TalkBack / Re: WiiWare Demos Making a Comeback?
« on: November 02, 2010, 07:38:24 AM »
They need to make demos permanent. It would promote people to go to the Wii Shop channel and, you know, buy a game if they like it. Why doesn't Nintendo get this concept?

"And its really up to you [which version you buy]," Smith said. "If you want to hang out with your friends and use gesture controls, you got it on the Wii. If you want to go online and you want that HD experience, you go on the PS3/360."

This translates to: "If you want the POS version we slapped together in a month, buy the Wii version. If you want the version that we are actually putting time, effort and online to, buy the PS3/360."

EA, you are back on my **** list with Activision. Please try to avoid retaking the #1 spot.

Wow, a 10. Great to hear. If they were going to wait this long to make a Kirby game, at least it looks like they did it right.

Will Wii Speak work as well? Cause I already have that, not buying this regardless.

Ogre Battle for sure. Great game. Good luck finding it though, it was tough even when the N64 was the system of the time.

"100s of varieties of..." boring. Wow this is one way to keep me from buying a 3DS at launch. What a joke.

I'm with BroodWars on this. I hope they don't put an embargo on it until after the release date for reviews. If I see great reviews, I could preorder it for that special edition. But its lots that "grown up" side to it. But glad we have a release date now.

TalkBack / Re: MTV and Harmonix Reveal the Entire Rock Band 3 Song List
« on: August 25, 2010, 08:09:10 PM »
I'm with Morari. That set list is way too diverse.

There are 15 tracks I want to play, and then a big pile of dung that makes up the rest.

It's worth $5 in the clearance bin, so let me know when it gets to that point. Man, and I thought GH: Warriors of Rock's setlist was medicore.

P.S. TJ Spyke, I seriously doubt Beatles has turned a profit. They paid a TON for that, and after the first month, people didn't care. I never cared in the first place. A) It's the Beatles, who I didn't grow up with. B) I heard you can get through the entire setlist in about 8 minutes.

That is just crazy. Good for the game, I am playing though Soul Silver right now. I'll probably wait for what I can only guess will be the Grey version, but I expect this to be a big jump in the franchise.

TalkBack / Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
« on: August 09, 2010, 10:54:42 PM »
I'm with Tommy. Are there ways to make it sim like? As I posted in the last article about this, who is the franchise mode as the years go by?

I can live with gameflow not working and the pointer controls, but no talk about online play and I could use a bit more on franchise.

Not sure how I feel about this right now.

TalkBack / Re: Madden NFL 11's New Franchise
« on: August 08, 2010, 11:34:44 AM »
It certainly sounds promising with franchise mode, but could you do something with your review that I bet no one else will?

Play through as much as you can, but SIMULATE like 10 seasons worht of franchise mode as best you can. See if over the years like the offensive players seem to receive stat boots more than the defense, or vise versa. Does it seem to skew weird tendencies that aren't likely to happen? Do players retire randomly at weird ages or at about the right time? How good are the rookies, are they overpowered or are they too weak to ever make a difference? Are there weird statistical errors occurring.

I'm sure there is other stuff that I'm forgetting.

Having played the holy heck out of Madden and NCAA 2004, as good of games as they were, these were problems I found as the seasons wore on. I also think of a game like MLB Power Pros for the Wii, which for whatever reason has 75% of the players batting .240 or below. Game works real well, but being a stat guy this bugs the hell out of me.

And knowing about the online structure would be big to know of course too.

I look forward to the review, but again, another good read in this series and I really hope this is a great Madden for Wii.

TalkBack / Re: New Games to Feature New Pokemon Until Post Game Content
« on: August 05, 2010, 08:05:41 AM »
If the game takes place in an entirely new region, it makes sense to do this. There had better be over a 100 new pokemon then.

I am fine with the incredible number of pokemon in the franchise. That is what makes it unique. Everyone's party is going to be different when you go to do battle. Other RPGs have the problem of only having 5-8 characters most of the time to choose from. The combinations are endless, and I love that.

Sure, I don't know all of their names on site, but who cares. Keep the variety coming. And for crying out look GameFreak, give us more Dragon and Fire types!

It looks like fun, but 24 levels that don't look super long makes it a $20 to me.

Or better yet, put it on WiiWare. Nintendo has gone awhile without a d/l release.

Can't wait to read next week. The only two modes that matter are Franchise and online mode to me. Can they top '04? Why is it so hard to top '04? I guess we'll find out.

Interesting stuff and all, but its the gameplay that matters in the end. THis better have all the features as the other two systems to even consider a buy from me.

TalkBack / Re: Madden and Nintendo Through the Ages
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:41:20 PM »
I agree with the article that the 2004 version was well deserving of the awards it received. My brother and I played 20+ seasons on that year on the GCN.

I got 2006 version for the PS2, but it wasn't as good of a game.

Since owning a Wii, I have waiting, and waited, and waited for a good Wii version of the Madden Series. It has looked like nothing but a terrible shell of the 360 and PS3 versions and I've not even had a desire to buy any version of the game, and that included seeing Madden 2008 for $15 in the clearance area at Target.

I want this year's version to be great, not good, but great. I want the online to be good, and I want to actually own a Madden version for Wii because its a quality game. I sure hope EA gets it right. I can live with those crap *** style graphics if hey can give me a great simulation game that gives the option for an arcadey feel.

I've really enjoyed these talk, which is surprising since I haven't played any of the games before this. But keep them coming, hearing a different perspective from the developers is great.

Judging by the lack of comments on this 5 day old post I must be one of the few hungry for more good flight games on the Wii. Hope this one delivers, I like the price and look so far.
