Aww man, too bad about PH. But like JonLeung said, there ARE too many DS games to play right now so I guess the delay is ok.

I've just tried my AR (the one that includes the Freeloader 1.06b) and it works perfectly on my Wii.
I read somewhere that some system update disabled the use of AR on the Wii, is it true?

I've been playing for 8 hours+ and I agree with everyone else: controls are great!!
I'm having so much fun that I only play for like 90 minutes straight ONLY  each time so I don't beat it too quickly! hehe

Errr, that's a good question vudu! lol
I didn't think about that. Well, he doesn't play videogames at all and I guess I didn't want to ask yet another favor (the Wii story was pretty crazy).
I don't even know if he was a wi-fi network at home (I don't think so).
What happens to the bricked Wii btw? what goes wrong with it? can it still play games?

Hmmm, it's odd, I just double-checked and I don't see any number up there...
Oh well, I believe I have the original firmware on it since I bought it on launch day at Amazon.com
I also noticed I'm missing 2 options in the "Wii Settings Menu 3" (I've seen that on a Wii FAQ on Gamefaqs):
- Country
- Wii System Update
Mine only shows "Language" and "Format Wii System Memory".
Anyway, I'm waiting for Nintendo to release the ehternet-to-usb adapter to go online but I'm also a bit freaked out about the possibility of "bricking" the system.

Nintendo Gaming / SD card adapter?
« on: December 08, 2006, 02:58:51 AM »
Hi guys,

I was wondering if it's still possible to buy an SD card adapter for the GameCube.
I've searched everywhere online but couldn't find any.
Thanks

Go to the Wii settings menu (the one that lists options for sound, screen, sensor bar, parental controls, etc.). I believe it is in the upper right.

Well, I've tried that and I don't see anything on the screen that indicates the firmware version.

YAY! My Wii is finally here!!! (well, at the post office, I have to wait for a little more than an hour to get it)
So that means I'm still getting it a day early than European launch. Oh joy.

Actually, Amazon.com sold out of their launch units in less than 30 seconds. I know for a fact, I was there, spent the whole day on the comp and snatched one (got very lucky, for once!).
Now I want to play with my Nintendo Wii, I can't wait anymooooore!

Bah, my Wii is still "stuck" in Cali.
Amazon took a week to ship it to my friend and he hasn't been able to send it yet.
Man, I feel so unlucky...

Nintendo Gaming / I'm doomed with wi-fi :(
« on: November 29, 2006, 08:38:06 AM »
Hey guys,

I bought this USB adapter that actually creates an access point on your home PC using your existing Internet connection.
I thought it was a pretty neat alternative to a wi-fi router.
Well, I can't seem to make it work. I've been emailing Hercules' support and they're actually really nice but after doing everything they told me to, my laptop (this is what I've been using to test the connection) can see the wireless network, can connect to it but I still get no internet on it.
It's like a "ghost connection" and it's really really weird...
So yeah, I'm very unlucky with wireless:
- first, I get the Nintendo wi-fi adapter and it turns out it's imcompatible with my firewall (ZoneAlarm),
- now this.
This sucks

ps: the USB wi-fi transmitter I got is this one

I'm sure you can get it to work with Zone Alarm, it's completely configurable. You just need to open the ports that the WiFi Max program uses.

The Nintendo Wifi USB adapter (the official one) DOESN'T work with ZoneAlarm, it's actually written on Nintendo's site:

"Zone Alarm Security Suite: in order to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector, Zone Alarm Security Suite must be completely uninstalled from your computer. Simply disabling (turning off) this program will still not allow a successful connection".

Thanks! I don't have my Wii yet but that's gonna be very useful.
And just so I know, what's the latest firmware version?
franky005: hmmm, this makes me wanna wait for the usb-to-ethernet adapter being released in January...

chris1932, be careful: if you're using ZoneAlarm as your firewall, the Nintendo Wifi USB connector doesn't work with it!!!
I know, I have ZoneAlarm and bought the adapter without knowing...

I have a question about the firmware: is it possible to know what version is installed on the console? (via a menu or something)
I'm still freaking out about the whole firmware update bricking the system and I'm not so sure I want to go online with mine, since it's imported from the US to Europe, I couldn't really send it back to Nintendo if it bricked.
