In other news, Tesla built a death ray, created a small earthquake through resonation, and claimed to have built an energy field.

Tesla was a genius, overshadowed by the intellectually inferior but more politically savvy Thomas Edison.  He invented alternating current, the Tesla coil, remote controlling, and many other ideas ahead of his time.
He was also a very good friend of Mark Twain.
One day, he invited Twain over to try out a new invention of his.  It created high frequency vibrations, an engine meant to run off of its own vibrations, but he was also curious about its possible therapeutic and sensual qualities.  The vibrations were quite intense, you see.
So, Mark Twain is happy to try out Tesla's new invention, and Tesla starts it up while Twain stands in front of it.  He finds it immensely enjoyable, but Tesla warns him that he should get off before too long.  Mark Twain refuses, insisting that he's enjoying himself too much.  Tesla suggests that maybe he really should get off now, but Mark Twain stays on longer.
A little too long.
The vibrations of the machine liquified his bowels and Mark Twain shat all over himself.

Nicola Tesla was pretty much the coolest guy ever.
Discuss.

Oh ho ho, I'm a humorous fellow.
I am not the guy with the shoe-crotch/sword (though that is my shoe).  That's my friend James.  He's funny, but not nearly as clever as me
The guy with the bandana is also a good guess.  My friend Adam, a cool guy.  Not really into gaming, though.
Guy lying face forward is another good friend, Andw.  So you three, though wrong, get credit for picking cool people.

Vudu, you lose.  You picked the random homosexual guy who I'd never even met before that night.  Seriously, I don't even know who that guy is.  I think his name might be Joseph.

Guess again guys.

I have pictures somewhere I bet.  Lemme find em.
No good ones on me, though.
Edit: I do not even know what that last sentence is supposed to mean.

Also, PICTURES:

TOO BIG FOR TV

Guess which one I am.  You should be able to, Bill guessed it first try.  I was impressed.
(His second choice, if his first had been wrong, was the other Gamecube owner in the group .  He's good)

Maybe more later, if I can dredge them up.  I'm not a real picture-takin' kinda guy.

blol, I thought it might be too big.  I'll just link that sucka.

Ian, I don't think a pound is even twice as much as a US dollar.  A couple of pounds could be just four or five dollars.

"...and how Nintendo fans made fun of playstation's graphics this gen, but are now saying graphics don't matter."

Oh please.  They've been saying that since the start of the PSP vs DS debate.

I like how all the Playstation fans didn't care about graphics this generation, but now they're all up in arms about "Nintendo is underpowered."
I'm with zakkiel on this one.

This game, hard?
I die maybe once before I figure out exactly what to do, assuming I die at all.  Which is more annoying than difficult, because the second time around I beat it no sweat.  Just means I have to die and backtrack.
Metroid Prime 2 kicks my butt compared to this game, and I don't even die as often in MP2.  Dying is not equivalent to difficulty, in my opinion.  It was easier to live in MP2, but I got more of a beating.  I just had to retrace my steps less in MP2, thanks to that.
Does that make any sense?

I don't even know how the Napoleon thing is relevant (), but Ian, I was referring to the games you'd be able to download onto Revolution.  I don't think they should have a bad launch or a draught, but that's 200 games you can download, and I doubt anyone has played all of those games.

Depending on how accurate it is?  It could be used for unmessy practice, learning how to cook, and it could be fun.  Challenges could be included, like Mario said, and why wouldn't there be a story?  I don't see why it needs one, video game stories are generally crap anyway, but if you insist.
Really, you're just being narrow minded and kinda stupid.  They're perfectly capable of experimenting and trying different games, including more experimental games like cooking and incorporating new controls into the standard, story driven games you apparently like.

Wow, that's incredibly diverse, and most of the stuff I recognize is really good.
Cool stuff.  I probably won't be getting this game, but it's got a great soundtrack.

« on: November 07, 2005, 03:07:47 PM »
Eh, I've got to say it's a little overrated.  I'm on the second disc now and it feels like I'm just doing the same thing over and over again.  Still incredibly fun, but not the best thing that my Gamecube's ever seen by a long shot.

"People bought it initially because (despite Nintendo's insane attempts to prove otherwise) people saw it as the GBA followup and thus it sold well by riding on its predecessor's coattails."

You don't think Revolution, assuming that it has a bad launch/drought, can't ride on the coattail of every console Nintendo game ever made?

If only I had money.

Oh wow, this game is sounding better and better.  I hadn't originally intended to get it, then I was thinking hey I kinda want this, then I was outright "Holy freakin' crap I'm excited and also drowning."
All in the matter of about a month.

Also, TYP wrote this up, Bloodworth only posted it.

Revolution only needs to start as the second fiddle.  Once everyone tries it, buys one, finds out how great it is and how much they like it. . . they'll forget about the other systems altogether.
Assuming Nintendo can pull that off.

I never had a problem with the GBP price.  I got it for forty or fifty dollars, but at the time I had no Gameboy.  I just had that to play Gameboy games.
Still don't have a GBA, I just got a DS.  Still use my GBP, though, I prefer the controls on it.

I'd love to play this, and while I like pinball, other games get priority.  Getting a job and buying the games I want is first on my list, I may eventually get around to buying this.

Assumption is the mother of all whats, again?

Edit: I know that Nintendo's hardware is not as capable as the other two next-gen consoles, but your exaggeration of the issue is ridiculous.  The 2 to 3 times more powerful (which I assume, based on who said, means 2 to 3 times as nice looking) is a lot closer to home than 20 to 30 times more powerful, which was totally misleading.  Nintendo is being modest, and they may have to be, but I suspect they're being more modest than they need to be.

I'm glad he's going strong with Nintendo, but I still think he was way too harsh on Gamecube, and especially the DS.
