"Players only" filtering will destroy Funky Barn  :-\

Well you don't have to filter it. It's call an option, lol. I'm sure no one will use it for that game.

It'll probably get ported to the Vita.

I doubt that it's gonna be on Sony's portable Titanic.

LOL post of the week. Portable Titanic.... I'll have to remember that.

And to Soren, backlog or not, the game isn't first party, it would have sold OK on the Wii U had it come out next week. But not gangbusters. Just sad because it will do worse in September against GTA V and Windwaker.

179
I hope not long, I look to buy both versions.

Amazon is currently doing a deal, where if you preorder both 3DS and Wii U in the same checkout, they will only cost $80 total. I'm doing that unless Best Buy matches the deal, which I would rather use since I have gift cards to BB.

180
Let's hope this fixes the tear Ubisoft created with it's fans. I'll bite and try it out.

181
I don't think this game will have an impact on Wii U sales (in any region), but that said, if the game came to the US and dropped the sub fee, I'd get a Wii U for this game.

If it comes to the US, and I think it will, they will drop the sub fee like they did with Monster Hunter. And if that is the case, I'll be buying it. People thought Xenoblade and Last Story wouldn't sell. But guess what, they did. RPGs early in a system's life cycle is a great way to go. We need this in the US. It might not sell tons of systems, but it will sell systems to the hardcore gamer, which is what Nintendo needs to do.

Thank you for this short and sweet article telling people to relax. I've been saying this over and over again in the comment section. People need to have PATIENCE with Wii U. It's going to be alright in time.

If you don't like these early system life droughts, then don't buy a system Day 1. Otherwise, don't whine, you know what you got yourself into when you bought the system Day 1. These problems will happen on PS4 and Durango, it happens all the time. It's part of the life cycle.

And yeah, March to June is looking great for both 3DS and Wii U. Can't wait.

183
OK, so it looks cool. And I love the NSMBU challenge stuff.

I'll probably try this out. This is an acceptable olive branch - especially considering I wasn't going to buy Legends in the first place. And neither were 90% of Wii U owners if it was released Feb. 28 like originally planned.

But at least Ubisoft is kind of, sort of, but not really, making things better for their PR snafu.

184
No kidding, why is this not being mentioned for the US? it would sell systems. We need RPGs asap on the Wii U.

Come on NWR, somebody make some phone calls and find out what is going on!

TalkBack / Re: Wii U Sells 57K Units in January
« on: February 17, 2013, 10:21:30 PM »
Folks, there will be no price drop. Nintendo knows they need games, not a change in price.

But if you must talk price, remember PS4 and Durango are going to be $600 each. Wii U will be the cheap option come the holiday season. So relax on the price. It's not coming down. It's going to be the bargain.

Monster Hunter is going to start the upswing of games. It's the baby months of the system. Everything is going to be OK, just like the DS and 3DS had slow starts. This too will past.

Go play some Wii games, 95% of you missed a ton of great games on the system for various reasons. You can find those games for cheap now. So go play them.

Voted for Ys Book I +2. I have Wii points saved up, so if it wins, I'll pick it up and get to it. Probably with Star Tropics or Dracula X as well. The other two don't really interest me.

Pretty much all he'll have to say is, "Wii U is only $350, not $600 like the PS4."

TalkBack / Re: 3DS eShop Sale Announced for North America
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:46:54 AM »
Kind of annoyed I paid $15 for Bit.Trip but that was such a good deal at that price. This is even better. Also, I'm totally getting Crashmo and Mutant Mudds. Maybe Sakura Samurai.

You're mad you paid $15 for 6 games? REALLY? I got the physical edition for $15, not looking back at all as I'm playing it currently.

Really ticked off. I downloaded Mutant Mudds for my son as his Valentine's present less than 10 minutes before they announced the sale. I would have waited for Easter if I had known and gotten one of the other games instead.

I am debating getting Bit.Trip Saga. I have the collection for the Wii and am not really sure I want to double dip on it.

Why in the world would you download anything during a Nintendo Direct, especially when they have gotten better about announcing sales during this time?

I'm getting Crashmo for sure, loved Pushmo. Probably Mutant Mudds as well, and maybe Ketzel's Corridors. Great to see more deals by Nintendo. Hope they keep this trend going.

Why not put 2-3 random DSiWare games on sale each week? I mean it could resurrect some life into those older games.

Probably my favorite announcement of a new game today. Hope it has RPG elements. I want a deep game Camelot.

And the Yoshi "Par" hop to hop dance. That might be the 2nd most vital thing behind RPG elements.

Wait the next Mario vs DK will let you create your own levels? I didn't see that. That's awesome! Peaked my interested for sure on that.

Harmoknight also looks like a blast to play. At least the 3DS eshop is going to see some life, VC maybe not as much. Now just need to put some life into the Wii U eshop. At least Wii U has Lego and MONSTER HUNTER for next month!

Solid Nintendo Direct for sure.

Just give us some release dates. That would be enough.

Though I would like the following localized: Bravely Default, Layton vs Ace Attorney, Project X for NA.

For Wii U, how about DRAGON QUEST X already!

And please end the show with Reggie looking right into the camera, say "Hey Ubisoft, this is for you." And then give them the finger.

Best Nintendo Direct EVER.

This looked decent for $2. But at 4.5, not decent enough. Thanks for getting another review up, I'd only seen one on the internet thus far.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Needs to Stop Caring About What Other People Think
« on: February 10, 2013, 12:50:07 AM »
We're getting Monster Hunter next month. Beyond that I'm good for awhile. I'm not too concerned right now with all this panic. The system has been out less than 4 months and people are jumping to conclusions.

Why? Cause it's the internet. The land of negativity and the constant need for instant feedback on everything. Well gaming consoles you can't gauge in a 3 month window.

Is Wii U going to be another Wii? No. Is PS4 and Xbox Durango going to come anywhere near sales of PS3/360? Nope. The casual gamer has gone to tablet. We are going to head back to the days where for the most part, it's just a core audience.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are all going to be fine once they realize they all need to innovate more, and stop with trying to run franchises into the ground. Much like the movie industry.

Relax people. There was a panic about the 3DS, it took a year or so, but it has plenty of good games now, and more on the way.

Well at least we got the Etrian Odyssey IV demo.

Hey NWR, how about asking around as to why we are getting the NES Mega Man games, when there were 5 Gameboy Mega Man games. And those haven't been released a million times over before.

TalkBack / Re: Scribblenauts Unlimited Review
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:38:50 AM »
I love this game. You can be so creative and still answer most puzzles. My wife and I will sit there some nights, see a puzzle with an obvious answer, but instead try to think of the most absurd answer possible that should still work. And Scribblenauts Unlimited's answer system is built so well you can be creative.

Can you use the same 10 answers for a lot of problems? Maybe, but you can have a ton of fun if you use your imagination. Do that when you're playing the game, you'll enjoy it even more.

TalkBack / Re: Madden 25 Not Coming to Wii U?
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:34:43 AM »
Not too worried either. I own three Madden games:

2004 for GCN (I also own 2004 for GBA to get super teams through Connectivity, but GBA game is bad)
2006 for PS2
2012 for PS3

And the quality of games are in the same order. 2004 version is the best, 2006 was a small downgrade, and 2012 is a pretty bad downgrade. It's horrible they are the only ones who make NFL games. They are putting no effort into them at all. And how has the announcing gotten worse? Just very disappointed in the series.

I know it's for for Wii U that madden comes out - and I'm sure it will - but man I want EA to face competition so the games don't continue to lose quality.

198
Sure hope people buy this game. The 3DS could use a new system seller beyond just Mario games.

199
Good article, and totally agree. I remember when Nsider went down, those were sad times. Glad Nsider2 exists, but it is not quite the same.

Nintendo Power I wasn't too sad about the switch. The reviews were less biased, which was a nice change. And they still got interviews with Nintendo people that other media sources couldn't.

But yeah, Nintendo of America could certainly do some more work on trying to talk to their user base more. Figure out what we want, and well, give it to us. Then they get our money. It's win-win.
