General Gaming / RE: Xbox 360 exclusive GTA?
« on: April 09, 2006, 08:43:49 AM »
Isn't any game that comes out for X360 right now a timed exclusive? MS is basically paying them to make them a new GTA game.

Vids are harder to touch up. We're stuck with prettified pictures.

Oh good, looking forward to Nintendo's 6 and 2/3 games.

Pshh, obviously prerendered concept graphics.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: To buy or not to buy?
« on: April 04, 2006, 05:16:03 PM »
I've got the money saved for one already, and a few games.

So long as they don't utterly screw up and they've got at least a couple games that sell me on the concept, they've got my money.

In other words, if Smash Brothers and Metroid Prime 3 turn out to be good (without overly relying on inane online shenanigans), consider it bought.

PGC Forums: Where Planet GameCube Readers go to inquire about necrobestiality.

Might as well ask if they're underage too, just to complete the trifecta.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:IGN Leaks Some Rev Specs Again! 3/29/06

Eh. This isn't a good thing by any means.

That said, I trust Nintendo to make up for it with an extremely compelling controller and games.

I think pretty much anything they'd show would be mindblowing, because you have to remember they haven't actually shown anything yet.

Right now the Rev controller is just an idea for us. Turning it into a physical demonstration, hell, a demonstration of any kind, would be pretty mindblowing and unique.

Question 5's answers are badly worded, but the rest of IceCold's answers seem right.

The first bunch of questions was too easy.

I actually think he was just emphasizing the ease of development.

This is the Game Developers Conference after all.

No more secrets left, just a list of games.

Is it just me or does the steamboat portion look like you tell the boat where to move then just control its cannon?

Or maybe the line drawn on the map is just for general guidance.

Obviously Nintendo's heard all the complaints about the vastness of WW's ocean though.

Sailing was fun in WW, there was just a bit too much of it, and the wind was inconvenient to control.

I could buy Metroid Hunters right now but I won't. And I probably won't be buying it for however long it takes to get to Australia. How long is that, by the way? Weeks? Months? Years?

Sorry, too tempting.

I'm with Ian on this one. He might give a list of games or developers without any pictures though.

Then again, he might give out nothing.

TalkBack / RE: Miyamoto Confirms Revolution Control for Zelda
« on: March 16, 2006, 08:59:16 AM »
Upon further consideration, I think my opinion of this depends more on how long the real Rev Zelda will take to develop. I'd think of this as just a teaser for now... I'll probably play through it on Gamecube first, then play through it again on the Rev to see what fun stuff's been added.

What the crap, you guys. Why would you do something like this? We're trying to have a stimulating discussion here, and you think you can just barge in and ruin everything with your heartless flippant remarks... what gives you the right? You really are just big fat jerks, and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

248
I'm with Bill... seriously, Nintendo needs to tone it down a little. I mean, Donkey Kong Country 2 is just really, really sick when you think about it. Especially the combo moves.

You guys remember that one presentation? Miyamoto obviously upset the tea table that had Mario's plot on it. The way it happens in my imagination is he strides into the room with that E3 Master Sword in hand and, in the blink of an eye, slices the table and plot neatly in half while screaming something cool in Japanese. And then he glares at everybody in the room till they all look away, then he leaves in dignified silence to tend to his garden.

Anyway, I'm undecided on this issue. Need to know more about the Zelda Rev controls.
