It is if you don't actually work for a respected website. Drizzt and I co-own a website but it's not like we can just get E3 passes.

Such hypocrisy.

Um what

Fairly certain they haven't gone to cartridges on home consoles because it isn't cost effective yet.

Actually, I find the fact that Azula using lighting when she went batshit crazy to be a plot hole in the original series, considering that Azula couldn't have kept a balance at her mental state. Zuko is exempt from this rule because he didn't do it the conventional way; he used Iroh's waterbender technique to only "redirect" the lightning.

And whether or not shipping is "good" is utterly subjective. You may hate it. The majority of the target audience does not. I personally am indifferent towards shipping. But you need to remember that Korra is intended for those who grew up watching the original series. And guess what the target audience was for Avatar? Boys, 6-11 years old. You need to deal with things like shipping and the bad fart jokes, simply because you are way out of the target audience range. You need to deal with that kind of stuff when watching a children's cartoon.

And I never thought the Avatar State activated during when the Avatar was in mortal danger, I thought it was when he was in a high emotional state: almost drowning after leaving the Air Nomads, once again in the Storm, Katara almost getting killed by that Earth General, etc. He learned how to control it later and that's why he did it as an adult in those flashbacks: he can control it at will. It isn't a plot device, it's just another reason why the Avatar is the strongest bender alive.

I agree that some of the writing isn't as sharp, but you can't fault the show that much, considering the main writer for the original series (Aaron Ehaz, who I consider to be the third creator of the show) left to do bigger and better things and the main writer for Korra is someone who was in charge of Avatar's lesser episodes.

Can you imagine the headlines if Nintendo stopped going to E3? My god, it'd be a freaking bloodbath.

Broodwars, it was never established that bloodbending could ONLY happen during a full moon. Just because Hama and Katara could do only do it during a full moon, no one else can? Come on. If that's the case, why aren't you complaining that none blind earth benders can learn metal bending and firebenders that haven't mastered their emotion can learn lightning bending?

And like I've already said, a great number of the fandom LOVES shipping. Just type in "korra" in tumblr and you'll see how much love shipping gets. So whether you like it or not, shipping is here to stay. And besides, that amount of shipping was very minimal this time and it's kind ridiculous that you had a problem with it.

And like Stogi has explained, the Avatar State is not a Duex Ex Machina. Perhaps if you've only seen The Legend of Korra, but it's been explained so well in the original series that the average viewer is expected to know what it is.

You keep looking for reason to dislike this show and it's, quite frankly, pretty sad.

It turns out the Jocks and the Bullies were right all along. Nerds are whiny little pukes and need to be beaten.

And after they get their ass kicked, they go online and act like an apparent badass because that's the only thing that can fill the pathetic void in their life.

I'm actually glad about this. Plug in a 32 GB SD card. Run out of space? Buy an external hard drive. Not enough cash for an expensive hard drive? buy a 32 GB USB drive. Easy peasy.

Dissent is the highest form of Fanboyism. So don't tell me to "love it or leave it".

I had a feeling that someone would accuse me of being a fanboy. Let me tell you something: I am not a fanboy. I've only ever owned one Nintendo system: The Wii. I've owned quite a bit more handhelds, but that's it. And I only own about five games for those consoles/handhelds. Now, let me look at my Sony collection...ah! I see about 30 games...hm...I wonder which company I'm more of a fanboy over, hm?

No. It's more likely that I like rooting for the underdog and that it takes a truly transparent person to notice the fact that while all three companies had fairly shitty conferences this year, Nintendo is the one that all internet commenters and news outlets concentrate on.

Nice try, bub.
(EDIT: Oops. Not what he meant. Oh well.)

bustin, I've personally seen people clamor for a new Zelda on websites like Kotaku on G4. Drizzt is right in his criticism of that complaint.

To me nostalgia is when you think Transformers is a good show until you actually go back a watch it as an adult and realize it sucked.  If something holds up as an adult then nostalgia is not affecting you.  If you want videogame examples of nostalgia for me I used to think Mortal Kombat was legitimatelly cool and now see it as embarrasingly stupid and immature (though in a funny way).  I used to think Goldeneye was an amazing game but now realize it's too dated, while Super Mario 64 looks terrible but is still good.

Isn't that the complete opposite of the definition of nostalgia? If we were to use your analogies, you would think that Mortal Kombat was legitemately cool back then and you'd still think that now, even if, by all intents and purposes, you SHOULD think it sucks. If something still holds up as an adult, it's likely that nostalgia IS affecting you.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been more annoyed with the Internet as a whole as I've been for the last week. If I read one more thing about how Nintendo is stupid and needs to die a horrible death, or how stupid their E3 was, or how the Wii U's controller is dumb etc., I'm gonna blow a gasket. I always had a feeling that the Internet was the vocal minority compared to everyone else, and now I have my proof.

I mean, at my school (which mostly has a population of gamers who own PS3's and 360's and use them only for CoD or Gears of War) they were excited and impressed by the Wii U. I'm sure this isn't much different in other parts of the country and world.

I don't care how bad the E3 was. I don't care that the 3DS Software Conference didn't show any new games. No one besides Nintendo know what's going on with the Wii U. The next two years will decide the fate of the Wii U and Nintendo as a whole. Instead of mindlessly bitching about it, I say that we calm our tits and play the waiting game.

(Disclaimer in case Insanolord decides to bitch: this wasn't completely directed towards the members of the NWR forums. Many of you have good points in why Nintendo failed this year. I have no other place of putting this so I decided to post it on these forums.)

Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't announced for Wii U, especially when Ubisoft is in love with the Wii U and the gameplay seems perfect for it.

Um, I don't even think that was a real game. It was there simply to supply the god-awful story in the video.
