Probably going to pick up both Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud. Both interested me anyway, and a sale makes them that much better to pick up.

You couldn't pay me to download Aero Porter though...

TalkBack / Re: 3DS-Focused Nintendo Direct Coming This Wednesday

Just want a Mario Golf release date, and hey here's a crazy thought, announcing more Game Boy/Game Boy Color /Game Boy Advance games that will be released on the eshop soon!

And Miiverse added to 3DS. That would be enough for me.

Everything else is a bonus.

Can't hurt to have. I use my 3DS version for those nights, but if I don't feel like transferring the data, this will be a nice secondary option.

Kind of hoping they would increase text size in both games... but not a huge deal.

Sorry, won't be purchasing now. Really thought this game looked cool, but if Ubicrap has touched it, then most likely they threw some rabbid rabbits into it and ruined it.

I own 0 games on my Wii U and 3DS that are available at retail. That number will remain at 0 unless they offer some game for free or like a $1. I'm sorry but going digital is not a good idea. Besides the uncertainty if your system goes corrupt - ala what happened to my Wii - I like being able to see my collection.

I love it when people come over, see my collection on the shelf, and go "Holy crap that's a lot of games." And then I get to respond, "Yeah, that's just the last two generations. There are boxes more downstairs." It doesn't sound nearly as impressive as when you turn on a system and say, "look at all those icons, those are all games."

I do have Steam, I own plenty of games on there. But I have a $5 rule on there. If it costs over $5, I don't buy it on Steam. If you are only getting a file, you should never have to pay more than $5 for the game. I know discs are cheap, but the whole thing of box art and physically owning it makes it worth more to me.

And to those of you so lazy you don't want to change a cartridge out... I feel sorry for your soul.

Not a bad review at all, though you could have spent a bit more time focusing on how much fun it is to play online with friends. And well the score is 3 points too low.

Just need more time to play the game, but loving both the Wii U and 3DS versions thus far. love cross platform play!

(I forgot how dumb that song was), but the game looks really cool.

Is this not the most bannable comment that has ever been posted on the internet? Just think about it NWR.

I am not going to assume like some others that this remake is going to turn out alright. I look forward to it, but not going to buy it automatically. For all we know, they will add a tutorial, quick time events, and Scrooge will magically get his health back when you hide behind walls.

But the song remastered is AWESOME. That is confirmed.

At the boss at the Mine Depth 3. Anyone have any suggestions? The FAQ I looked up said attack his head, but I can't lay a dent on him. I have the original sword, this may be my problem.

Also, I got the dako tree thing that allows me to talk to trees. I know this should let me get the silver sword, which might answer my first problem. But where is the 2nd tree that is not right near the entrance to the mines?

Pretty nice to see a bunch of eshop titles coming to Wii U.

Though I'm waiting to this goes on sale for $10. Unless it has online multiplayer... which it doesn't look like it does.

Tons of responses for this. Looking forward to it, but agree with Art de Cat, there better be some new content. Just a graphics overhaul will be lazy.

I own both NES carts still thankfully, so at least I have something.

But it looked like it had some stuff that wasn't in the original.

How much time do we have left? Had a baby (or wife did I should say) March 5 and I've been kind of limited on gaming time. Hope to get some in tomorrow finally.

Maybe have it posted in the original post?

Finally decided to look to see what in the world was going on with this rating system. Now i know why I can't rate other people. At least i seem to have gotten a few more +'s in the last week or so. I'm sure I'll get a few - now just for making this point known in this post, lol.

Oh well, not like it matters all that much.

Got through the Shine lair/dungeon. The boss of the area is extremely tough. I lost to it like 20-25 time easy. Glad this game lets you save just about anywhere. Crazy part was I thought I was overleveled going into the fight. Guess not.

Though you do seem to gather money pretty fast. I should be able to upgrade my weapons/armor now with all the gold I collected before the next area.

And the music in this game really rocks.

I was getting annoyed by the lack of any in game maps, so after a bit of searching I found a fantastic little guide which gives loads of information on items and also includes maps for each area. Very useful if you can't work where the hell you are.

I downloaded the game today on the VC, and gotta say I like what I'm playing so far. And everybody, I would have to say although the game isn't exactly confusing, the maps provided by the link above are a great help.

I find it interesting with the whole attack mechanic being just running into enemies at an angle. Made me think of The Last Story, which is the only game I can think of where you just move at an enemy to attack them. Leveling up at least for the time being is quick and easy. I just went outside, grinded for one song on my mp3 player, and got the money I needed for the initial weapons.

Also, was shocked to hear like a narrator, and voice acting! When you see a game that is 16-bit, you do not expect voice acting.

Glad this game was picked, will continue on for sure. So far it's way better than the game I just finished, Metro 2033, which was also sorts of mediocre FPS non-fun.

Podcast Discussion / Re: RFN RetroActive #26 Poll

I would have voted for "Not Ys" if it had been an option. I'm sick of RPGs winning these, but I guess it's what the people want.

It has level-ups and you can change your armor/weapons. That's about as RPG as it gets. It's really more of a (very fast-paced) action game. They're even pretty short: Ys I lasts six hours at most, while Ys II is perhaps double that.

That was the question I had about the length of the games. Good to know, thanks!

It's like PsychoNauts, but it's all about the money.

Don't you mean it's all about the GOLD!

Going to pick this up down the road. Just don't want to pay $60 for it. But it sounds like it is a fun enough experience. And free DLC is the only DLC I'll partake in.

With a 10/10 review, anyone with a Wii U should be picking this up.

I'd have to do 3DS. All 3 of my Wii U games are not online co-op. Do this again in a few weeks, and I will hunt monsters until the internet loses power.

I put 260 hours into the Wii Version
...
And still probably only put in half the hours of Maxi :P:

I will have to befriend this Maxi person so we can hunt online together on the Wii U. I'd probably be well over 350 hours if not for my Wii hard drive burning up and having to get replaced. All game saves with online - lost....

People, the game is designed to be played online in groups of 4. It's a blast to play with people online. it is a bit slow in the beginning, the first 5-6 hours you are lacking in terms of weapons and the missions are so-so, but once you get online and get to the fun monsters, it's a blast.

With voice chat and keyboard support, if you like a challenge, RPG elements, and going up against massive monsters, this is a great game. 1P is solid enough, the demo is really bad in showing that off.  But it's well worth it. I put 260 hours into the Wii Version, and have no problems buying both versions to have this at home and on the go.

You guys should have also reminded people about the Crashmo sale!

But this is the best week in quite a long time for sure. Already got Fzero, downloaded both MHTU demos, Trine 2 demo, Yoshi update, and I forgot to d/l Ice Climber update from awhile back.

Picdun 2 looks like something worth downloading, but I should try the original first since it seems to ahve gotten good reviews.

Glad to hear it's finally coming out. I can tell by the comments none of you will be buying it. $10 is a fair price for a non-HD version. Still looks fun, hope people give it a chance. If you don't own other systems, you don't have a good reason not to try it if you were interested before the Wii U.
