You obviously didn't look to well Mr. Magoo.

Clink "the website" and it will take you there.  The link into the dog tag part is at the bottom left screen, maybe you can't see it because the page doesn't scroll down but use your tab key and you should be able to move from link to link.

If you are talking about the money Sony invested because of the failure of the FF movie, Sony invested like $127 million and got like 19% shares of Square Soft.  After Square and Enix merged that 19% was reduced quite a bit I think into somewhere between 5 to 7 % and any contracts paper or otherwise basically mean nothing now.

I don't particularly mind - it's my opinion that the best games are usually system-specific.

What exclusivity reasons?

Oh I don't doubt for a minute its not going to be on the PS2, but I find it funny that without anything concrete about it sites are listing it as a PS2 game.  As for Quest making FF12, that's new to me.   Hopefully it will give the series a boost of creativity.  I liked Final Fantasy Tactics and ordered Final Fantasy Tactics Advance last week.

I wanted EVO but I couldn't find it.  Hopefully it will find a home of GBA but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

It's just, when writing a good story, you leave all the pointless details out.  That would leave about two lines of dialogue in MGS2.

Haha.

The only part of MGS2 that I really liked was Fortune, she was kind of interesting, but she wasn't developed enough though.

Well, nothing I have read about the game from Square-Enix has specified which system the game is going to be one.  It has so far just been assumed is going to be on PS2

Not one sane gamer would agree that a reporter using eg. a biased quote by M$ against its competition to have any credibility whatsoever to the reporter's piece of biased dribble is beyond a joke

A responsible reporter/journalist would have talked to Nintendo and had official quotes from Nintendo to disagree (couldn't think of better word) with the arc the article was going.  The objective of the article was to try and humilate Nintendo without letting them have a say to defend themselves.

If the person who wrote the article had any integrity he would have gotten both sides (all three actually) of the story before allowing his piece to be allowed to be read by the public.

The author of the article is nothing more than a tabloid rag writter trying to wear the shoes of a journalist and not realizing that those shoes will always be too small and never big enough to grow into.

The article is trash talk and right on par with what Microsoft is known for.  Attack with words instead of product.  MS can't be like Nintendo so they are trying to degrade them and belittle them.

You need to get a cannon that can do that first, not all do it.  Some let you do a "stretch" into other turns and fire along with another turn, or the torpedoes you fire and they hit later during another turn.  The only problem is that the cannons that let you fire in more than one turn eat up Spirit Points.  I rather save up the SP for the big guns, harpoon cannon or the better one later.  Because later you are gonna need to use the big guns and getting use to using them early makes the later airship battles easier.

When I played the original Dreamcast version it wasn't until after the first Valun(sp?) part that I got a hang of the harpoon cannons.  I did one ship battle the hard way and could have saved a half hour.

I think if memory serves me correct, only the red and green gigas can't be killed.

I don't have money problems.  But the way I buy games I might as well.  I have 11 games on pre-order and am getting a new PS2 when the new one comes out beginning of June, so I have over 700.00 dollars tied up in pre-ordered games.  I placed ordered for 2 games one day, four the next and two more today (Sword of Mana and FFTA, I have been waiting for Ebgames.com to post them so I could order them).  But more than half of the games I got with free shipping so I am only paying 49.99 or 39.99.  I also bought two computers last year, laptop (February) and new desktop (July) both from Dell.  I live at home which is a good thing because I wouldn't be able to afford to live anywhere else, especially after credit card bills, car payment (paying extra each month has shaved off at least one year of balance) and car insurance.  The thing is at least half of the games I ordered were impulse (so was my xbox, gba sp), but if I had to pay shipping for them I wouldn't have gotten them, at least not six months before they come out.

These sort of comments by PR and hype piss me off so much.
Conker was great on the N64. The reason why it was good was because he was he was a cuddly character in the mould of other NIntendo characters, injected with a real badass attitude. The bleeping of f**k actually made the game funnier than if there was full swearing. To me, Conker on the Xbox is just another character and mature game. Not that it won't be good, but I think it's more cliched if it was on Xbox. You guys can disagree this if you want.

And Kameo: the video was cool, but I wasn't looking forward to it when it was on Gamecube, and my stance remains with the Xbox version.
The only games I'm interested in are Banjo and Perfect Dark.
Banjo in full FMV-style glory would be a great sight to see. And a cel-shaded Jo is interesting.
Thing is though, it comes down to gameplay. And, if Grabbed by the Ghoulies is anything to go by, Rare's gameplay goodness days may be over.

So, IMO, Rare may have lost their touch.

I agree with you all the way.

I have never been a diehard fan of Rare but Kameo didn't appeal to me when it was going to be on the GCN and none of the games Rare showed off for the Xbox even interested me.  I read about GbtG and the whole premise of having to press button combos to move after being scared by the ghoulies is stupid.  At least to me.  Conker online is just stupid, the N64 Conker sold terrible but it has a cult following (? does it?)  Rare said they were going to have what five games out by the end of 2003 (? or 2004) and it seems to meet this deadline they are going to give the Xbox owners shovelware.

plans to launch the PSP, a handheld capable of playing PS2 games, by late 2004.

Did I miss something or what?  When was it announced that the PSP would play PS2 games, I thought it would use smaller disc's inside of cartridges?

General Gaming / Sony announces... the PSX!?
« on: May 28, 2003, 03:40:45 PM »
To me it seems kinda like a sign of desperation.  But if Sony is going to release this this year in Japan (?) and next year in other markets it could be seen as a sign that the PS3 is not going to come out in the 2005/2006 range.  Even though the part of Sony that is responsible for the PS2 is not going to be actually responsible for the PSX, it's still Sony.  Besides the name is confusing.  The first PS was codenamed PSX and as StrikerObi mentioned, people still to this day call the system PSX and PSX2.  Sony is trying to hard to make up for the tumble in the stocks they took.
