Sadly I can't see Nintendo throwing it out there as a budget price . :(     Although at least we have seen a few simple things have changed.   The swimming for one.  The water being on the west side also. (I haven't played City Folk yet, so not sure if beaches could be on the east or west there)   The hanging items on the wall.  NPC's following the player.   It's not much but it gives me hope.  Nintendo likes to keep a lot of things secret so, I'm hoping there is even more in the game they are just not going to show it before hand.

*Crosses fingers*   I hope at least. :)

I'm not really sure what I want Retro studios to be making, but I won't object to them helping on Mario Kart.   So far I've loved pretty much all of Retro's work so it only means good things to me.

I'm hoping the mansions carry a lot of different themes.    At least in the trailer you get the sense of an Egyptian tomb, and possibly a castle looking one..   Although it could have just been a hall with armor knights in it..    Would make the game a lot more diverse though to see some varied designs in the mansions.

Six dollars for Link's Awakening to me isn't that bad.    It is one of my favorite games.      On another note though, you can download videos of many of the 3DS games at E3 on the E shop right now..  Just downloaded a few myself.

I will wait till I can hold the controller before I judge how it handles.   As I'm odd ball with controllers.   Sometimes I find controllers I love that everyone else hates.   I'm just glad to see the return of standard buttons, with the continued support of Wii Controllers and such.   Hopefully a large variety will be taken advantage of with this.

I'm trying to keep myself in check though. While the Link Tech demo really had me wiggling in my seat, I'm going to only look at it as a tech demo and nothing more.   I will be honest, I'm a fanboy and just happy to see my beloved franchises in HD someday.

I bought an original psp day one it came out, just like I did with the original ds.   Enjoyed both systems.   I can honestly say at the 250 dollar price point.  Sony has pretty much secured I will be picking up a vita day one.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Street Pass!

I've had mine since launch..    I live in the country, but every time I go to town I take it with me.   I have gotten one street pass and it was last week.   I got it at Sam's Club of all places.  Taken the thing to mall's, my nieces college campas when I went to get her, all kinds of places.   When I was there, I looked around and didn't see any demo units.   Judging just by the Mii I got and stuff pretty sure it was a real person too.   Other than that, I've gotten nadda.

I get that glitch sometimes..   To unfreeze the system turn the wireless toggle off and it will pop back to the main screen, then you can just turn the wireless right back on.

For some reason the Majora's Mask moon seems less intimidating when Reggie is around.

Actually, I really dig it. It's nice having that ability to fine tune your aim with the gyroscope instead of the Circle Pad. I thought it would be dumb, but it's a nice (and completely optional) touch.

Naturally, in fast-paced situations I wouldn't advise using it, but for slow-paced puzzles, it's kind of refreshing.

Nice!!   That is just what I was hoping to hear!   Can't wait to try it out myself.

Overall how do you feel on the gyroscope controls?   It's something that kinda intrigues me, but I think in the end will be too much of trouble in most of my play situations.

Right now I may just pick up Shantae and my free Excitebike.    I wouldn't mind owning and replaying Super Mario Land, but I think I might wait a little bit on it.   Might pick it up when Link's Awakening comes to the store someday.  Get them both at the same time to kinda space out my purchases or such.   That's assuming Link's Awakening doesn't take too long to come to virtual console.

So far I have enjoyed my 3DS.  As it has also served as a replacement for my original ds fat.  My time according to it goes as following.

1. Pilotwings Resort  9:59
2. Animal Crossing Wild World 6:26
3. Super Street Fighter 4    3:24
4. Street pass Mii Plaza 2:24

Kinda drifts into junk and mingling of stuff after that.     So I guess that is over 22 hours spent with it.  To me it's such a big upgrade over my original ds, that I'm loving it just for revisiting old titles.  Just to see what they look like on a bright screen.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: 3ds scratching itself
« on: May 15, 2011, 12:18:19 PM »
I did a quite serious cleaning of mine before installing the screen protectors.  Mine did not wipe off.  The scratches are there however quite light.   Much like the people in that thread mine wasn't that serious but there is an indication of wear.  I didn't mean to make it sound like everyone should panic or do anything drastic.  Just letting some people know, as mine does have a slight amount of scratching from it.

Since mine does have some scratching from it, I prefer to install a screen protector knowing it can happen and was starting to happen.  Perhaps it never would have gotten anymore scratched than it already did. Either way I would prefer to just play it safe since mine did show signs of it.  I just thought I would post it here to give anyone a slight notice.  As I honestly didn't notice mine till I looked for it.

My screen protectors came in a kit that I got from amazon.  I had a bunch of credit back when the 3ds came out, so I just bought some simple kit mainly for the car ac adapter.   Mine were made by ICON and came in that 20 dollar kit.

I just installed them this morning but they seem okay after playing with them for a bit..  Can't vouch for how well they work over time or anything.   The first one I messed up getting it installed on the top screen, but got the second one got on fairly easy, with only a slight bubble.  It's not on the screen part though, so it's not that bad.   I can't notice a difference on the touch screen, nor do I notice any visual difference on the top screen.  I also play on the lowest screen brightness.  Not sure if that matters.

Nintendo Gaming / 3ds scratching itself
« on: May 15, 2011, 08:25:08 AM »
I saw this at neogaf. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=430287

Checked my own 3ds and found it to be true.   The rise around the bottom screen is slowly rubbing against the top screen when closed.  Forming small scratches.  Needless to say after I noticed it on my own 3ds, I quickly installed some screen protectors to help prevent any further scratching.

Saw some pictures and heard accounts of others on that thread also experiencing it.  Saw it on my own 3ds.  So I thought I would post it here to give a heads up to anyone else.  I know something like this, if happening on my unit, I would want to know ahead of time to try and prevent any further damage.

This kinda makes me sad.  I was really hoping for the next week or two.  Oh well, I guess it isn't that much longer.

Could be fake, but most likely real.  I mean if they are going to be launching in the next week or two, makes sense for cards to be shipping or getting ready to be shipped.   I really hope it launches next week.  Been craving some games and such to be stored on my 3ds for ease of use.

^ This times infinity . I will be happy with just the ocarina, everything else is just an amazing bonus!

I totally agree.   I would be happy with just the ocarina.. I was quite stunned by that list.  My first thought was, oh they get a choice.  Then I read and saw all that they got.   Quite amazed by that.

Dear Nintendo of America.    Please.   That is all.

« on: May 05, 2011, 12:06:12 PM »
I'm really looking forward to this update.  Mostly cause I want to buy/download some games onto my 3ds, so I can have a bigger selection of on board stuff carry around with me.  I will defiantly re buy some of the old game boy games to replay and just to have with me for the convenience factor.    I'm also a bit curious as to what from the DSI catalog will be compatible.  I never had a DSI, so there might be a few games in that area I will pick up.

173
I haven't replayed Oot since I got my 4 Zelda game disc for game cube..    It's been close to a decade now.   So I have been fighting the urge to replay it, waiting till I get my 3ds copy.  :)

Saw this posted on Neogaf.   A new trailer.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR1pdOX_gQE  Thought I would link it here for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I've made a mental note to keep an eye out for this game.  Kinda want to see how it will turn out.  Looks like it might be a promising game to explore.  I really crave a kinda adventure game on my 3ds.  Something with fun environments to explore.  I don't know anything about this game, but it does look like it might have good potential in that area. Either way it looks quite nice visually so far.
