Finished Deus ex: human revolution

a first person game with a good story? *gasp* it can be done! Don't get me wrong it isn't like the best thing ever but at least it wasn't the typical lowest common denominator stuff. I remember the marketing talking big game about how you can play this game any way you want but it was clear to me from the very beginning that the dev team clearly wanted you to go stealth. as a stealth game it was actually pretty good, i usually just end up getting frusterated at stealth games too. If you're still iffy about whether or not you should buy it just wait for a steam sale where its sold at a stupidly low price.

also this game suffers from mass effect 3 syndrome where all the endings are the same. well i wasn't THAT surprised since i knew the game was a prequel to the original Deus ex. the ride there was worth it though

Listening to the newest episode of Weekend Confirmed (ep. 116), and yep, the Wii U is a joke to those guys.

Nintendo, way to spread that message out and about of catering to the core crowd of gamers... o_O

if you skip to about the 15 minute mark of this episode of Invisible walls, they basically tear Nintendo apart. It was brutal.

how about Pikmin 2? it would be both timely and now easily available in all regions now that the NPC version will be coming out in north america on june 10th

basically my hype for everything just fell off a cliff, except for pikmin since i had no hype to begin with. Project m-100 from platinum looks good too.

I just added the extra games, this turned out to be a great deal. I just  bought cave story+ and bit.trip runner right before this bundle because of a steam sale as well, decided i might as well just start an indie game backlog at this point, since i now have 10 of them (although i already played psychonauts on ps2)

get a blutooth adapter and download glovepie. now you can use your wii remote and classic controller with your pc. It what i use all the time to play non first person games on my PC

we've been burned by third parties so many times i just expect it to become a minigame box again -_-
Sure, i'm very confident that nintendo will come out with good first party games, but the tone they set for this year is "this is the wii all over again". I'll take the wait and see approach but right now I'm not brimming with confidence.

well the conference left me dissapointed but i was never planning on buying a wiiU at launch to begin with anyways.

funny watching the xbox conference on the game trailer's stream, they had realtime feedback, it was in the green during halo 4 and splinter cell and the meter dive bombed ever since they talked about kinnect and never recovered from rock bottom since.

I was hoping for a price cut and was dissapointed :(

lolwut. the funny thing about some of these anime is that you have to think that they're self-aware of their terriblness. The newer anime especially like high school of the dead and Ben-to are pretty much parodies of themselves, intentionally or not XD.

Deus Ex: Human revolution
not a fan of Jensen's voice actor, it really seems like they were basically trying to make the game star Keanu Reeves but didnt have the budget so they hired someone who sounded like him and based their character design off of him. That aside this game is really good at scratching my mass effect dialogue tree itch.

I would also like a PGC 2002 dvd. I've been trying to collect as many of Nintendo's old e3's as i could, with 2002 i would have 2001-2011 (and soon 2012) I was planning on releasing them on a torrent (because some of these are from youtube rips, people would get all miffed about "stealing") but after hearing about your e3 2003 trivia i think i would ruin that idea by doing that XD

A zelda by retro studios would be boss. after skyward sword i kind of realized that i don't like zelda anymore, but if retro studios is working on it they could breath new life into the series like they have for Metroid and DK. Honestly its probably the only way i'll be excited for a new zelda game. Also damn you for playing xenoblade music during the show, now i feel like replaying it despite beating it 2 days ago.

funny how a random guy on some forum is better than all of the media outlets combined when it comes to this stuff.

damn this bundle is great. I bought Psychonauts on the ps2 so maybe i can gift it on steam or whatever. The rest of these games look awesome. I just bought cave story and bit trip runner on steam as well XD I'm hemorrhaging Indie Lindies right now XD

might as well put together an indie game backlog.

yeah i watched a few episodes of that show. You're right it's not terrible but still isnt my cup of tea anyways. The opening is still pretty lulzy though in that "wtf Japan" kind of way.

Also NHK is actually a really good show, the pururin thing is basically a parody of the kind of stuff that's in this thread.

General Gaming / Re: What is your most recent gaming purchase?
« on: May 28, 2012, 02:31:49 PM »
Just bought bit trip Runner and Cave Story+. I got the steam versions since they're cheaper than the wiiware ones and I can use glovepie so I can use my classic controller pro on my PC (which my HDTV is hooked up to as a second monitor). and for my non-indie game i bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Been meaning to play Deus ex: HR for awhile but i held off from getting it because i was knee deep in backlogged games. Now that i I've since cleared myself of it I'm free to buy whatever i want. At least until i buy a 360 and ps3, then i get to start the backlog thing all over again.

edit: man the visuals in bit trip are kind of nauseating

Having just finished Xenoblade and hearing Jame's hilarious rant about Disaster: day of crisis I'd really love to hear him talk about the ending to Xenoblade. He's mentioned it before but shied away from spoiler territory. This was my first monolith soft game, but the disaster day of crisis talk leads me to believe that bat-**** insane plot lines are their specialty.
