play Planescape: Torment.

And what a big happy family they are!

Back on topic.  I agree w/ Bill.  I find Japanese VA to put more emotion into their work.

Same with me, Ian.  I've been thinking of buying a DS after the first price cut too.  It really depends what games are available during the first few months.

USD$180 = AUD$250.  A bit too pricey for a handheld to me.

*raises hand*

I have and the original Grandia and Skies is better. If anyone disagrees, they are wrong.

I happen to find the latter better looking.  But it still looks like a cheap plastic device.

General Gaming / RE: MGS2: Substance PC version
« on: July 13, 2004, 08:54:42 PM »
What is there that needs to be translated?

Dearest Genome Soldier: Having a wonderful time, wish you were here. With love, Solid Snake:  MGS2 sucks.

Plain and simple.

ADDED:  Has anyone come across any bad bugs in the PC version?  In the Tanker section, after Otacon tells Snake to take 4 pics of Metal Gear Ray, when gameplay resumes the game crashes after about 1 second.  I've tried many times (even skipping the cutscenes and codec if that made a difference).  The game successfully didn't crash once, but haven't been lucky since.  It crashes at the same point all the time and sadly, there's no patch that fixes the bug.  Has anyone came acorss this and know a way around it?

I'm hoping it'll include pictochat too.  If so, I'll be one happy boy!
