It is cool that you guys got to meet up. You should come to PAX East one day, it is awesome. I would love the chance to say hi in person some time.

I can see from your shelf there are several more episodes of Zack's girls due on Swapnote. Awesome.

I have been saving up my coins for years waiting for something like this. I ordered it the first chance I got. Now I just have to hope nothing else cool comes out for a while.

Being very anti-Apple due to a horrendous customer service experience, I have not played many of these games. I did get addicted to the Facebook version of Jetpack Joyride though. I tend to drift in and out of it. I do wonder about the battery life on small mobile devices though. I am lucky to keep a working battery for a year in a cell phone. My first phone was an LG Voyager and after a year I finally bought an extended life battery for the thing so it would last the day. When I upgraded to my Droid 2 (R2D2 edition) the battery was great at first. A year later it could not last  hours. The cell phone guy gave me a new battery and is better, but if I play any games or check twitter for more than 10 minutes or so it dies. I wonder what Nintendo does that these other companies do not?

Put me in the camp of people who can not read the article at all. Has anyone outside of staff gotten to read it yet? I tried on both my Chrome browser and my wife's IE.

Anyway I would like to see a 3D Majora's Mask, it is one of my favorite Zelda games after Zelda II and The original LOZ. Windwaker would be nice too, but I do not have the love of that one that other people seem to have.

TalkBack / Re: The Great Pre-Wii U Backlog Saga
« on: July 19, 2012, 05:47:20 PM »
My backlog goes way back, too far to even consider. I have come to the realization that I will not be able to 100% most of the games I buy, I either do not have the time to search every square inch of the world for some stupid hidden trinket or I really suck at the game. I am basing my backlog of how I feel about a game. If I look at it and feel that I wasted my money it goes on the list.

Bully-Put a few hours into it, hard to find time to play when my son is not watching.
De Blob 2-never even been out of the case
Donkey Kong Country Returns-my son likes to play as Diddy Kong, really slowed down my progress
Epic Mickey-never played, got scared by the camera complaints
The Godfather-about half way through, love it, can only play when my son is not around
Kirby's Epic Yarn-played a little, got distracted
Metorid Other M-played a little, motion sickness kicked in with the missiles
New Super Mario Bros Wii-was playing with my wife. Accidently threw her down a cliff and still have not heard the end of it
Punch Out-got stuck on Bald Bull
Scarface-never played due to son
Sin and Punishment 2-played a little, never got back to it
Tatsunoko VS Capcom-bought because it was cheap, never played it
Xenoblade Chronicles-put about an hour into it before my daughter was born.

Looking at my list my biggest issue is adult games. There is very little time my son is asleep and the tv is free. The same issue is why I still have not finished the last season The Walking Dead or Boardwalk Empire.

Wow that is a Hell of a story. I knew you were in the hospital often but never realized how bad it was. I am really glad you discovered video games to help you get through those horrible times.

Game is well worth the $6, $3 is a steal.

TalkBack / Re: Of Nerds and Men: Historical Revisionism
« on: July 09, 2012, 10:34:24 AM »
I have the same problem with collecting collections. Sitting around me right now are my Woot monkeys, Heroclix, Simpsons, Swords, Hunger Games figures, Star Wars collection and numerous Nintendo posters still in the tubes because I am out of wall. Not to mention what is in the other rooms of the house. I still have nearly every toy I had as a child.

My biggest thing is not hardware revisions, but the special limited edition versions. I came very close to buying the Zelda 3DS even though I already had the original one, because it was Zelda. I am hoping to get the Star Wars Xbox 360 because it is Star Wars, even though I barely have time to play console games anymore.

Interesting. I knew it was 101% or 102%, I just guessed. I have tried getting one of the last 2 secrets to fire and it will not let me. It ends the bonus game before I can get into the second one.

I hate to think that I will never finish these games, because I cling to the hope that I will hit the lottery one day and have nothing better to do with my life than finish all the games I want to, but my list includes:

Final Fantasy II (US name)-Made it to the final boss, then my half-brother moved out and took the game with him. Bought it years later but have never had the time to put into it.

Final Fantasy III (US Name)-Bought it a few years ago, put a few hours in and never had time to go back.

ChronoTrigger-Ditto

Mario RPG-Got about 3/4 of the way through it, something else came out I started playing, by the time I got back to it I forgot what I was doing.

Xenoblade-Was part of the Operation Rainfall hype, bought it when it came out. Realize that having 2 kids (1 a newborn) and a long RPG was not a good mix.

Metroid Prime-Bought it when it came out, realized that my motion sickness had gotten so bad I could only play the game in 10 minute intervals. Not happening.

Donkey Kong Country 1-Beaten it, never managed to get the 102% realized I blew my chance on one of them, never going to play the whole game again.

GTA San Andreas-Stuck on the stupid RC plane mission. Too frustrated to go back to it.

Katmari Damacy-Just never seems to be at the top of my list.

Guitar Hero-Man I suck at rhythm games.

Looking at the list I realize I should stop buying RPGS, I just do not have the time to sink into them that I need.

I'm torn. I would like the posters, but I am quickly running out of walls in my house due to Club Nintendo. I will never use the playing cards. If only Nintendo would include free walls. I will probably end up buying the calendar on ebay again.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I gave up when Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance came out on the Gamecube. It had way too much in it. To this day I have not figured out how to pull off a fatality. Part of my problem is multiplayer. I hardly ever had friends over so I never learned to play against people, just the CPU. Now I am so far behind it is impossible to catch up. Forget online, I get killed in seconds there.

Been wanting it for a while, had just over $5 left on my account. Seemed like the fates were telling me to go for it. Not sure if I like it yet, but we will see. If they keep this up I will have to grab another point card at work.

So much cool stuff. I wish companies were a little more creative with what they gave out at PAX East. Seems like few companies even bother to try to impress the people who buy the games, but go out of their way to court those who write about them.

Find one of your comments kind of funny. I have been wanting to play Batman since it came out, but have not because I only own a Wii for this generation. Not everyone can afford every console that comes out.

After hearing you rave about and recommend this game through Swapnote I finally decided to get it. Once I figured out the controls it became fun. I am enjoying the puzzles but some of those par times are impossible. One level had a 30 second time and I did it in like 4 minutes.

It is extremely likely that the problems they had selling similar items in the past is what caused them to not sell it now. Good for them for saving their employees needless headaches.
