Both Team Fortress Classic  and Team Fortress 2.  Lost months of my life on those games if you just go by the gameplay time.

It's been awhile since I played but I recall a nearly naked Bayonetta running all over the place.

"is funding and going to publish Bayonetta 2?"

And did you even play the original to notice the difference?  In the first game, every time she uses a combo she loses some of her suit and yet from the trailer for the sequel that's no longer the case, she remains fully clothed even after main specials were pulled.  That's the Nintendo difference and it's pretty clear to see.

Kinda reminds me of Fire Emblem 3ds and it's "ass-cover up".  NoA goes out of it's way to "protect" it's image.

Would NoA even localized Atlus games to the US?  Nintendo North American branch seem to only want to publish big 1million + hits and Atlus games are in general small cult following types.

Some of Atlus games have more "adult themes" which wouldn't have been greenlit though NoJ (AKA people shooting themselves in the head).

Sony would be a better fit overall out of the big 3 but I rather see Atlus stay with a smaller independent publisher.

Would skip over DMC HD collection and just start with 4.  DMC 4 demo really doesn't do the game justice, the actual game has some nice combat moves/weapon switching and two different playable characters with their own style.

Really depends on the gamer though, some fans found DMC4 to easy though compared to other entries in the game.  If you're looking for a challenging game then I would go with DMC (the orginal not the reboot) or the Ninja Gaiden series.

Have you looked at sales data?  Hardcore sales on a Nintendo system have always been the low ball with a few exceptions like Soul Calibur 2 and a few others.

Publishers need to make a profit (and one large enough) to justicfield porting an game.  It can cost up to 1-2 million just to port an game (modern games anyhow, indie games are a lot less).  To make an 2 million for publisher the game would have to sell over 100k to retailers.  Sales data has most WII U ports have been less than 50K meaning most publishers are going be losing money just to make a few fans happy?  While you'll at it why not cry for some Mac support or Vita?

Long, some Japanese humor, but it's RPG elements are a bit weak, the game is fairly easy.  I finished it up with a couple of side quests to go around the 50hr mark or so.  I would say it's similar to DQVIII if you ever played that?
It's an ole-school JRPG with a very light hearted story line which I love :0.  If your looking for an strategy RPG or combat RPG then this game isn't going be for you.

Retro Studios is 1st party developer, meaning Nintendo had fully control over the quality which is a lot different that allowing an 3rd party team at it's IP.

Sega's Fzero was the only one that developed an "Nintendo" quality game.  1 for 3 isn't that great in terms of odds.

209
"Nintendo needs to contract all of its western partners to make such games as Star Fox, Metroid, and F-Zero to name a few."

Well handing over IP's hasn't helped Nintendo in the past, Namco's Starfox or Team Ninja's Metroid ended up hurting the IPs image and future sales.

"If you really think these specs are going towards stuff like better artificial intelligence, you're just crazy and/or gullible."

LOL, not sure what you're talking about but developers are already adding tons of advance AI to next generation games.  Adaptablitity is going be an huge improvement.  For example if you keep taking shortcuts in racing game the AI wll adapt to your playstyle and either take the shortcut themselves or block you from taking it. In fighting games they Ai will counter you more often if you continue to do the same combos.

Interactions is going be another noticeable feature.  Not only will you have more objects in game but they are going have true to life physics.  One of my pet peeves in video gaming is the "disappearing bodies" or fading.  When I blast through a room and have to return later in the game I want the room the way I left it--bloody bodies and charred walls.  :)  With more memory and CPU power you're not going have to deal with fading anymore.

Pikmin was always rated high in Japan but it never sold all that well in any region.  Both Pikmin GC games sold around the 1/2 million mark in Japan so you really can't expect high sales.

In fact RTS in general don't sell worth beans on consoles regardless of title.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Super Zombi U, I'm freely warming up to it
« on: July 09, 2013, 11:17:09 AM »
Publishers get like only $20 or less per/game sold.  Of course sold means sold to wholesalers/retailers not consumers so you'll have to factor in all the Zombiu games on shelves as being sold.

Still lets say there's 1/2 sold WW with another 100K on shelves that leaves 600k by $20, which is 12 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some of the blame lies with Ubisoft though; the game had it's flaws, the title zombiU wasn't marketable, and it was released at a poor time of the year for an new IP.  Ubisoft tried selling the game through all the hype it received at e3 but there was to many Zombie games in the past few years to make this one an 'standout'.

I still think Killer Freaks would have sold better :(--I wonder if they would reconsidering making that?

PC's dont' get enough Japanese loving for my taste--hense why I'm an Sony fanboy--I need my JRPG/Strategy games fix.

Either I can upgrade my PC (my current specs are medium-end--quad core/4GB ram/1GB VC) for $500ish or buy an PS3 which would play just about everything I want anyways minus a few exclusives MMO which I never bothered to get into.

My buy price of the PS4 is going be around $300 or so--so I'm going wait a year or so after launch but usually there's no major RPGs at launch anyhow and my backlog is still freaking high.

"Ymeegod, they did announce on the stream itself that it's 8GBs of GDDR5 Ram."

Like I said, they said the GPU has DDR5 not that the entire 8GB was DDR5.  Hense split configuration.  That's my theory anyhow.  Just like an current PC.

There was some gameplay screenshots anyhow--the car demo and Capcom's Dragon beast thing did show signs of a hud.  But yeah, I'm not falling for "kllzone" in game trailer again (cough Killzone 2/E3 show cough).

And I dont' think Sony stated it was 8GB of DDR5--people assume that but I think the official word was "fast memory" which could be just DDR3.  Or they could even have another mixed configuration.

Not loving the whole game-touch-pad thing or the whole kinect copy/move stuff.  Rather keep the price low and dropped those "features" altogether.

Happy about hearing about "crossplay" with the vita--now we have to see if Sony can make it happen.

No price point--I'm guessing we won't hear anything official until fall --I'm expecting at least $400 with maybe a crappy tossaway game bundled with it.

Those are from two differenet people.  John paid $400 for WII/vc stuff while and nintendo accredited his account with $200 WII U E-shop cards while the other guy bought $570 worth of stuff, nintendo refunded his account in full + $50.

Two different outcomes, one guy got the short stack while the other guy made out pretty damn good since like he stated they refunded 100% of his investment + $50 additional dollars.

"would've known that he wouldn't have been able to, just like everyone on this forum knew "

Actuallly Nintendo has the ability to restore his account, they do it all the time with "stolen" systems and this one is similar case.  Most likely the "retailer" sent the unit back to nintendo so tracking it down shouldn't be a problem.

Went ahead and picked up Diablo III for $30 (highest I paid for an VC since 2008).  I kept missing those $10 deals (Toys R Us + Microsoft Game Store)--still overall pretty pleased with it since I imagined to get a few legendary items within a few minutes of online play.

Also nabbed Persona 4 Arena--$20+tax.

And lastly picked up FFIX for $5 from PSN.  Couldn't find my 2nd disc so this is more or less my replacement.

And you assume the game is actually finished?  It really wouldn't take Ubisoft 7 months to port the game over to PS3/Xbox 360 since the game is built around the original Rayman Origins engine (meaning the middleware engine is already good to go).   Even without the ports I would assume Rayman would have been delayed anyhow.

Just because an release date was set doesn't mean Ubisoft was finished with the game.
