TalkBack / RE:INTERVIEWS: The Denis Dyack Interview

Then he slams Wii for being weaker than the 360 and incapable of doing the things that they want to do. Wow... wasn't the original XBox more powerful than the GC too? And isn't the PS3 more powerful than the 360? Apparently they don't want the absolute most powerful hardware, even though he basically says that over and over again as the reason for moving Too Human to the 360. I'm sure that decision wasn't based on all the money MS threw at them at all. He seems to only like the middle power hardware. Not the weakest but not the best.

I'm sure it was also based on the perception by many that the 360 would continue the trend of its predecessor and outsell the next Nintendo console, making developing for it more appealing... at least until the Wii was actually released and started flying off the shelves. Even though he never coped up to that fact in the interview.

Anyway, I really see Dyack as a great visionary, with solid, original ideas and grand plans for his titles... which sadly are just more than his company can handle given their track record, which could be due to a number of things like size, resources, etc.

Yep. I'm not surprised at all... although I love the fact that you can throw pieces of her suit that fell off. I do wonder how this impacts the rest of the match. Like if she will only stay in the Zero Suit until the next life is lost, or if the change stays for the rest of the match.

Game needs more giant monsters...

How could you not like Moore? He was way more honest then most, making comments that might make PR people shudder (the whole Wii + 360 movement he started when the PS3 price was announced) but that in reality played well with those who heard it.

Shame, as I really can't see him being that interesting when representing EA Sports... although at least he will still likely provide some colorful commentary on the systems out there.

Man, I hope Activison fired who ever thought having him spearhead their conference was a good idea...

Has anyone else seen the gameplay footage? Much better than I had expected, and easily one of the better looking Wii games to date. So fluid, so awesome... can't wait.

Senior director of anti-piracy for Nintendo of America? Man, I wonder what a normal day is like for that position.

I'd snatch it up in an instant if it's true.

Yeah for Jeremiah Cohn! ;-)

Glad to see more Nintendo support from Atari this generation.

It will be interesting to see how high this generation of Pokémon games goes in sales, considering on that chart it's 2 vs. 3 for the others.

Do I have to give back the bathroom key when I return my badge, or can I keep that?

Man, Bridge of Eldin looks simple but great... the fact that King Bulblin appear to populate it, somehow, has me really interested.

1. Like I mentioned a few posts back, I neglected to capture Dialga when I captured it.  Should I restart my game?  Or is it not a big deal to not have this Pokemon?
2. I have a Kadabra at Level 50 and finally figured out it won't evolve because it needs to be traded.  I put it up at the GTS, asking for another Kadabra in return.  If that trade goes through, will it evolve into an Alakazam?
3. How does a Sneasel evolve into a Weavile?

Thanks...

1. Probably not. Dialga isn't allowed in the Battle Tower, and the most common form of Wi-Fi battles is typically a no-"ubers" gentleman's clause. If you are into that, though, then it might be worthwhile to restart... although that's a lot of work for one Pokémon.

2. I believe so.

3. Equip a Razor Claw on Sneasel, and level it up at night to evolve it. It's worth noting that you will lose the Razor Claw in the process, though.

This is the greatest update of all time... Giga Bowser looks simply amazing now too. Just look at his face:

I'd say he has the greatest looking character model so far. He looks to be even bigger than he was in Melee too.

I sense a Funhouse spinoff topic sometime in the future related to this "anti-intellectual" versus "pseudo-intellectual" argument...

So, in case news hasn't spread here, word on the street is that Revolution, as of last night, has banned legendaries from random battles? Sounds like a good move to me... now all they need to do is toss Wobbuffet out...

Sony’s in a tough spot, but by adopting a strategy of more product placement, won’t it just turn off the very customers the company’s trying to woo?

Their PR has been so bad already, at this stage they might figure the userbase they have isn't going to leave for anything... and that it might be time to milk it.

...or they still just don't understand how easily information travels over the net (even despite their spyware CD fiasco), and how, in this case, those that would read this article are the one's who will care about the issue the most.

Probably only if a lawsuit related to it gained traction, which would be about the only way I could see the general media start to take notice of it.

Yeah, it's crazy to release both of them so close... although I'm very worried for what that would mean for Godzilla: Unleashed too, as it's rumored for a release around then too and I can't see it faring to well against both Brawl and Galaxy for gamer dollars.

EDIT: Also, I suspect, of the two, Galaxy would be more likely for a delay... considering we know a lot more about Smash now (and the game seems very far along) since the site relaunched.

Not so:

Most will be, but not all going from that comment.

Same, it has been on the decline as well as it used to last much, much longer. I got mine on launch day, though, and have plugged a lot of hours into it (300+ in Diamond alone...) so I'm not too surprised that the battery is taking a beating.

More of an excuse to get a Lite someday, I suppose.

Kerry would have took it if Perot ran, as he would have split the vote for Bush much more; in the same vein that Perot cost Bush senior his re-election.

I thought a diesel fueled PSP2 was already confirmed?
