In the first game the friendly AI was a problem--like them shooting at walls or even at you:0 but in the sequel they work great and have combo attacks to boot.

As for the combat, yeah in the first game using some of your abilities like pull and lift didn't work so great because you couldn't aim objects all that well.  Again it works great in the sequel.

It's to bad Bioware didn't release an enhanced version of the first game with the improvement in the sequel.

"Infinite Undiscovery"  Bleh barely recall that game, it's not something you should waste your time on there's plenty of better RPGs.

I enjoyed Blue Dragon but it's very old-school meaning it's more about grinding than any real strategy.

I would focus on Pikmin, Sunshine, and Paper Mario and maybe a little Prime to go along with that.  4 games that you really shouldn't skip though I'm guilty of not finishing MP too.

That activation key was tied into your account, meaning just like steam if you wanted to sell it you'll have to give up your account which isn't to bad but if they catch you doing it you'll end up getting it banned.

"Wii by not picking up the quality 3rd"  That's the thing, nintendo has gaps in developement cycles so the WII actually started off strong with Zelda, Smash Brothers, Metroid Prime 3 ect all hitting within the first year than it went into sleep so by the time any of these third-generation of games came out like Metroid Another M the hardcore gamers already moved on.

Hell the only reason why I kept my WII for this long was in the hopes of getting some RPG loving but now there's only two titles left, one Zelda and one Kirby for the entire year?  Bleh.  I don't play sport titles, minigames, and comic-book followups unless they are good which isn't the case 90% of the time.

What's the point in buying new hardware when the damn thing is going be abandon 4 years later?

And WII Music made tons of money for nintendo--it sold like 5 million but nintendo expected it to outsell all those other music games.

Well the problem lies with costs.  Video games cost more than books so people are more incline to resell them.  For example I buy alot of novels but I don't bother with reselling them because the value is so low it's not worth my time.

What we need something that works a bit better--maybe a limit on how many times a product can resell.  Namely if I purchase a game and it turned out to be a lemon I think I should be able to get something out of it at least.  The sap that buys used will get stuck with it but at least he bought it at a discount to begin with so he/she can't complain.

Just finished up Heavy Rain on the PS3.

It's a nice change of pace and I loved the concept.  Basically gameplay follows an old school button presses at certain times (think of it as an modern day Space Ace) but even if you fail it doesn't led to certain death instead the game adapts from your success and even your mistakes.  It works great IMO, I replayed a few scenes a couple of times just to test how steamless it felt.  If you miss a punch then it goes straight to another scene, make contact then you get something else but whatever you do or don't the game will simply continue on.

My only gripe about this game was the story which is great 4/5th though.  Not sure why developers always throws in that "twist" in the storyline but in this case there's to many holes that simply don't fit.

Overall I say this gets an solid 9/10.

Kept the price and release a better bundle with a bigger battery.  Nintendo went really cheap with the 3DS's battery 1300 mah's.  There's 2200's mah same size already that you can buy as replacements but it would be better if nintendo packaged it.

Yeah, was kinda looking forward to the Alice's return but from other reviews it sounds like a skip.   Had fond memories of first one though I played it on the PC which if I recall correctly had an quick/save option.

Just finished a few games off my list as well; first my thoughts about Tactics Orge Let Us Cling Together PSP.  To start off this is an port/remake from an SNES title and it's the was successful in Japan so much that Square copied it's forumla in the better known US title Final Fantasy Tactics.

The story for me was a bit disappointing because I never felt anything for any of the characters.  The dialog between characters is thin even for major characters and you really don't get much of an feel for some of these additional characters that you can gain thoughout the game.  Both FFT and Fire Emblem series had alot more dialog which gave you a better feel for members in your party.

Gameplay suffers from poor level design and poor AI.  For level design I'm talking about it's just about the same setup each and every time minus maybe one or two differences.  Just about all of them gave the enemy the height advantage (meaning you're always at an disadvantage with range weapons).  As for the braindead AI--it does the reverse of the FireEmblem series--I would say it was suicidal.  The boss (AI) would charge straight at you while his alllies are failing back?  Makes alot of missions/maps that freaking easy because all you had to do was gang up on him.  Guest AI had the same issue.  Some maps had quests in your party or on the map and they were all pre-programmed to annoy me the most.  Had to restart the same map three or four times simply because the guest AI was killed :(  nothing you could do because he started out in the middle of the map and ran straight at the enemy AI.

Overall Tactics Orge was an great game for it's time but you really can't go back in time.  It doesn't hold up all that well and there's better games out there now so I give it an:

6/10

Also finished up Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360).  I never really did play the first one so I don't have that game to compare to but here's my take of on the second one:

To start while my biggest gripe about the game--the WATCH--yes, you are on the clock.  I hate--and I mean Hate--games that have these built in clocks that you have to follow.  I like to look around and experiment with the enviroment and whatever else I see fit but NOO this game throws the clock right in your face.  Didn't see an option to turn if off maybe they fixed it in a patch.

Also the game has one glaring other flaw.  Backtracking.  You save these people but then you hold their hands back to an safe house.  True you don't have to do this but you won't gain exp fast that way.   I bet I ran the same damn hallway over 100+ times which got old after the first 50 times.  They could have easily fix this by having multiple safe houses in the mall.

The other flaws were a bit minor, it uses an crappy save system, save points that are mostly out of your way which doesn't help because if you losing time getting to them.

Still the game it fun, loved all those sick-twisted mini-bosses and all the weapons and combining them into all kinds of crazy but sadly the damn timer sticks it's ugly head instead of having fun mushing zombies heads in I ended up running/shoving to mission to mission.
Dead Rising gets an 7/10.  Without a timer I think I was easily gave it an 8.5.

Missed out of the Xbox 360 CODBO--sold out--but I did get Noire and MK for $27 each (after tax).

Nice deal from Toys R Us for once.

Casual gamers really should start reading reviews--Duke Nukem selling well is a bad sign for the industry.

"It's got HD and the power of the competitors"

It's a bit to late though for last generation and it's a bit to early for next generation.  At best someone believes the WII U to be 50% more powerful then PS3 but that's not an huge gap.  Since nobody knows what MS and Sony's going release but if anything from the past they don't innovate they just bring more power.  Which means the WII U would be hardware king for 2 years but as soon as the others release it's back to "underpowered" again.  Of course that's just going by what MS and Sony's done in the past but I can't see them releasing a console that's only %50 more powerful.

If I had to guess I would say by 2014 MS and Sony will be aiming at 3 to 4 times the power of the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Hope they go with something a bit newer than R770.  Nintendo uses opengl(based) so DX won't matter but opengl 4.0 wasn't introduced until the R8's right.

50 more power than this generation might not cut it for next gen.  Have to what and see what Epic's Unreal 4.0 and other next generation engines require.

Maybe nintendo's going crossfire two R770 chips?  It's actually cheaper going with two last generation of chips than one more powerful newer one.

Yeah, wasn't to keen on Birth by Sleep either, good for the combat but that's about it.   Did you play the DS game, KH 358/2 days?  Storywise that's the better of the two.

And now you get to move on to VC2 :).  I was the poor soul crying during e3 when Sega didn't announce the NA release for VC3 for the PSP.

It has on-board memory but no hard drive.  Not sure how much on board memory you get, the WII had just 512mb's but rumors is the U has 8GB's which is decent enough.

For more storage it does use USB 2.0 and SD cards too.  There's four USB ports now so you wouldn't have to worry about unplugging them to make room for other USB devices.

I'm going try Infamous 2 later but I was wondering did you try any of the UGC levels?  I'm going hold back until later this year to see what the users come up with, if it's similar to Little Big Planet or ModMation then the best missions are still to come.

"Nintendo didn't attempt it at all with DS-->Wii "

Actually there was one--Final Fantasy Echoes of Time.  Couldn't find anyone to play with me but it allowed you to play ds/wii together in a room.

$250 is a start off price and it really isn't all that high.  PSP launched in the US at $250 and has sold around 70 million to date.  The demand determines the price.  Alot of folks are jumping the gun on the 3DS.  Sure it's not selling right now but wait until the holidays.

Wonder how many people are going play this on the WII or wait for it in HD on the WII U?

Kinda sitting on the fence on this one myself.  My aunt wants an WII for her kids so I might just give mine up.  I would have to wait a year but at least I'll have an good reason to buy the U.

The difference with certitfied stock prices?  Ones electronical and ones paper.  You can print them out yourself if you really wanted them but why bother?

And two I wonder if that's just the one fee of $9 whatever.  When you buy shares you don't usually buy just the one.

And 5% low that's nothing--you should see some companies in my 401k.

Note Pad--yeah it's not exicting but think about it, how many time have you seen an item or chest that you simply couldn't reach at that point.  Now all you have to do is whip out your Map and draw an x on it or add whatever notes you wanted it.  Zelda on the DS use this and it's really is a must for die-hards who need to find everything.

In modern day RPG's the NPC have free roam now so adding notes to where you saw them and at what time can easily save you hours of time.

In FPS that could work as an reminder, like if you replay an certain area and it branches into 2 parts what did you take?  Can't remember whip out the old notes and see what you wrote.

Sigh, Watson was using I7 8 cores/16 threads and the WII U rumored specs is using 3 cores?  What don't you get?  It's still uses the same technology minus the core which makes it less powerful.  So it's not an I7 or even an I5 it's something between an I3 and I5 processor?

I started a list last generation and ended up laughing at the silly amount of games I had--over 200+ titles on the PS2 alone.  This generation I decided to rent instead of buy and I think I'm sub 50 games across 5 platforms.

Last year I cleared out a closet filled with just old manuals.  Some of them were nearly books, like Baldur's Gate and hell I even had the manual for Zork.

Gotten rid of almost of it now.
