There's no way they're getting the Times Square location back, right? I mean, they could easily have other flagship locations, but that was the location to see/check out. I know people who have bought stuff there just to say they did.
The one thing about their previous model was that it was, more or less, working just fine until the brand was acquire by venture capitalist firms, probably mostly due to what UB said. But also other reasons.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters
If you're only there for the monster fights, it's a solid 8/10. However, some the people bits are infuriatingly bad. There's also constant references to Skull Island and King Kong is shown, but doesn't do anything, so they're really working to set up Godzilla vs King Kong.
I'm gonna summarize my issue with the main humans in the story in spoiler tags: The mom character fucking sucks. A terrorist group comes in and kills a bunch of scientists, sparing her and her daughter because she has the mcguffin. Fair. They then take her to go use the mcguffic on King Ghidorah. The terrorist show up at the base and immediately start shooting everyone. I was first annoyed by how calm she was and her refusal to warn anyone. Then, her husband has a gun on the terrorists, allowing her and her daughter to escape. She pulls the daughter back and uses the mcguffin on to awaken King Ghidorah, a seemingly suicidal move that was also in no way helpful in saving her. But then it's revealed that SHE is teaming with the terrorists. I thought this was a great twist in the plot and was really into it because it made her character make sense. But then after giving the whole "the titans need to kill people and rampage the Earth to restore it" speech, and freeing Rodan before people could flee to safety, decided that Ghidorah is actually destroying the earth and then the movie wastes time trying to redeem her. The problem is, in no way did she say "Hm, maybe killing half the population wasn't a good thing". And then I'm supposed to feel sad when she self-sacrifices at the end? That really took me out of the movie. Like completely ruined the climax for me. Also, the daughter got over her mom being a murderous terrorist really quickly, as did her estranged ex-husband. Even her self-sacrifice was really dumb because she's using the mcguffin to lure Ghidorah away in a car when there's a plane available. Sure, Ghidorah can fly, but you can get it away from Godzilla way fast in a plane! I hate feeling like those cinema sins guys, and there are a few other nitpicks that I think are made worse because that character had soured me a bit.
With that rant out of the way, a cut of the film without that one storyline would actually make the film perfect for me, and at 2 hours, the run time could spare it. The fights are good! And some of the supporting humans are fun characters I wish the film would've focused more on. I also kind of wish it wasn't almost always night time and raining during the fights.
While I overall think it was good, it's hard for me to higher than 6.5/10

« on: June 20, 2019, 06:38:44 PM »All it takes is another publisher offering enough to make FIFA or NFL agree to open up to non-exclusive licenses. Why take money from one publisher when they could get more from other studios? It all comes down to when those contracts are negotiated and if EA can pay enough when the time comes.
Part of the reason they have the exclusive was to make it easier on those brands to keep an eye on the games. Blitz was a big reason for the NFL license to go exclusive. While EA brought it back, people were reminded of concussions again so that will be a one time thing for now.

Yeah, I don't see why people assume Davis wouldn't be open to waiving the trade bonus. He wants to win now just as much as LeBron. Taking a $4M discount shouldn't be an issue, unless he really doesn't trust Lakers management, which honestly he shouldn't.

I was thinking that too, but stand-alone DLC would have to both give you a full map to explore below the caves and keep you from the seeing the overworld. Not sure if they'd do both. Plus, it's being billed as a full sequel.
They mentioned the game was born out of too many ideas for DLC, which I think is cool. Definitely confirms the DLC vibe, in a way. Also hints the game could come as early as next year, with the engine already built, no need to move to a new console, and the team having been working on it since the last DLC.

I still think it's the annual release schedule. We don't really need a new Pokemon game every year. If Game Freak wants to keep the team small without working too much over time, that's fine. But take the extra six months. I think the fans will understand that over limitations.

« on: June 15, 2019, 11:51:43 AM »I'd say that with the addition of the DragonQuest Hero, we can finally put an end to Geno ever being in Smash. At this point, I don't think we will see any other Nintendo characters added in the DLC. I think it is going to all be 3rd Party so that Ultimate will continue to further add to its stature of the biggest gaming crossover in history. There is always the next Smash Bros. to add in more Nintendo characters especially since there's a good chance many of the 3rd party characters for Ultimate won't be returning for such a future installment.
Plus with the 3rd parties you get the added benefit of having some cross-promotion. Unless Nintendo plans on doing anything else with that character, he's got no meaningful shot at being DLC. The only outlier might be Banjo and Kazooie, but they count as an extreme level of fan service.

The more I think about it, the more this could be a good thing. If there's a lot of new ones, it could feel pretty refreshing and end up making the competitive scene more diverse, team-wise.

This isn’t one of those situations where the quote is taken from some offhand conversation with a small outlet. It was at the treehouse live demo. He seemed pretty clear and reiterated. Like, the restriction was framed as being “bad” news.
I see a lot of convo about Nintendo not wanting their devs to be overworked and that being part of the reason, but I honestly wouldn’t mind not having the game until like March 2020. Pokémon as an annual franchise is a bit much for me as a fan of the series. An 18 month cycle would be more palatable.

Klay deserves the max, hands down. He had 30 in that game when Steph was just not getting it done.
