Nintendo Gaming / RE: Resident Evil 4 Discussion
« on: April 13, 2004, 02:28:23 PM »
BTW, my DivX encode of the Resident Evil 4 trailer is finished.  If there's someone who wants a direct link to a copy of it for the purpose of sharing it or hosting it off their own webspace (this DOES NOT mean you get to share the direct link I give you) feel free to email me or PM me.

It's cleaner, clearer (not murky) than last week's trailer (the one that also had Killer 7), looks better than Fileshack's current copy, and is properly deinterlaced and properly cropped so the in-game footage takes up the 640x480 image space as it should.  Other details:  3min 54sec, 54.1 MB, 640x480 DivX 5.1.1 format.

The Killer 7 trailer will be done encoding shortly.  I've got class now, so I'll be back in a couple hours.

odified, you have a PM.

I am pretty upset by this.  Eternal Darkness is my favorite GCN game, afterall.  It's a title I've waited through and past the N64 years, was happy to hear about its next-gen upgrade, bought it on release day, and was happy see SK really deliver on this product.  Naturally, I've been waiting for another original, intelligent SK title like this (on a Nintendo platform, of course), being something with water-tight story/gameplay/logic unification.  The breakup news disturbs me, since future developments seem uncertain now, considering how well-suited I thought SK was to Nintendo.

In any case, I hope SK remains close to Nintendo, and excuse me while I explode.

This reminds of StarFox Adventures...

Developer:  "OK, we're done, here's the game."
Nintendo:  "Thanks."
[both parties wave bye-bye to each other]

That's what Rainbow Six was good for... you and your online teammates storm an embassy in under 2 minutes flat, no good guys are hurt, 16 terrorists are dead, and all that's left is the terrorist with the bomb and 30 hostages in the foyer.  You all creep close the doorways, some take a peek to assess the numbers, and you're waiting for a GO Code to rush in, then -- you pop your partner in the leg with a silenced pistol, so he's limping and doesn't know who the hell hit him -- then you turn around and blast another teammate in the head with your sniper rifle -- scares the terrorists by luckily you kill him before he detonates the bomb!  The rest of the squad rushes in to clean house -- you drop a frag grenade in the room -- KILL EVERYBODY -- and have LOL good time!

Umm, NO.  I'd get banned.

That would be Duke Nukem Forever, of course.  YEAH BABY GUNS AND BABES AND BUBBLEGUM.

Animal Crossing could very well become The Matrix (*cough*).  Why?  Cuz you generally won't be concerned with stat-building and killing thingies, which quite a few notable online games have.  Instead, you got your character, a nice little house, and you chill, not "hi, how you doing?  I'm fi--"  *PK*  "hahah User: teknoRad45 stole your armor."  I wonder if theft would be included as an Animal Crossing gameplay mechanic.

Will Daikatana 2 show up this year?

The most utter disregard for life in a game is in Lemmings.

And Rainbow Six PC, multiplayer Co-op.

Link obviously represents good, Ganon obviously represents evil, and Zelda obviously represents utter stupidity (it's all her fault).

Let's NOT get into the graphical discussion, cuz I haven't seen one objective, comprehensive, VALID review/comparison yet.

That reminds me of the joke with Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Invisible Man...

I mean, if you fought Ridley, then you've basically got 2 minutes worth of walking and jumping between Ridley and the final battle.  It sounds like you didn't beat the final portion of the game, which is kinda strange since there are no serious puzzles involved at this point; you simply just take Samus there when you're thru with Ridley.  I didn't/don't mean to sound mean.

You saw Ridley and... got stuck?  You gotta be kidding me.  Finish this game, THEN you can start anticipating Metroid Prime 2.  Keep things in proper order.

17372
Many thanks.

Those screens are a year old.  It seems to be the result of GameSpy's updated article/media system, since the IGN-GameSpy merger.

17374
That GameSaves Memory Card Manager's looking even better now.

17375
I'm having trouble seeing why you can't copy the file from one card to another, provided that both cards are in both slots and the destination card has enough space.

For transferring save files to a PC via USB, you can use the GameSaves Memory Card Manager.  It's $19.99
