Movies & TV / Re: Rate the last TV show you've seen

I was gonna watch the whole thing anyway as long as i didn't lose interest.

But should I watch Caprica too?

I've seen all of Caprica, and it's just a total mess.  I wouldn't bother with the series, as it's another show about a bunch of unlikeable characters trying to screw each other over.  The show tries desperately in the final episode to tie better into Battlestar Galactica, but if you've seen the backstory told in BSG you'll know that the two just don't mesh.  The show got canceled after one season for good reason: it's terrible.

to be fair it got cancelled in the middle of the season pretty abruptly  so they had to cram everything in one episode. I liked Caprica after they stopped with the shitty cylon/A.I arc but by then it was like 10 eps in. If BnM lost interest in BSG after season 3 i dont think he'll like this.

as for BSG it was awesome, but the cylon dialogue made me cringe big time. Also the mutiny arc in the middle of season 4 was freaking amazing

i find that the main difference between JRPGs and WRPGs is that western RPGS are actually role playing games.

You're confusing Tea Leoni with Radha Mitchell.
It figures, though.  I've watched so many animated series, I can pick a voice actor out in a few seconds.  But I have a lot of trouble distinguishing live actors/actresses from one another by appearance.

the only voice actor i can recognize is Steve Blum. That guy is is everything.

Radiant Historia

this is odd...I have skyward sword with me (still in the shrink wrap), can download skyrim off of steam have bf3 installed (but to be honest i didn't like it nearly as much as i thought i would) and could buy MW3 (bleh) if i liked that.

yet I'd rather play this obscure DS RPG instead.

If it does turn out to be FF7 I will be disappointed.  I think it's a horribly overrated game (FF6 rapes its face) and is lifted to a mythical, yet laughable, status.  Don't get me wrong it's good but the fanboy gushing over this game is tantamount to idle worship.

Agreed. It's funny reading about how people love the story and characters when both are laughably bad.
Gameplay is ok though but isn't worthy of the golden idol status it gets.

While that sounds awesome i'm just so disillusioned with nintendo's online strategy that i've pretty much given up on them. I'm sure they'll find a new way to screw things up.

You know that feeling you get when you sit down to take a **** in a public restroom, and your dong touches the front edge of the toilet...that's the best feeling in the world.

HAHAHaAHAHA that's hilarious for so many reasons, but mainly because a friend of mine and I were in a Tenacious D like mode the other night and made a song about just that.

*Reggae melody*

My dick hit the toilet lid...whaooh
I was just trying to take a ****...whaooh
There was no toilet paper....naooooh
There was no toilet paper...no no no no no

ahhhh....this is life

FYI: Amazon has the game available and on sale for $15.99. Anyone else looking for a copy should pick it up while they are still available... and while ordering, why not toss in a copy of Ghost Trick for an additional $14.50? Great way to qualify for free shipping!

Whoever hasn't played either of these should jump on that, both are great games.

999

An engrossing story that takes some cues from the puzzles of professor layton and story elements of the pheonix wright games (near the end) while tossing in some mystery and gore...Minus gameplay. 999 is a visual novel folks, expect minimal gameplay and treat it as if you're reading a choose your own adventure novel with pictures. If you go in expecting a "game" you will be sorely dissapointed. It isnt perfect, some of the dialogue is a little cringeworthy but thankfully, are isolated moments and... (major spoiler dont highlight if you haven't finished)snake getting shot 6 freaking times by a revolver close range and somehow doesnt die from that...and we're talking about a scrawny guy here not Solid snake, that moment really took me out of the story but the story still manages to grab a hold of you and takes you for a ride.

The ending however dissapointed me with its intentional inconclusivness in an attempt to make me re-read the story with another ending. The rollercoaster ride there was worth it but I'd rather just look up the different endings online.

8/10
Its already out of print. its worth the regular retail price of $30 but i wouldn't go spending anything more than that.

btw this is rated M for a reason, don't buy it for your kidsunless you want to scar them for life.

Well, three guys and whatever the hell Lindy is.
A GOD whose powers were stripped from him with the Removal of his hair.  Legend has it that if Lindy ever 100% completes his game collection his hair will be restored and he will ascend back into GODHOOD.  Seeking to prevent this the other GODs put a powerful curse on him that compelled him to pick up games at launch.  Thus Lindermann Syndrome was born.  Everyday he fights it and you can follow along in...

The Lindy Chronicles.

I'd watch that show.

I just pre-ordered it from Amazon. I hate going to the city to fight my way through crowds because my town doesn't have a games store. I live in Canada where we had thanksgiving in October so travelling isn't an issue. So I'd rather wait about a week or so for the game to get here. Besides, I still have 999 to wrap up.

I think you've got that story confused with the grasshopper and the ant story. The actual story of the first Thanksgiving involves aliens.

Aliens from another world (the old world) invading the new world.

There are definitely people who have changed their opinion about Twilight Princess.
I think the three-day opening is one of my least favorite things in any Nintendo game ever. It's almost inexcusable. At least with the Wind Waker Triforce quest, you can go off and do side missions during it to spice it up.quote]

Agreed. The opening is probably the sole reason why i will never replay twilight princess.

yeah i actually agree with you broodwars on the TP comment but i cant help but feel like they're trying to get hits. granted if videogame review scores weren't so inflated then it wouldn't be a big deal. To be frank thats the bigger issue.
