ShyGuy. I wonder if he's related to ShyGuy of the forums.

I don't know anyone named ShyGuy but ol' ShyGuy of the forums lives out beyond the Funhouse Sea. He's kind of a strange old hermit...

Maybe she just came back to warn present Twilight that someone will poison the coffee at 8 a.m. Then cryptically adds, "More instructions will follow. Cordially, Future Twilight."
 :P:

Not until just now...  :D

Only a handful of people on my Friends list use SwapNote these days, so I'm looking to getting in on the action too.  ;D

That new cobalt blue one looks amazing...

This is pretty much the only Friendship is Magic thing I've laughed at. I feel dirty for it too.

If my 3DS dies on me any time soon, I hope that that lovely blue one is there to sooth my pain.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: E3 2012 Predictions
« on: March 01, 2012, 09:58:40 AM »
A little over three months to go... That's pretty close and yet so far.

Anyway, I've got a few to throw into the pot now:

Wii U

- It will be priced at $299.99; you get the console, cords to power it up, one tablet, and a packet of manuals that puts the 3DS's to shame. You'll also get a pack-in game featuring all of the tech demos that were shown off at last year's E3; it will be called Wii U Play.
- The big name launch title from Nintendo will be Pikmin 3 and it will receive high scores and praise from critics all around. For every hour that it's talked about on a gaming podcast, ten minutes will be spent talking about its strengths and the other fifty minutes will be spent talking about the faults, shortcomings, and annoyances that the hosts have with the game.
- A lesser launch title from Nintendo will be New Super Mario Bros. Mii and it will go on to dominate the launch in a sales fashion similar to its predecessor. Given the recent 3DS games, it will feature the Tanooki Suit, replacing the Propeller Suit.
- Big name third party titles including Resident Evil 6, Grand Theft Auto V, and more will be announced as launch window titles.
- The slogan for the system will be the groan-inducing, "Wii would like to play with U."

3DS

- Given that Netfilx and Hulu Plus are either on the system or on the way, Nintendo will (mostly) complete the video viewing Triforce with the announcement of a YouTube app.
- No announcement of a new model (as much as I've said so before) but we will be getting two or three new colors in time for Christmas.
- A new 2-D action game is in the works, developed by Retro Studios who've been given the license again to fix the damage caused by Team Ninja. Tentative title is Super Metroid Returns.
- We'll get a mention of the next Legend of Zelda game and a release date of some time next year; it will be developed internally.
- Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle in September, Luigi's Mansion 2 in October, Paper Mario in November, and Animal Crossing in December.
- While giving us information on Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, which will release in September on DS, Reggie will go, "And Pokemon fans will be able to experience where it all began, with the release of Pokemon Red and Blue, which is available on the Nintendo eShop right now."

- The whole keynote will end with the slightest teaser trailer for the next Smash Bros. We'll see Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu like last time with one or two new characters.

That's all I got for now. Let's see if I come back to this before the big show.

I can see the Wii U being priced at $299.99, that was even my predicted launch price, and Nintendo has said once or twice that they're learned lessons from the 3DS. I'm guessing that means the Wii U will have a more reasonable price -and software to boot- so that Nintendo can avoid slashing a third of the price off within the first six months.

That said, a Wii U Ambassador Program with 10 Super NES and 10 GameCube games for early adopters would be pretty rad.  ;)

Anyone who's born on Leap Day has one birthday for one year every four years. So they won't be able to drink or gamble legally until they're 84 or so.

It's on the website for Happy Meals, under the Toys tab.

NWR Forums Discord / Re: Can we get a staff blog reviewing the Vita?
« on: February 27, 2012, 02:38:29 PM »
If the Vita doesn't sell very well in the first few months, will Sony do their own Ambassador program where current owners get 10 free PSN/PSX games?

139
From what I heard, the Happy Meal toys at McDonald's throughout March will include keychains from this show, supposedly of the major characters.

So if you see grown men getting into violent fist fights at McDonald's over who is "the best pony", you'll know.

By the by, I don't hate the show; I just don't care for it. Indifference and hatred are two different things, Internet!  ;)

Wow, what a year. We went from thinking we weren't going to have a season to a Super Bowl that came right down to the final play. The winner of the big game, nonetheless, was a team that looked like it had no hope in early December, and they once again deny the Patriots a title.

I fully expect Greg to open with minor jabs of religion and then blurt out, "I believe in Eli!" on the next RFN. Or something akin to last year. ("F*** off, Belichick!)

I am a bit inclined to check out the rest of the game when it releases, but I felt the controls were mostly well done and use the system's features nicely.

The latest demo released today: Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Have to say, I'm a bit interested in it now.

I suppose my sister helped; I lent her my system and the game during the summer and she completed it twice.

...And I 100 percented both versions.

So it's a Super Bowl XLII rematch. That should be interesting.

Welp, there goes the Harbaugh Bowl.

Guess now I'll root for the Giants, so we get a Super Bowl XLII rematch.
