That hype is only online though, and as we have seen time and time again that really doesn't amount to jack in terms of overall sales.

The general consensus is still very much "should I get a PS3 or a Xbox 360?" among most people. From what I have been hearing, like on radio shows and other media fractions, the Wii isn't even being considered in most peoples minds yet. To that point, one is really going to have to wait until the advertising campaigns kick in before any real idea can be gathered as to the Wii in the mind of the "common" consumer.

1160 posts, .9 posts per day... hell yeah! (I'm actually a little scared that it's almost gotten to 1 post a day...)

Kingdom Hearts > Final Fantasy. If they do decide to move Kingdom Hearts to the Wii I would be very, very happy.

Other than the Ogre series, that's pretty much my favorite franchise from Square Enix now.

That's what I thought. It's overall very "Reservoir Dog-ish" in its design, which I must say I love.

I assume you were talking about the game there, as the movie lacks said "big jugs"...

On a completely unrelated note, Stan, please note that the #1 most anticipated movie coming out is The Departed, a Scorsese flick.

A shame IMDB polls don't mean jack squat in general, though... otherwise I would have expected Snakes on a Plane to actually do well (or at least moderate) at the box office.

I agree with those wondering why Metroid Prime hit the list considering it was one of the Cube's more mainstream titles and seems out of place here. I mean, if Prime hit it, why not Tales of Symphonia or a ton of other great games that are well known but all the same didn't fly off the shelves to become a million seller (although as others pointed out, Prime did)?

The only one I disagree with, though, is Pac Man Vs... a game that was a interesting multiplayer title, but not one that really lasted the test of time as me and my friends lost interest fairly quick and I'm sure we weren't the only ones. It's not really a title that begs to be revisited, and seeing as how it is solely a multiplayer title that's not all that great. Although if its selection was done, in part, due to price that I could understand.

Delays are fine. An unfinished game should never be rushed to market. Some games show more than others. Super Smash Bros Melee's magnetism ledge grab is evidence enough that the game could have used a few more weeks of tweaking.

I swear if one more person alludes to SSBM being rushed I'm going to snap...

Every game has glitches and other things. SSBM's are more wide spread because (surprise, surprise) it's pretty much the only near launch game for any of the current systems that people to this day continue to play and, as a result, continue to discover different aspects of it, such as wave dashing.

Still find it odd that Disney released their racially charged "On the Front Lines", which is fairly awesome, yet refuses to give this a limited release for the diehards. Especially since the ride Spalsh Mountain is based on this film, and why that was done in the first place is really beyond me.

Maybe in anticipation of a future URL move? ...probably not, although ideally that should probably happen well before the Wii actually launches as one wouldn't want confusion during a high traffic time like a system launch. So... soon maybe?

That would assume that GT would be a launch only title, which it won't, so others will have the chance to feel the burn on it as well... again, taking this news to heart.

I agree. I think the biggest issues were (at the time they were announced/happened): how powerful the system was, the name, lack of HD support and the weak showing at E3 2005.

If that is true, I think Sony has pretty much just given up at this point and are ready to milk their hardcore fans for all they are worth on the way out.

I really can't see that coming to pass, though, or if it does at least failing hard on the GT series and never (hopefully) be attempted again.

Wandering is my new hero after that...

Anyway, it goes without saying, Pirates of the Caribbean is an excellent and incredibly fun film. It also goes without saying that X2 is beyond awesome, as IceCold brought it up. Both of those movies were two of my favorite US productions since the turn of the century.

The original reason for content production is to seek diversity and to promote creativity, and at present the games industry relies too heavily on easy to sell sequels. He believes that this is a warning signal for the business - and that for SCE, innovation is now the basis of all their thought. Without innovation, there can be no future for the industry.

Did they just give a sales pitch for the Wii there?

Also, out of all the old systems to snag emulation for, Sony gets the Mega Drive and PC Engine... ha ha ha.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wii Points the new Air Miles?

It would probably be in Nintendo's best interest to give out a few. Not enough to buy a game, persay, but enough to convince the consumer that "well I might as well spend these on something" which could then introduce them to the whole experience and, from Nintendo's perspective, hopefully use it again.
