Here's a couple observations from watching the trailer:

1)  The scene where Leon kicks off the ladder was not continuous.  The first scene showed the chainsaw guy climbing up.  Suddenly, there's a scene change, and we see the chainsaw guy falling down well before Leon is able to kick off the ladder.  There's obviously a few frames of missing footage, and I assume Leon probably shot this guy in the head to shake him off.  With that, I can't readily conclude that Leon can kick the ladder off while someone's still climbing it.

2)  The lake scene shows the RE4 graphics engine has real-time, reactive hydrodynamics (think Wave Race: Blue Storm).  As the boat and the monster tread over the water you see the nice foamy splash textures kicking up, but in addition to that the lake surface waves and deforms as the boat and monster cut the surface.  Considering this a action/adventure type game, I'm really impressed it has this feature (well-executed too) at all.

I like RS's water better.  It's justifiably opaque, as the water you find off various non-Hawaii coasts are, has that wonderful glittery sunlight reflection effect, and doesn't have that simple-lifeless-passing-textures-over-a-flat-3D-plane look you get from PS2 and N64 games.

I do not agree with that.  Space-flight missions were more fluid, yes, but the terrestrial flight missions were unstable.  And sadly, the Luke/"bike" missions only ran at 30fps, half the framerate the rest of the game tried to be at.  Factor 5 was trying to push more polygons than they should have, which to me is "bad" engineering in the way that they were going *over* their resource budget.  I believe they didn't maximize the 3D engine within proper limits, and instead pushed on with "MORE MORE MORE!".

Bad physics, cheap AI, rediculous "original" scenarios, and overall weakly ported GCN titles (Sum of All Fears GCN, Ghost Recon GCN, Splinter Cell GCN to an extent) are some of the things that deter me from buying into Ubi Soft's "Tom Clancy" games.  I've been wary of Ubi ever since they swallowed up Redstorm (god, I miss them) and took over the Tom Clancy license.

Good ol' Redstorm knew what non-linear gameplay strategy was about, AND they stayed closely tied to Mr. Clancy's written universe, which makes me wonder how a "one-man-hero" game/story like Splinter Cell ever came to light.

There might be different beam weapons, though similar to the last ones.  There might be different visors, though similar to the last ones, and new things for boths cases.   And probably another missile type.  You're also probably commenting on the updated HUD, which is slightly more colorful now.

The GC collection also has the video interviews with the series original developers, which I think would be more valuable to Mega Man fans that go way back.

BTW,  www.minibosses.com
Metal-remixes from Mega Man 2.  I bought one of the last copies of the EP.  IT ROCKS.

Dang, though I'm not Fileshack, I'll say I'm sorry.  People must be downloading those Half Life 2 trailers like mad; I just know that most of the time I try downloading (from the San Francisco server) I only wait in line for a couple minutes or less.

Oh, and just like any other free downloads site, things screw up from time to time.

ok, here's my build of the Resi4 trailer:
http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=4803

I think this is the best looking copy at a reasonable filesize for a so-called "high-quality" encode.  I heard IGN Insider had a 100MB+ copy, which I think is rediculously huge and painful if it's Quicktime -- they might as well have uploaded the original DVD rip:  the *.VOB file I have for this trailer was just 134MB.

Capcom USA's website says the release date is June 22, 2004.
Capcom hasn't clearly given out enough details to answer the rest of your questions, but "exact translations/emulations" are heard often.

Rated "M" for "meh."

"Losing it" gets old, which is why I won't pay for a game where "losing it" is all you do.

I've noticed somewhere nowhere that the use of violent media to relieve stress leads to the yearning for more violent media.  How can some people, under 17 years of age, be so stressed?!

I like Zelda too, for the simple purpose of being immersed in a "living" active environment.  Stress or no stress.

Take karate or something.
