Nintendo Gaming / Gc defenders
« on: June 28, 2003, 01:39:25 PM »
well, only one friend of mine makes fun of the gc as a joke.  but the conversations don't pop up very often becasue non of my friends are as into video games as i am.  but there's one thing we all agree on, mario+duckhunt rules.  and nintendo's doing better now, alot better.  the kiddie argument is getting old even for the people who atcually think it's true, and people start to realize that if these games are kiddie games, then they're damn good ones.  i'm really looking forward to what happens next generation, an what happens with the pocket playstation.  actually, i want to see what happens with the N-Gage just so i can laugh!

i don't even participate in conversations about how the gc is the worst anymore.  all of my friends are just so ignorant.  y'know, everyone wants the console they have to be the best one.  the poor kid who thinks the ps2 is graphicly superior, the young boy who thinks now that a smaller controller is out the xbox is the best.  i just give up, they automaticly dismiss my comments becasue i am a loyal fan to the people who have been number one in the videogame market for much longer than sony of microsoft.  just, make the desicion that's right for you, as long as you're happy, who cares?

General Chat / july & The Legend of Zelda. Short Stories
« on: June 21, 2003, 05:09:29 AM »
okay, i'm not infernal, but i'll tell you how i think.  i think it was great, extremely good, but it had a little too much description in the first paragraph.  it would have been much better if it was actually in a book, becasue reading it on a web page does it no justice.  the lines were to long (no, not the sentences, although some were lengthy) but the actual lines.  it's early in the morning here and i'm still groggy, so and can't really think of the words to express how much i liked it, but keep up the great writing, and i only wish that i could write as well as you.  if you post anymore of your works on the forum, i'll read them.
oh yeah, i didn't read all of july, but i liked what i read better than zelda.  but with july, you should break it up in to chapters or something because it was a little overwhelming the way it was, again, becasue it's alot harder to read when it's on a webpage.

General Chat / Anybody watch X-Play on Tech TV?
« on: June 21, 2003, 04:46:01 AM »
i never was a huge fan, and i only saw it once or twice (i'm not a big tech tv fan, the only other show i like is screensavers).  but then i had a glimpse of only half of an X-play episode... horrible, horrible decision.  it reminds me of the Xbox, going "mature" to try and get more veiwers.

General Chat / capture cards
« on: June 17, 2003, 02:16:20 PM »
anyone know of a good one at a reasonable price?  if you don't know, capture cards let you take anolog video (on a tape) and transfer it into your computer.  this for people without a digital camera and who want to make movies.  there are some that come with editing software, tv tuner, and all this other crap (good crap), but if any of you guys have one, tell me how well it works or list some reliable brand names and whatnot.

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid: Prime lock up problem
« on: June 16, 2003, 03:54:13 PM »
concerning the original post, i had never had a problem until after i got the spider ball and was returning to the ruins.  the only thing is, i hadn't been rushing through the game, i had done the opposite, iwas going thru all the rooms thouroughly to find missile expansions.  i spent a long time in one room, and in the corridor after that it froze.  it's funny, i knew a chozo ghost was gonna come somwhere, and i remember "be ready for anything when it comes"  i wasn't ready for this.  is there anything i can do, or do i have to leave it?

General Chat / Sega Genesis VS Super Nintendo
« on: June 16, 2003, 12:59:58 PM »
i know, i know.  if i had done that in the first place this would have been a whole lot easier.  i had to have had an RF switch at one point (from Nintendo) because i had done what i'm trying to do now only with my N64.  but, it's gone.  and if i really want to do this right, i sould buy 2 RF switches.  i tried running everything thru the modulator and back out to the AV swithch and back in to the tv or something, but it didn't work.  i have no clue why though.  in theory, it should work.  maybe it was a faulty wire.  i just used some crappy old cable wire i found in the basement.  i'll figure it out, and i'm not buying anything else, i'm saving all my money for games.  plus, it's all a matter of laziness.  in order to play my N64, all i'd have to do is unplug a couple of things, and plug in a couple more.  I HATE BEING POOR!!!  i want a job

oh yeah, if anything doesn't make sense here, it's becasue of me.  my terminology for this kind of stuff might be way off.  but i'm pretty sure i got it right.

I have a GameCube, and I still use an RF adaptor.

so do i.  reading from other threads, i don't think grey ninja can afford a modern tv, his main priority is video games, then food.  it's not thatbad of a picture, it gets the job done.  or he could be like me, i have a modern tv, but we have an old one in the basment where i play video games.  but i don't use and RF switch, i  use an RF modulator, and i did all this crazy hook up stuff to make it work, so the screen gets fuzzy sometimes. it's so ANNOYING!!! currently, i'm trying to hook up an AV switch to my tv so i don't have to swith wires and stuff when i want to change consoles, but it's not turning out so good.  sorry for my rambling.  i have a sega genesis buit not a SNES.  genesis is good, but looking at ports on the GBA, SNES is alot better in the game section.

Nintendo Gaming / Is the GBA that much different then SP?
« on: June 15, 2003, 05:00:43 AM »
i can't believe no one mentioned this yet, the buttons on the SP.  They're much clickier (clickyer, clicky-er.  uggh, brain lapse, is "clickier" even a word).  anyway, i found that a great feature.  but if you're giong to try out both, defidently borrow from a friend or something, because the ones at a store do no justice to it because of the huge metal thing attached to it.  At first, the SP seemed alot less comfortable, but once i got used to it, my old GBA seemed like crap.  i even like the sholder buttons more.

Nintendo Gaming / The Gamecube system menu...
« on: June 14, 2003, 07:59:14 AM »
mario, i've wanted that forever.  they should have that on the memory card data screen thing.  see, i got mad eat my brothers for using me to buy video-games so they could play them, so i started charging them 2 bucks an hour to play.  but they could've played behind my back for all i know, so a timer would've gotten me more money.

all i have to say is my room is SO horrible.  this thread is making me so jealous.  but i got a drumset and that makes me happy.  i used to have a few nintendo posters up, but i took down and threw em away becasue i now have a huge world map up on one of my walls.  i kinda wish i had a smaller room because right now i have a huge bedroom with not too much in it.  oh well, wishing won't do anything, as long as i got my gamecube... and GBASp an playstation, and n64, and genesis, and PC.

NWR Feedback / not being able to post
« on: June 03, 2003, 10:43:04 AM »
so i go to post on some thread in general chat, and it says that whole "page cannot be displayed, please refresh" thing.  it does this three times, and the fourth time it says something like "error:  code must have variable in it" (that ;ast page was a PGC one, it had the purple and stuff).  the fifth time i was able to post.  it's not a big problem, and it only happened once, i'm just curious to what exactly happened.

« on: June 02, 2003, 03:32:32 PM »
agreed, don'thate742, anyone who dissed zelda because of it's art style deserves to miss out on a great game.  i don't really care if i'm plaing a "kiddie" game, becasue alot of games that seem kiddie are alot better than ones with useless amount of of blood and gore in them.

i agree with NintendoKid and Nintendo Gamecube.  A long as NIntendo keeps making the games, i'll keep buying them.  it doesn't matter what place their in.

by the way, i'm thirteen and i still play (and love) mario.

you bury it and when somebody (or you) walks over it you fall into a hole (hence the name "pitfall")  don't worry, you eventually get out.
