TalkBack / CNN Article on the State of Nintendo
« on: April 17, 2003, 04:41:10 PM »
first thing first, i'm glad nintendo are avoiding online gaming.

secondly, making games like mario easier?  puh-leeezzzzzzzzz.....mario sunshine was hard in places, and i liked it.  super monkey ball was insanely hard, and i loved it for it.  at least give us gamers a difficulty selection.

we don't play games b/c want them to be easy, we play them b/c we want a challenge...

TalkBack / Namco and Sega Merger?
« on: April 17, 2003, 03:50:25 PM »
i didn't think namco would come into the mix...

i love sega for their games (i love Shenmue I & II more than any other game), not for their business decisions.  namco does seem to be the best to merge with, however, i think nintendo would be the best b/c, like you guys stated, they can fill in the racing, RPG, and fighting genres.  although the chances of nintendo merging with sega is the same as me winning the lottery on my birthday!

if sega merges with EA or MS (god, i hope not), i'm going to hide in a corner for the rest of my life...

"Yello- Aw yeah"

Best song EVER to piss people off.

If it helps, that's the song Duffman has playing whenever he pops up in the Simpsons.

"AW YEAH, BUR BUR"

lol...monkey suits would piss my parents off.  seriously!  BTW, where can i download that song?

wow, a new game from Sonic Team.  i was worried that they would be changing their name to Port Team.

thanks for the link, grap3fruitman, this game does look interesting (and weird).  i always like original games.

I beg you, please...

General Chat / What was your first exposure to gaming?
« on: April 14, 2003, 04:57:13 AM »
hard for me to remember which game, but it was definitely computer games since my dad is a programmer and we've always had multiple computers in the house.  i think the first game i played was Dig Dug.  or it might have been multiple games on the old MicroBee (anyone remember that brand?) with green and black color screen.

these were the days...

Red is by far the hardest. Man, how long does it take to kill those red zombies?!
You chop off their head, their two arms, and they're still walking around. You have to slash them like another 10 times in the torso before they go down. Then theres the whole thing where they regrow their limbs! Arrgh!

I'm up to Roberto Bianchi at the moment. The guy moves like a sloth raised by snails. And with those red zombies, you have no chance.

i found out that red was the hardest path from the offical ED thread (after i chose it).  when i complete that, i think i'll give the blue path a go (it's the easiest, right?).  i'm getting a feeling maybe the reason i don't like the game as much as others did was b/c i chose the red path first and was getting piss off of having to keep chopping the zombies limbs off.  and yeah, it got hard in places.

i'm not too happy that i'm going to miss the best nintendo multiplayer nite in Sydney....but this wednesday nite will be a monkey ball nite for me and my friends. (guess you saw that coming!)

General Gaming / What is the best game not made by Nintendo?
« on: April 14, 2003, 03:29:08 AM »
isn't this a poll?  oh well...

mine has to be Shenmue II (DC)
i know this game isn't for everyone, but i loved it.  one word that would describe it would be "beautiful."  just beautiful.  no game has immersed me like Shenmue did.

i'm on the red path too, which is my first.  i can't believed i chose it as it is the hardest path.   i can't be bothered to do the other paths once i complete the red path.  this game isn't holding my interest.  the story is nice, but it fails to immerse me in.

BTW, Wario Ware Inc. is coming out in June.  hurrah!  anyone else looking forward to this crazy game?  i wanna pick my nose!
*picks nose*

bah... SOUL CALIBUR is the daddy and rocks on my and TV (err...parents TV)

as for my room, it is so small.  no room to fit a computer or TV.  heck, i could not fit a girl in if i invited her.  the only impressive things are my transformers toys, Duracell bunnys (drum and 1998 world cup, and they walk!) and joker hat.

but what about folks like me from Melbourne? *sobs*

my parents have a 76cm flat widescreen TV and i usually get the TV most of the time when i want to play games or watch foxtel.  isn't that enough to get you guys to come to melbourne?  ha!

BTW, Termin8Anakin, you aren't the only one without metroid prime.  i'm focusing on finishing a link to the past (up to the 7th crystal).  this game is brilliant and the first of my zelda marathon..lol

« on: April 08, 2003, 01:50:47 AM »
i've met plenty of famous aussie

i saw Allen Border at my school once.  even footballers worked there as teachers.  and i've met heaps, including Wayne Carey (years ago, it wasn't hard to know he was a jerk!)

i saw michael klim once.  heck, he went to my school (i think, better ask my sister)

Nintendo Gaming / How is Enter The Matrix going?
« on: April 08, 2003, 01:42:09 AM »
i saw the video clip from my PC Gamer mag CD.  (saved me from downloading it.  56k connection).  to me, it seems there isn't enough frames of animation b/w their moves and lacks linking frames.

i have fond memories of double dragon...

if they resurrect the game, i would like the gameplay in 2-D, maybe with 3-D graphics.  i'm old school

Nintendo Gaming / Super Monkey Ball 3
« on: April 08, 2003, 12:48:13 AM »
i really hope AV don't rush the game out...

i felt SMB2 was rushed b/c the main game wasn't as good as the first and some of the new mini-games were bad.

anyway, it's nice to see myself in yet another game!

LOL....that was funny...it has been a long long time since i played california games.

anyway, i played Metroid Prime at the GC kiosk over the weekend.  not too bad.  the controls are not that bad as people say.  didn't take long to get used to it.  i only got to play for 5 minutes, since there were people around me watching (funny, at first there were no one).  and i refuse to play zelda.  i don't want to spoil the game.

another thing, do any of you chat on icq, cause i would really like to be able to discuss games with other aussies. unfortunately, all of my best mates own ps2's so i have sh*t all to talk to them about. especially since they are hardly as keen on games as i am.

check one of my previous post about Trillian.  it's a great chatting program
