Game that could potentially contain $20 worth of content, but is rendered worthless by terrible controls and the worst camera system I've ever seen.  You are often not fighting the colossus but the game's mechanics itself.  I was overjoyed when my horse died

Black is creepy because he has not specified what sort of relationship he has with this mysterious "little girl."  I'm a little nervous.

broodwars is an asshole for wanting a seven year old girl to suffer so she can "learn" how to be a "better gamer" or some such nonsense.  Nerd elitism at its finest.

I've had a fountain for months and only recently have I tried going for a golden or silver axe.  I've been doing it nearly every day for at least three weeks (probably more like four, actually) and I haven't gotten a damn thing.  I've lost a lot of axes though.

1.  It being optional does not make it any less unnecessary.
2.  True enough, but you haven't made the case that the Mario franchise lately has had such things.
3.  You learn platforming skills by doing, not seeing.  This isn't like a puzzle game where there's some logic trick or whatnot that's simply beyond people.  Platforming is running and jumping.  You can't learn that just by watching.
4.  Once again, exactly what reason do we have to believe Nintendo will actually make their games more challenging to compensate for this feature?  They haven't in the past, so why start now?  Besides, if Nintendo has competent designers on their projects I dont' see why they couldn't just design their games to handle differences in player skill more efficiently, rather than just relying on the player to flip a switch to make the game play itself to get around situations they can't handle.  That's lazy design.
Every aspect of the argument is wrong.  I haven't read the rest of this thread because it's so stupid, so I'll just assume that everyone else is explaining why it's wrong.  Actually...

1. Yes, it does.
2. The argument was as follows: that which is easy for some may be difficult for others.  Your rebuttal doesn't make sense.
3. You can learn by watching.  Go watch a Mario speedrun and discover how poorly you're been playing all these years.
4. Let me quote:

"Once again, exactly what reason do we have to believe Nintendo will actually make their games more challenging to compensate for this feature?  They haven't in the past, so why start now?"

Can anyone in the class tell me using simple logic why these two sentences just don't make sense next to each other?

I won't even address the second part of that argument.

I suggest working on layups and free throws the most, if they could hit those they'd be leading the series.

I don't particularly like Kobe or the Lakers, but regardless of that this series sucked.  I like tension and competition.  The Celtics-Bulls series was the highlight of the year.

Bryant gets away with elbowing someone in the damn face giving Fisher an open three.  Sigh.  I know it's not easy officiating basketball, but it's BRYANT with the BALL.  SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING.

I HATE the Lakers and want to see them lose, but...OH MY GOD.  Dwight Howard is a professional fucking basketball player and he can't hit a FREE THROW.  He just needed ONE.  Same with Hedo, for that matter, missing three of his last four free throws.

The Magic are just playing so poorly right now...I can't cheer for either team.  Epic fail.

I'm playing through Ico right now, and then plan to move on to SotC.  So far Ico is really quite good, I'm just afraid it will be over too quickly and I can't imagine it would have much replay value.  That said I'm not all that interested in the Last Guardian, essentially because it's on the PS3 and there's no way I would ever buy one.  Ah well.

For those of you looking for Ico, you can get it for a decent price on ebay or the amazon marketplace (used of course, unless you want to drop hundreds of dollars).  Every once in a while it will show up on amazon for $30 which is not a terrible price since you can most likely sell it right back when you're done for the same amount or more.

Honestly, I would prefer for all parts of a game to be unlocked from the beginning, because the player has paid for the entire game.
I completely agree with this type of thinking, particularly when talking about multiplayer components.  There is nothing more frustrating than having to unlock multiplayer modes, ESPECIALLY when I have to play single player to unlock them.

Up.  9.5/10.

I had to take SOME points off for having a weak villain and god damn talking dogs.  Plus for me it started to drag the second they made it into the wilderness...but the portion from the opening credits until he took off in his house was so breathtaking it more than made up for the rest of the film (which was in no way bad, just a little more generic than I would have liked).  Seriously the first half hour is one of the most emotional and incredible pieces of animation I have ever seen.

A triumph!

The empty lamp is for Wisp!  Walk around your town past...8:00PM, I think....on the night you you found it until you run into him.  You give him his lamp back and he grants you a wish! He can even get rid of all the weeds in your town.

Also since it's summer I can finally play this game on a regular basis, so expect to see me online more.  Hopefully I can barge into someone's town at some point.  I still don't even have all the fruit!

The original is awesome and extremely under rated.  The fact that NWR as a whole appreciates it is basically the only reason I stick around.

This new edition is a travesty.  How can you beat off without the drums?  Garbage.

The Celtics played poorly, but the Magic shot over 50% both inside and outside the arc...when you shoot that well AND have the most dominant big man in the league you're pretty hard to defend.  The Celtics also made a lot of stupid turnovers and nothing seemed to be going in for them.  Major lolz at Perkins not being able to make a god damn layup.
