Don't say that Castlevania won't be represented.  Simon Belmont has every bit of a chance to make it into Brawl as Solid Snake has done.

Anything can happen with Brawl.  Anything.

To be honest, there are a LOT of characters that offer a slightly different flavor this time around. If you think they’re all going to be the same as they have been, it’ll be rough for you.

Oh snap.

Oh my, oh my.  Let the tournament Smash junkies start their collective ranting...

*sits back to watch the onslaught*

So excited that there's customizable button configurations.  Love it.

I think the new Ridley/boss battle rearrangement is great.  It definitely picks up steam toward the end, though.  But it's great stuff nonetheless.  Can't wait to hear the full theme.

Plus, maybe this is a hint that Ridley is a possible secret playable character.

Wii remote turned sideways? Gah, that blew my mind. Here's how I think it's going to work, though. I might actually like this setup, too... now that I've given it some thought.

--Wii Remote Only--
Left/Right D-Pad  -  Move character left/right. Double tap to dash.
Up D-Pad  -  Jump
B Trigger  -  Grab/Throw
A Button  -  Block / Evade (To evade, hold block and thrust the remote either left or right; same principle applies for air dodges and sidestepping on the ground.)
- Button  -  Taunt
+ Button  -  Pause
2 Button  -  Primary Attack / Smash Attack (To initiate a Smash attack, double tap direction on D-pad)
1 Button  -  Special Attacks (in conjunction with whatever direction is being pressed on D-pad)
**Tilt up/down  -  Aim weapons

See, very possible. Plus, I love the idea of motion based evasive maneuvers. I think that would work better than motion based attacks like most people are thinking is going to be the case. Sakurai's playing with everyone's heads right now. I love it. :P

Oh, and I also think by Sakurai's comment of "If I get the chance to tell you, I will...", he means that Brawl will either be demonstrated by himself or playable at E3 next month.

Well, it's Remote/Nunchuk for me.

It would be intersting to think that 5 or 6 player Smash is now possible, though.  O_O

No thank you.  I prefer reading to listening to people ramble.

Awww. you're missing out on a really great podcast then.  RFN is good stuff to be had.  I couldn't go through a week without it. ^_^

I'm one of the few that actually adores Zelda II.  I love the game.  I think its battle system is great, and I love the magic casting, too.  I wish current, modern Zeldas took upon this style of Zelda gameplay, too.  And with Twilight Princess, we're starting to get a bit of that style.  Who knows, the next Zelda is going to be so dramatically changed, according to Miyamoto, that we may very well see something so far beyond what Zelda II did for the Zelda series on the NES.  I can't wait!

I'm gonna go ahead and post my favorite quote from this podcast, and this is probably going to be posted to my Facebook account, too...

"What are ya playin'?"
"Pokemon."
"I'm grabbin' a chair!"

Love it, guys.  Keep up the hilarity.  ^_^

Yes, I definitely agree.  Pale, Mike, and whoever else reads this concerning NWR...  let's get another Pokemon meet-up together real soon.  This is such a great way to get everyone together.

I had a great time battling and chatting with Mashiro last night.  He was very nice, and yes, he whooped the crap out of my Pokémon -- level 70-ish just is too overwhelming for level 20 critters.    But it was a BLAST.  Can't wait to do it again.

This forum is great for bringing other Pokémon trainers together.  Keep up the great work, NWR!

Yep.  Nintendo said that we would know the release date by September, not in/during September.  And that's why knowing everything else there is to know about the Wii will occur during the Leipzig Games Convention.

Personally, I'm excited most about finding out about Nintendo's direction with the Wi-Fi/WiConnect 24/Virtual Console aspect of the console.  I'm so ready to see console interface pics.  I wanna see how this baby looks after starting it up.

Other than that, Evan I'm not vain in any way shape, form, or fashion for believing that Nintendo will launch this console in October.  It's fully believable and possible, too.  I still stand by the notion that it will launch on October 2nd.  Leipzig's on August 23rd -- which leaves one month and almost two weeks to prepare for launch day.  But let's not kid ourselves here... the reason all of this would be possible, is because Nintendo has been planning this launch since before E3 this year.  Everything is adding up correctly for them this time.  And in the end, it's all gonna work.

Nintendo is back on top.

There are over 50 different kinds of flash cards, I doubt Nintendo will support more then one due to the fact the SD card is a partnership with panasonic

50?  Any electronics or digital photo-based store I've walked in to carries pretty much SD, CF, xD, or Sony's exclusive memory sticks/cards.

SD and CF are standards.

I still think Wii Sports should be a pack-in with the Wii at $199 anyway.  The system SHOULD come with two controllers -- especially if Nintendo really wants to represent the "ii" in Wii well.  It only makes sense.

Considering how much crap comes out of 3rd parties these days, I think I'll be a-ok if none of that junk ends up on my Revolution.  EA can kiss my Nintendo-loving arse for all I care.

nitsu, I'm right along with you in that protest, too.  I've told myself from the very beginning that I wouldn't buy games that were made for multiplatform - with Beyond Good & Evil being the only exception.  That game is pure heaven.

And yes, it is absolutely ridiculous that the GameCube and Nintendo fans are getting treated this way.  Hello?  Sony doesn't have a "set-in-stone" online plan for their PS2 either.  Geez, Blizzard... grow some balls, will ya?  I know of a lot of GameCube owners who were extremely excited about this game.  But Blizzard decides to give us the shaft instead.  I won't be purchasing StarCraft: Ghost for either of the competing systems.  Thanks Blizzard.  Thanks a lot.  You WOULD have had a sell by me for this game...  too bad on your part, though.

I am SO with you on this.  If Resident Evil 4 can come to the PS2 downgraded, then Soul Calibur III is most definitely gonna come to the GameCube upgraded.

I'm not gonna have it any other way.
