GLOW Season 3

Just finished it over the weekend. I was excited to see how much the show would change with the change in locale from the end of season two. There was a bit less wrestling this season (at least it felt like it). The show is still as funny as it has been, but there's more heavy-handedness this season.  There's a six month time skip during one of the episodes that I wasn't a huge fan of. It just felt like a lot of story lines were left to simmer, especially after an episode about spicing things up. It made sense for one of the main characters, but it came at a time when the focus seemed to be split amongst the cast. The season felt like mostly character moments with some characters and relationships developing a bit. While I kinda wish the show could've spent more time in it's status quo, the ending had me excited for where things go from here. I hope Netflix keeps it going.

I'd definitely buy at least two of those shirts.  I gotta get back up to New York to check out the store.

My Wii U isn't online any more, but I've been using Wii Fit U in place of buying a bathroom scale.

I still keep saying I'm gonna play Bayonetta on that thing, and maybe one day I will.

But the Hebra region has a few other things like a hot spring, a lynel or two, one of the leviathan skeletons, and a Hinox from what I can remember.

Cheers, some of those I'd already found, loved the underground skeleton in particular. Went back and found a few more things. Mainly another snowball pachinko shrine and also found the hot spring you mentioned. Is there any point to that place though, beyond serving as a neat locale with healing properties? I waited for nightfall and an enemy appeared but nothing else.

I don't think so. There might be a deku seed in that area, but I can't remember.

F4 is big but has there ever been a good F4 movie? It's cursed.

X-Men could never decide what it wants to do. Is it about X-Men, civil rights or is it just another Wolverine movie?

If GotG can work, then F4 can work. I don’t think it’s necessarily cursed. The first attempts were bad in ways that don’t reflect the property.

For X-Men, you can’t untie it from being about civil rights. It’s whole thing was about being a metaphor. But again, those movies were bad for reasons beyond the franchise like repeating the same plot points and making every other movie about Wolverine.

On the one hand, yes that ended up not being the best look. But on the other hand, wasn’t it the last time the Lakers made the playoffs?

But yes, I was mostly being a smartbutt. :P

Also, both Black Panther & Captain Marvel were riding the coattails of the Infinity War Saga.
Again, I'm going to need you to show your work. A lot of people skip the solo films and only watch the crossovers. Both Captain Marvel and especially Black Panther were milestones for marginalized groups. People showed up because both films were culturally relevant. There was someone on this very message board who didn't know "smile more" was street harassment women deal with every day. It was important for people to go out and support these movies. To reduce their success to "riding the coattails of the Infinity War Saga" is hella ignorant, man.

Yeah, most of the people I know and others I socialize with online were excited to see a Black Panther movie.  These same people held Blade in high regard and were genuinely excited when BP was announced.  If you're in certain social media circles, you also saw tonnes of people dressed up to see the movie, and not just on opening weekend, either.

Meanwhile, the MCU is both at its strongest & weakest, with everything depending on whether Disney can make people care about a universe now built around the C-list characters (and the Guardians).
Marvel laid the foundation of the MCU with C-list characters and the Hulk who was easily in the worst Phase 1 movie. No one cared about Iron Man before Robert Downey Jr. played him*. You brought up the Guardians of the Galaxy who were on an even lower tier than the other non-Hulk Avengers.

Are there still 3D YouTube videos?  Can you still watch them on a 3DS?

Yeah, the guardian weapons are really only good against guardian enemies (and Ganon?)

Finally Howard is Howard and is he the best fit with the Lakers?

Absolutely.  They can re-create this iconic image, only with Anthony Davis:

Yeah, the 80s nostalgia play is way too aggressive here.  Just do something new using the brand.  People who liked the 80s show will still tune in.

So, from what I read, Disney made an offer and Sony declined because they wanted to keep the deal as-is?  Doesn't sound like they negotiated much.  I guess we'll see how much influence Feige has over the company as a whole if he can get a deal a done.  I'm with Adrock, however, in thinking Disney will just overpay, which is honestly fair, since Disney retains the merchandising rights.

I can understand where both are coming from.  Especially with Sony now having the "keys to the kingdom" with a Spider-Man template that works and a Venom spin-off that also worked.  The problem is, of course, that they could end up shooting themselves in the foot by making a Spider-Man movie without a lot of the characters in the last movie (which could lose the audiences) or worse, making a bunch of bad movies that lose money.

10 year revenues is a common way of pricing a business, so that makes sense.  That number has to be through the ceiling now though.

You can't break a soul gem! (Or can you? Idk.)

1291
I'm inclined to think 80-90% of that never would have made it out the door had FOX remained solvent.

Ohh.. a Play-doh movie.  I imagine some corporate exec seeing how well the LEGO Movie did and being all "Yeah, let's throw money chasing that."

I agree.  I don't know what the actual percentages are, but I think most movies don't make it past development.  Fox could've had 300 or so pictures floating around on average for the past ten years.  Doesn't mean 300 (or anywhere close) actually get made.  Studios sit on options and scripts all the time.

1292
I think that's a fair trade off.  An animated MCU could be great for the big screen.  I know Disney has a cartoon for Disney XD, but I think they can keep those universes separate without too much confusion.  Plus, if Disney keeps the streaming rights for D+, then that's just more content for the platform.

What could've been a feel-good story of a player betting on himself ended with back-to-back regular season skipping injuries.  It really sucks that the injury bug got to him before a major payday.

Only a mafia would want to be the mafia. #Science

Speaking of #Science, there's a lot you can learn just from picking up and looking into a Soul Gem.  Give it a try!

>Unlike the NES-themed Joy-Con controllers for the Switch, this proposed SNES controller would charge via a USB cable.

Makes sense.  If you have a Switch Lite, you have no way to charge the NES Controllers.

I suppose that's true... Ironically though, considering the button layout, D-pad inclusion, and lack of TV support, there's virtually no need to have an SNES one if you're using it for a Lite.

Don't forget the lack of a kickstand for table top mode!

Hard to see too many Switch Lite users going for this.

A quick google suggests that Hulu blocks VPN IPs, but some services can get around it.  You may have to shop around.

1297
Disney would have to trade virtually all of the Fox properties before Sony would even consider it.  They'd have a better chance of buying Sony Pictures outright than stealing away Spider-Man.  I think more collaboration and possible universe integration with Venom and whatever else they want to build off is their best bet.  Sony knocked it out of the park with Into the Spider-Verse, so I think Disney/Marvel could offer up more franchises for animation (X-Men and F4 come to mind).

1298
I'd think someone like him would want to look at other creative endeavors. He could stay with Disney and flip over to maybe Star Wars? I don't remember what the structure is over there or how or parallels to the MCU side.

Actually looking it up, maybe a lateral move like that wouldn't make as much sense unless they were in a rush to replace the current Lucas Films president.

If anyone wants to just walk up close to me, it's totally fine and perfectly safe.

Is there a good logical reason that they trickle these games out so slowly?

They probably plan on supporting the thing through out the systems life so the lineup is limited.  Much of the NES library is filled with licensed games which are probably out of the question.  Then you have Capcom and Konami releasing their biggest series in separate collections so they're not coming.  Plus Nintendo themselves have already released most of their own NES games by now as well.  So the amount of games that they can legally still add is probably much smaller then many think.

Hopefully with the upcoming Vice: Project Doom it means they're looking for hidden gems to make up for the lack of games each month.

I think it is a visibility thing.  You can keep people talking about the service if you keep adding to it.  But it can't be a steady stream because what Luigi Dude said, so we get a trickle.  We're coming up on the one year mark for NSO, right?  Maybe year 2 will be the SNES year.
