Really, is he quitting out of ranked matches? I only really played SFxT online for one day so maybe I was wrong about it punishing ragequitters. SF4 and MVC3 kinda murder ragequitters so I didn't think they would change that.
The gaming media certainly seems to be slobbering all over Sony's Battle Royale. From the same people who have said "I'm not interested in Smash Bros." I think the bias happens at a subconscious level.
I like to think it's being produced as a Smash Bros for people who hate Smash Bros. Does that make sense? I mean, I don't give a rat's butt about Sony's characters or PS3 in general, but I'm very interested in this game. It seems to me that, other than it's a 4 player fighter, they're taking a completely opposite design philosophy that may succeed in winning over the people who lost interest in Brawl for whatever reasons. I think there are a lot of those people, and that's how I feel about it. I don't think it's a subconscious bias. And also because nobody actually likes PS3.
Well, ragequitting sinks your rating pretty hard, just like it does in SF4 and MVC3, as far as I know. So, once you fight your way out of the lowest ranks, they pretty much stop happening forever, because those guys that ragequit never make it anywhere.
As for the lag, that's weird, since SFxT actually has better netcode than SF4. I guess the only thing you can do is check and make sure something else isn't sapping your bandwidth, make sure you're using an ethernet connection (not wireless).
Congratulations on the purchase of a fighting game~! It's good that you like watching matches a lot, because that will enable you to borrow (steal) a lot of smart tactics.
How much are you looking to spend on a multi-console fightstick? You can get the PS3/XBOX+PC KOF fightstick for 99 bux from Play-Asia.
Although I think that game is butts, I'm pretty interested in watching the EVO tournament because it's 2 man teams (and I mean two-on-two human players) and the teamwork might be more important than the game fundamentals. Maybe.
As much **** and smites as I give you guys, TJ and broodwars, I appreciate your well articulated posts in the threads I post in, and the content in the more Nintendo-ey threads that I don't post in. You might have a little more fun posting if you embrace the beloved forum badguy role~
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Powers That Be here have some sort of programming string to automatically add 1 smite every time certain people post, because I've just seen way too many "coincidental" smites as soon as I drop a new post. Either that, or there are an awful lot of pricks around here who just have no lives whatsoever, because even I don't write that many controversial posts and I've rarely seen TJ there post at all lately.
Someone that's not me should make a shmup megathread. I've caught shmup fever again and would post in it a lot. Are there any shmup wizards on the forum?
EVOLUTION (EVO for short) is the world's biggest fighting game tournament. It's also the world's biggest tournament. It's also the world's biggest live tournament for anything. Seriously, it made the Guinness book last year.
In case you can't make it to Vegas or whatever, you can watch it live. On multiple streams!
~ MAIN EVENTS ~ Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Street Fighter x Tekken Soul Calibur V Mortal Kombat King of Fighters XIII
~ SIDE TOURNAMENTS ~ Super Street Fighter II Turbo - Tournament of champions. 32 man tournament featuring legendary old people who have been playing this game for like 20 years, as well as some who qualified in via some other tournaments. - $3000 fight money
Skullgirls -Autumn Games will be contributing $1000 to the prize pool -The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive custom FoeHammer dual-system fight sticks
Virtua Fighter 5 -SEGA is throwing down $15,000 for the VF5 side tournament at EVO. Hot damn!
I imagine there may be side tournaments for 3rd Strike, MVC2, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, etc. There is a bring-your-own-console area so side tournaments may pop up at any time!
Other stuff: Panels, maybe announcements about stuff, yadda yadda yadda.
I hear the extradition treaty they have now is kind of one-sided in the U.S.'s favor... I hear that's a thing.
I can't really imagine the U.S. handing over one of their citizens without at least a lot of footdragging, bargaining, or bad juju for whoever signs off on it.
More seriously though, of course he should go to trial. Extradition to the U.S. though? No way. And it seems like the UK authorities are potentially with me on this one.
Yeah man **** criminals, they don't deserve any rights. He's not an American citizen so maybe they could have just saved some money and killed him with a unmanned drone.
