Nintendo Gaming / RE: Nintendo Power to have a preview in next issue!

Awww, I still haven't received this issue in the mail yet.

Also, I'm concerned as to how Nintendo Power is going to be handled once it's pushed over to Future US.  Are NP's writers going to still be writing for the mag, or will Future US have it's own set of writers now?

Either way.. I love NP, and I can't wait to see this newest issue.

Yep, it's  in Melee, too.  You can even go as high as 64 players, too.

I'm glad to see it return.  Now, if they'll just add in WiFi functionality to the Tourney mode.... that would be great.

I love my Nintendo Power magazines.  I hope the writers get to stay, though.  I'm gonna miss that blue slime if they take it away...

Unfortunately, Bill... it looks like there's not going to be a "Loli Brawl" mode after all...

Sorry.

Maybe we should start a petition and send it to Sakurai stating that we want more diverse stages that ARE NOT platforms?

After all, Smash is a fan-service game.  What happened to stages like on the first Smash?  I want my terrain stages!

I'm sure Ceric means because we're not physically fighting on the ship ala Fox McCloud's Great Fox stage from the previous two Smash games.  I, too, agree, Ceric.

I didn't say I wasn't going to enjoy playing as Pit, Bill.  :P

Pit's land AND air based.  Sothe would be a primarily land, up-close, combo-type attacker.  Extremely fun to play as.  Not that Pit won't be fun to play as.. like I said.. I'm looking forward to it.

I still think Sothe is going to make it as a playable character since he's the star of FE10.  Plus, it would be extremely awesome to play as a character who wields dual daggers, and would be (I would hope) almost as quick as Fox or Falco.

Bull. Most of the people who buy Brawl will be people who bought and enjoyed Melee, and they will almost ALL have a Gamecube controller connected the first time they play.

Bull to you, Dirk.  I've been playing Melee heavily since 2001 when it first released, and I'd say I'm as hardcore about Smash Bros. as the rest of the Smash Bros. community...  BUT...

...I WILL NOT be playing Brawl with my GameCube controller.  It's Nunchuk+Remote for me -- that's the only way.

I'm still hoping Luigi carries the Poltergust on him permanently; as he could have a specific moveset based on that alone.  Here's how I would do it:

Up+B - Shoots a blast of air downwards propelling him into the air (recovery move) / used standing it would create a poof of air so strong that would smack opponents backward.
Standard B - Pulls the opponent toward Luigi, sucking them into the vaccuum / push B again to shoot them out causing MASSIVE DAMAGE.
Forward+B - Shoots out an element shot / fire, water, lighting (each with it's own damage percentage) / smash + B for this move would build up the charged element.
Down + B - Charge Jump attack (Super Mario Bros. 2 style) / smash down + B to jump even higher (ala Super Paper Mario)

There ya go.  That would make Luigi a distinctly unique character in Brawl.  It would do away with his copycat clone moves in Melee, though.  ^_^

Confirmed!

Maybe Toad serves as other functions now, too.  Maybe he's a reflector AND counter attack?  Could be...
