what do u mean by breaking tables?

He means your title was too wide and stretched the box for your user name and avatar, thus "breaking" the table setup of the board. It really screws up the thread, and makes it extremely hard to read.

Sheer amount of words doesn't make a rebuttal, mumei- you're still missing what I was saying, and even repeating things I did say. Please, read it again- I explain myself quite well in my editorial, you just have to read all of it. My writing style is one of many subtle yet essential details.

Mumei: You missed the entire point of my editorial. Read it again, maybe you weren't paying attention very well.

You're not? Hmmm this explains so much though I have seen other people play that way. Nonetheless I think having four triggers is inferior to two triggers with six face buttons.

Agreed. I used to use my middle fingers for those buttons, too, and my friend told me one day to just shift my index fingers- it works a LOT better.

Ian: You're not supposed to use your middle fingers for the second shoulder buttons. You're just supposed to move your index fingers down. Otherwise I completely agree with you about the PS2 controller- in a lot of games where the d-pad and control stick are interchangeable I find my thumb slipping to the d-pad a lot.

If you ask me the Dreamcast controller is one of the best I've ever used. The d-pad's just a little too low and the control stick is just a little too high (they should have shifted both down), but otherwise I love it.

I think the fact that it's changed developers isn't good news at all. Even if the new developer is talented, why did they need to switch? And how well can the current developer pick up where the previous one left off?

Really? sounds like you rely on a few tricks more than you should, KDR. I've never had any of those problems when I played... ever.

Eh, I'm just as good in the shooting galleries on the Gamecube as I was on the N64- took a little getting used to, but that was it.

Bah, you're just elitist, Omen. You need to learn to appreciate things by themselves instead of trying to judge them by some standard.

No, Atari made the Pac-Man game for the 2600 themselves, and it WAS bad, very bad.

Sinced when do we hope ANY Zelda game is not the best? I don't recall myself ever saying "I really hope the next Zelda is better than Majora's Mask, but I hope it's not better than Ocarina of Time."

By adjusting the height of the laser do you mean turning the little white gear a couple clicks left or right?

And the other heard I heard about was placing about an inch of tape above and below the hole on the label side of each disc. I haven't tried it myself because adjusting the laser has always worked for me.

No game gets even close to 1 million within a week of release.

Didn't Final Fantasy X sell something like 2 million copies in less than a month in Japan?

And Nintendo isn't nearly as artsy as you think they are. They're the videogame equivalent of The Beatles. They're critically acclaimed and considered masters of their field but their output deep down is pure pop.

You dare say anything negative about The Beatles?!? Blapshemy! You shall not go unpunished!

This game is boring- the concept is great but the execution can't hold your attention enough to warrant a purchase. Sometimes you really do feel like you're Spider-Man, but that illusion is destroyed when you bounce off a building. I strongly suggest you pass on this one, or at least rent it. It certainly doesn't deserve to go double platinum- this game will probably keep Activision around longer than they should be, too, just like what Enter the Matrix did for Atari.

As has been stated, Midway is in some serious trouble, and Interplay got real screwed. Not to mention 3DO dissipated not too long ago. I'm kind worried about all these publishers struggling. I mean, I know they're bad and all, but having that many companies go south so soon can't be a good sign for the industry.

Hell, if they had freedom of action in Grandia 2 I'd have killed the pope on first sight and therefore prevented half the plot from ever happening.

Besides spoiling the game, you also wouldn't have been able to use more of the orgasmic battle system.

Molyneaux is trying to give us absolute freedom in Fable, but he managed to screw that up before (Black & White was boring).

Molyneux's too ambitious- I might even go as far as to say he's ahead of his time. He comes up with some extraordinarily innovative ideas, but the execution of them is generally less than exciting. I returned Black and White a week after I bought it. The concept sounded amazing, but as you said the game was boring.

I really like the horn part on A Moment of Silence/A Moment of Violence because it reminds me of the Hyrule Castle theme from A Link to the Past a lot.

And since there seems be a few Less Than Jake fans here, remember to pick up their next album, B is for B-Sides on July 20th- it's the rest of the songs from the Anthem sessions. I've heard about half of the songs, great stuff.

Oh, and for those looking for song titles for Everything Goes Numb, here's a track listing:

1. Everything Went Numb
2. That'll Be the Day
3. Point/Counterpoint
4. If and When We Rise Again
5. A Better Place, A Better Time
6. We Are the Few
7. Failing, Flailing
8. Here's to Life
9. A Moment of Silence
10. A Moment of Violence
11. The Saddest Song
12. The Big Sleep

When the main selling point of a game IS its online feature, yeah, I think lack of it is going to cause a drop in sales. Thank god most games don't revolve around their online play.

I find it odd, cubed, that the only serious complaint with the PS2 in this thread was a technical one. Maybe you should read the thread a bit before you post.

That's probably because of the heavy use of horns, Hostile- as you listen to the songs more and more you notice there are quite a few differences, they're just not apparent right away. I heavily urge you to read the lyrics, too, which adds a whole new dimension to the music. Everything Goes Numb, along with Hello Rockview and Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits, is one, is one of the few CD's I can listen to over and over again and never get sick of.
