Terminator Salvation is by far the worse. All the aesthetics are wrong. The plot nonsensical. It has Sam "**** off already" Worthington. No plasma rifles in the 40 Watt range or converted plasma weapons. Christian Bale as much as I like him had two modes in this movie, quiet and screaming. Anything not in the opening sequence was components of a movie jumping the shark.

I only liked the opening sequence because it had gratuitous nuke usage and A-10 runs. It was the closest the movie ever came to showing us the future war or war of any kind. The rest of the action was just utter junk.

T3 at least tries to follow Jame's vision and in parts succeeds.

www.theguardian.com/world/2014/nov/24/cesspool-excrement-explosion-destroys-chinese-building

Quote
A cesspool filled with excrement has exploded in central China, injuring 15 people and knocking down a building, state-run media reported. The blast was apparently sparked by a local man burning waste close to the cesspool, igniting methane gas which was emanating from the pit, the Xinhua news agency said late on Sunday.
The incident in Zhangjiajie city, in the central province of Hunan, caused a residential building to collapse and three of the injured were taken to hospital, Xinhua said.
China’s urban infrastructure has often been hastily built with little regard for safety, as hundreds of millions of people have moved from the countryside to cities in recent decades.
In another excrement-related incident, a man and his mother both died trying to retrieve his wife’s new mobile phone – worth 2,000 yuan (£210) – from a toilet septic tank, reports said in May.
The man jumped in to try to locate the phone but was overcome by fumes and passed out, according to Dahe, a web portal run by the provincial government in central Henan province.
Bring your own puns.

I guess it was uneventful from a certain point of view.

Blood is an easy and logical way to impart impact as a visual cue. OT Star Wars has no blood, but when a storm trooper takes a shot to the chest, it is visibly nasty. Hell they even took the time to show one storm trooper trying to take care of another.

In the end I suppose it is just bad film making which PG-13 compounds it by compromising the process from start to finish.

You know, I like Terminator Salvation, and wished they had continued that series.  I didn't mind moving the series to PG-13, as to me blood is not necessary for this story to be scary or ruthless.

The movie I didn't like was Terminator 3.  I thought it was shallow, and I didn't care to see Judgement Day, because what that turned out to be was pretty uneventful.

This got me laughing. Yeah at least half of humanity disappearing in nuclear fireballs is uneventful.

Fear of blood and PG13 is a agrravating American movie cultural aberration that needs to die. It bloodless death reinforces violence without consequence. Yeah, in both cases the person is dead but without the blood the death is disconnected from reality. This is the culture that for some reason finds the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons offensive and refuses to make new classic BB cartoons, instead what we get is Two and Half Men: the cartoon or "Buzz Bunny".

Jai Courtney is Sam Worthington. Generally generic white dude with no charisma, completely interchangeable. They cast them as everyman or some jacked up version of one, but being flawless and flawlessly boring they don't represent a everyman like the one Bruce Willis in Die Hard brought to life. John Mcclane was great because we was flawed, he had issues to deal with before the violence, got injured in ways he didn't just walk off like he did in the later movies which were much closer to cartoons. It showed being a hero can seriously suck which made his triumph all the sweeter.

There is no rule that say they aren't mutually abusing each other.

One of the problems with AOS season 1 was that every episode they felt that they had to remind you "New York" happened. It was really unnatural compared to Season 1.5 where they moved on from NYC to dealing with the fallout from the Winter Solider in an organic manner instead of name dropping it like it means something.

Another problem was that there wasn't enough material in the Project T.A.H.I.T.I arc to hold a season together. You can only drag something like that for so long before people get disinterested or disengage being dragged around for so long.

Ward and Skye were a real drag to the show with ward somewhat continuing to be so. On the other hand I am pissed they broke the relationship between Fritz and Simmons. There relationship had a really good flow to it. I don't mind Trip and Fritz hanging out being bros. But it went from cruising along then 100 miles an hour to nothing. The Man isn't dead Simmons, he got brain damaged and it wasn't your fault.

One of the problems with Enterprise was that the times had changed. The explosion of content produced an environment where waiting for a show to get good wasn't getting tolerated by viewers anymore. With the increased competition shows need to hit the ground running, especially now where things are so unforgiving even brilliant shows are getting chopped like Almost Human, but there were earlier casualties like Firefly and SG:U.

The worse thing about it is that it didn't need to happen. You would think with the amount of Trek experience on hand you wouldn't need to piss around for 2+ seasons till you had a good show. Also **** that openning song.

The difference between Star Trek and Star Wars is the former is Science Fiction while the latter is Science Fantasy.

I enjoyed the First Ted so this looks pretty good "complications" and all. They should release two cuts of this movie. Where's Kunis?

They need to take out the fucking shakeyness out of the action shots, I was having ST:Into darkness flash backs. JJ needs to grow the **** up as a director, even the hated GL doesn't use them. The effects overall while incomplete/rushed, is still beat the prequels by a long shot as it returns the used universe feel. That x-wing porn shot, is that Fat Wedge?.

If I never see Tatoonine (Pleae blow that planet up) ever again, I would be a very happy moviegoer. I know it's cheap to film in a desert but come on. That chick looks a lot more like Padame than Leia  if it is supose to be Leia since it looks like they cast some one too young looking for the role.

I was hoping they would ease back on the Force, but nope, welcome back to more stupid light sabre designs and fuckers in black cloaks with Batman voice.

The good news is that Star Wars gets a black guy. Whether he is going to be some in joke or Lando-like is going to be the question.

No seeing this movie until the dust has settled.

He didn't need any help. He made plenty of rope to hang himself with. Anything I did or perceived to have done to him paled to his own insanity on the road to suicide by mod.

Bob's Burgers strikes again with Thunderdome and Fat Burt Reynolds. I can't believe how long the setup for some of the jokes are. A good bit of brain exercise keeping track of all the happenings in an episode.

Since the Anime thread just doesn't get enough material to keep breathing, anybody got recommeendations on some good recent shows? SAO 2 recovered from awfulness of GGO. Space Dandy was just great.

Hell No. You have no idea what hell that would unleash

The customer might not always be right but same applies to companies. He would defend the most terrible **** to 110% because of his hardon for companies. You end up talking at him not to him as he never reconsiders his position even when factually wrong. Even when he might be right it would be for the wrong reasons.

Sounds awfully like him. The dude not only likes to go to bat for the Mega Corps, he would gladly go to the wall for them no matter how heinous the crime. Dude had issues.

Funny thing is that I like how the Walking Dead story is spilt right now as it really helps avoid Season 2 syndrome of people just holding up in some hole with the occasional zombie moaning. I wish they would leave the state of Georgia, but that's not happening, so the next best thing is to split people up to cover more ground and see more bit of the state.

I didn't know what TLC meant until a year or so ago. I always thought it was "Tender Loving Care Crass" for all the **** on that channel. When I found out its real name, it was a real WTF moment.

I hear History isn't really about History any more either since it replayed WW2 the nth time. Now they are chasing aliens and ghosts.

Just cut the cable already America, its not worth it.

Live. Die. Repeat / Edge of Tomorrow

Great fun movie.
It was like Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers vs The Matrix.
Acton was good, fair amount of comedic elements and entertaining throughout. Definitely worth the rental/purchase.

I much preferred the original Japanese source name All You Need is Kill. Admittedly it would have confused the **** out of western audiences though.

Last years Snowpiercer was a fantastic movie I somehow missed. Great action, excellent pacing, wonderful performances and though provoking if you're up for it.

Did someone make you watch those movies BlacknMild? If someone is hurting you, you can tell us. It is safe here. We can help you.
