I just bought a JPN XBOX 360 and a couple of games with it. Let me tell you what buying a used system in Japan is like:
Each unit is priced differently based on its condition. Apparently the one I bought was marked down a lot due to scratches on the console's case. It was even cheaper than some of the older models because of this (I got the 260gb elite or whatever it's called).
When I bought it, the cashier opened the box and showed me the condition of every individual part. I also got a free HDMI cable for some reason. Then I enjoyed a complimentary massage, complete with happy ending.

- you will only be escorted out if you get caught. You can try again.
- security fluctuates year by year, and even by different entrances. Some security people might just kind of eyeball badges, others will go over them one by one with a blacklight.
- you can make something that looks like a badge and possibly get in if nobody looks at it too closely.
- use your blending and camoflage techniques that you have learned from video games and lizards.
Of course, it's possible to get in just by knowing the right people and getting a badge from some ghetto ass company like Hong Kong Software Warehouse Leasing Inc or PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF KOREA MINISTRY OF VIDEOGAMES.

The d-pad SUCKS if you have to reach for it and I imagine face buttons wouldn't be so hot either. Having the analog sticks in the secondary position is the lesser of two evils as they aren't nearly as hard to use in that position.
I disagree. It's better to have the dpad in the secondary position. And it's not a weird stretch on the 360 controller or anything and I don't even have giant gorilla hands. I feel like if anything is going to have problems in the secondary position, it's the stick, because being slightly uncomfortable with the angle will make it awkward to play, unlike with the dpad.

Today is the first day that I considered that I might actually buy a Wii U. I pretty much *only* care about a "traditional" gaming experience. While the 360 controller isn't super fantastic, it's the least bad of this generation. (What can I say? I'm a controller snob)
This actually looks better than the 360 controller to me, because of
- a nice big dpad that will probably be precise and light to the touch
- buttons that might not be mushy analog bullshit
Now, if the rest of the system features cater to me more than some grandma, I might actually be sold.

Yeah, I heard the old 4/now 5 test was pretty easy... I also heard the deal was the gap between the old 3 and 2 was too big, so they added an in-between one. I'm not sure what test to take, but I think I'm going to do the N4 first. I think I might have a shot at the N3 but I'm not sure. I already missed the deadline for the summer test, so it looks like I'm going to take it in the winter, so lots of time to practice, I guess.
