I think it's totally hilarious and completely ridiculous.  When a company does it I think it's funny, but if somebody I know gave this to me as a Christmas gift I'd be horrified.

What creeped me out was the baseball player with 25 on the back of his jersey.  That's the number I always use in sports games, since it's the day of the month my birthday falls on.  For example, in NHL 09, my jersey says LINDEMANN 25 on the back.  When I saw that the player in the calendar had that same number, I did a double-take!  Too creepy!

The upcoming Final Fantasy game has a new feature you might be interested in.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=20432

Inside Games is reporting on a new feature in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.  Players will apparently be able to save screenshots to their Wii's SD Card.

The screenshot functionality allows for shots to be taken at any point in the game, whether it's during gameplay or during a cutscene.  The shots also get stamped with Square Enix copyright information in their bottom-right corners.

Square Enix has set up a website to which gamers can submit their most epic screenshots, in the hopes of winning prizes.  The submission window is December 20 to 24.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers ships December 26 in North America.

DSiWare application lets you easily count down to important events.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=20428

Nintendo is bringing a new productivity application to DSiWare in Japan next week.  It is a calendar/event planner application entitled "Nintendo DSi Calendar", and will be released on December 2 at a cost of 200 DSi Points.

DSi Calendar

The core functionality of the program is to provide a countdown to important events.  Up to 110 events can be added to a user's list, with pre-loaded events including "Graduation Ceremony" and "Pay Day".  Custom events can also be created by users, and sorted by event type.

The calendar is meant for daily use, giving you a greeting each day and informing you of seasonal events.  It also gives you congratulatory messages on special occasions, such as your birthday.

Like the recently-released 530 Eco Shooter, Nintendo DSi Calendar was developed by Intelligent Systems.

I wouldn't toss Duke Nukem Forever out there as any sort of example of anything regarding game development, good or bad.  In order to be used as an example of development cycle, the development cycle has to actually end, and the game has to ship.  DNF was a disaster from start to...well, I would say finish, but that didn't happen.

I really need to finish Majora's Mask.  That game lost me half-way, it just became too obscure and cumbersome to play.  I really felt like it required a strategy guide to play through with its seemingly completely random time-based puzzles; I pretty much hated it.  If you weren't in the right place at the right time looking at the right thing, you'd be completely lost.

Movies & TV / Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

Blood Work - One of those movies that happened to come on HBO while I'm drinking coffee in bed on a Sunday.  Directed by and starring Clint Eastwood in what can best be described as a poor man's Dirty Harry, if DH was an elderly heart transplant patient.  Terrible dialogue, overacting galore, and if you want cop-movie cliches they're all here.  Watchable if you're just looking for something to pass the time (and feel like laughing at cop movie cliches), but still pretty awful. 4/10

Gran Torino - Seems like it's Clint Eastwood week for some reason.  Eastwood does his best "crusty old man" here, which is good for a laugh (especially the racist one-liners - Kashogi should watch this movie with a pad and pen).  Predictable ending, but entirely not the movie I thought it would be (in a good way).  Not great, but good.  If you're an Eastwood fan (I'd say I'm a casual Eastwood fan, he's had a LOT of **** movies but I like him in general) you'll enjoy it, but some may think it's utterly average and predictable.  7/10

GamePro confirms that a sequel is coming, but to which platform?
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=20420

GamePro's January issue has an exclusive reveal of the next title in the Puzzle Quest series, Puzzle Quest 2.

This is the first confirmation of a direct sequel to the 2007 multi-platform hit Puzzle Quest.  A follow-up title, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, was released earlier this year, but did not receive the same critical acclaim as the original.

Based on GamePro's profile of the game, Puzzle Quest 2 will have an Xbox 360 version published by D3Publisher and developed by Infinite Interactive.  However, no official publisher, developer, or release date information has been announced.

TalkBack / Tetris Party Deluxe Coming to Wii

Germany's USK software rating board spills the beans.
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=20417

In a filing submitted on November 26, Germany's USK (software ratings board) has revealed Tetris Party Deluxe.

Listed as coming to the Nintendo Wii, the title will be published by Tetris Online Inc., who also published the original Tetris Party for WiiWare in North America and Europe. There is no developer listed, but the original game was created by Hudson Soft and released in October 2008.

No release date for Tetris Party Deluxe is known, and it is currently not clear if it will be another WiiWare game or a disc-based title.  The game is receiving a USK 0, indicative of no age restriction on the title in Germany.

This big change will probably be something like Link having wings throughout the entire game.

I'm not expecting anything drastic...I feel like Zelda is Nintendo's Dragon Quest now.  God forbid the formula is changed or the faithful will end up rioting.

Good luck GP, you'll be missed.  Also hit me up in LOTRO, I'm playing pretty much daily now...that is, if you still feel like gaming.
