Nintendo Gaming / RE: shocking PSO news?
« on: April 09, 2004, 08:51:18 AM »
PSO3 could just be the final chapter in the story that was told in 1&2.  If they do a PSO4 then they would just be doing a new storyline.  But I see the PS series returning to an offline only kind of game.

The port is around 80% complete so they have been working on this for a while.  The % figure was from Magic Box.

I can think of two theories:

1. When Nintendo was in charge they limited releases in North America too.  Maybe Sony thinks they would do better if they copied Nintendo's formula more even if it's in a bad way.  They're set to release a power glove next year.

2. Console evoluation states that when a console company becomes too powerful they make a lot of dumb mistakes that pisses everyone off.  Atari did it.  Nintendo did it.  Now Sony must do it.  They can't stop it.  It's fate.

Actually I believe the real reason is that Sony has realized that there are too many PS2 games released and it's hurting overall software sales.  Thus they're restricting the localization of Japanese titles they feel will have limited appeal.  I think telling companies like Acclaim to stop making so much crap would be a better strategy but whatever.

I think that with the N5 NOA should start a publishing "label" for Nintendo that specializes in localizing obscure Japanese releases.  That would really help third party relations and if a surprise hit comes out of it Sony would be caught with their dick hanging out.

Sony was notorious during the PSone era for refusing games in NA because they were 2D instead of 3D, which is why the Saturn got more of the Capcom Vs games because Sega welcomed them.

Summoner Goddess Reborn is pretty good, not perfect but not bad either, suppose to be a reworked port of a PS2 game.  Only one on the list I have.

they also released 1 & 2 on the wonderswan and they were ported to the PSone, I'mnot holding my breath for a port to the GBA, it'll probably get released on PSone if at all.

I'm suprised with all the system changing Nintendo has done, NES from front loading to top loading, SNES smaller, and the Gameboy to Gameboy pocket, that Nintendo never changing the N64 to a smaller system.

that's the joy in it, you want to play it, but can't.  There is something funny about that.  Like wanting a rootbeer float on monday, but waiting until later in the week, because it will taste better.  So you can't play the demo, because if you played the demo game now, you wouldn't enjoy the whole game in three years when it comes out.

You might want to adjust your post, because if you are posting links to anything porn related you'll bound to get more trouble than help. I'm not going to go to that linke because I don't want the same problem happening to you, happening to me.

But I have never heard of scumware, I never had anything you mention happen to me.  I've had stuff magically appear on my desktop that I don't put there after being online, but nother like what you describe. So alas I can't help.  How about a spyware remover, like Spybot?  Have you tried that, or anything similar?

well it was a trojan something or other that was wrong with IE.  I don't know the name of the trojan off the top of my head, but I have it recorded at home.

I would just like to add that my anti-virus program on my new computer finally picked up the problem with IE I was having problems with the other day, so it now stays on the start page I decide. I use Spybot, have been for a while, but it didn't pick anything up.

I like random battles, but I like it better when you are given a choice to stop them, like in several Final Fantasy games, 8 and 10 especially.

well GFF was getting regular back ups either from Bobo or Skate, I don't remember which, so it shouldn't be a whole new fresh start if that is the problem.  I think it was backed up in January, the last I remember.

What is this timed out thing here, I just get a blank screen where I have to wait for anything to open up, that the same thing?

I had a Trojan thingy on my old computer and I used Norton on that computer and was religiously obsessive about keeping my definitions as up to date as possible, but my anti-virus didn't pick up the problem until after the problem had already made a mess of my computer, and not until I ACTUALLY manually went into the folder that the infected file was located that the anti-virus picked it up.  Of course by then it was too late, it had already wrecked chaos on my computer.  My computer, both my old one and my new one do a full system scan no less than once a week, and it never picked it up.  I lost faith in Norton because of this, and my new computer is running with McAfee programs.  I haven't updated my Norton anti-virus definition in about three weeks because I haven't used that computer since then, but my new computer is as up to date as possible as everything gets downloaded whenever I get online, and if something new is available.

But what it did was move programs all over the place, deleted cursors and removed items from the drop down list you can get by right clicking and selecting new.  Most noticeable was the removal of MSPaint from the computer all together and my computer not know what a .BMP file was, unless I opened it in a different program.  I had to go into add/remove programs and add the programs again.

My homepage would always change to some god forsaken page and following the instructions on how to fix it did no good because whenever I restarted my machine everything I had just done was reversed back to what it had been before, and I have no idea how to get rid of the problem.  My new computer has the same problem with IE with a constant changing of homepage, and nothing I do can fix it.  My anti-virus picked up the problem this time as soon as it was started, and deleted the infected files, but it still managed to screw up my Internet Explorer and I have no idea how to repair it other than to erase the whole mess and reinstall.  Also on my old computer I couldn't use some program that could use the internet to download content because whatever the hell had happened had changed the address the program had to go to, to access information, so it would stop responding.  I just stopped using IE as it is and use the variant IE browser that my internet connection uses and nothing about that was changed, since everything that I do with it can be carried from machine to machine just by signing in, favorites and homepage.  I would like to know how to correct or repair IE so that the homepage I set it to stay the current page and I don't have to reset it to default every time I go into the options, also to delete the stupid favorites it keeps putting in the favorites folder.

I don't read any email unless I know who it is from, and my internet service and my anti-virus both scan my emails for virus' when I open anything, or if the email is from a new service that I am signing up for that goes into my junk folder because my email is set to exclusive.  I don't have a contact list on my computer, but I do have one in my email, but I don't think it is store locally on my computer, nor are my messenger contacts.  If they are I have no idea where they are located.

haha, I played some of MGS on PS a few years ago, but wasn't up to it.  I played MGS 2, and HATED IT.  So I am getting MGS TTS and hoping that this game is very good.  Stealth stuff didn't turn me off, and MGS 2 turned me off because the story was so laughably bad.  If I don't get it today, I will get it tomorrow.  All depends on when the FedEX lady delivers if.

Liar, you know you will.

15% is better than nothing, here that 15% on a 49.99 is 7.50 and almost covers next day shipping, or free shipping plus extra taken off.  I haven't bought a game from a brick and mortor store for well over a year, maybe two years, so I love %'s off and/or free shipping.  You could say I live for it.  I may get a game I am only casually interested in if I can get it for cheaper or if I can get it with free shipping.

Channel 5 here, FOX, runs The Simpson's new episodes on Sunday I think, but they run an hour everyday Monday ~ Friday 6 to 7 pm and then again another episode at like some time between 11 and 12:30.  They run the same episodes a lot, I mean a lot.  I could probably see the same episode twice in a MONTH.

because it is in the long run the easiest, and most cost effective thing to do.  This case could wind up costing both sides a lot of money from court fees, legal fees, so it more simple to just settle and get it over with and out of the way.

yep, Nintendo has already covered the bases, and their ass with the warning in the booklet.  This is destined to go down into dismissed lawsuit hell where it should go, and Nintendo should counter sue on the grounds for stupid people who always want to blame other people for anything, and think they should get something for nothing.

ooh, with cinnamon jelly on the side.

I'll just say that I played Z-Zero the day I got it and haven't played since.  I got because I thought I wanted it, but will admit now that I was wrong.  Not that the game was bad or anything, but just a popular thing to do.  At least I helped out both Nintendo and Sega.
