Nintendo Gaming / Time Splitters 2
« on: May 25, 2003, 11:40:39 AM »
The multiplayer is overall quite smooth, with the occasional slowdown. It's really fun, and has a whole pile of options, including ones that need to be unlocked.

TalkBack / European GameCube Release Schedule
« on: May 14, 2003, 05:09:17 AM »
Yes Europeans are definately getting the shaft. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is being released at least 6 months after the North American release, and F-Zero about 2 months later. Once they show more North American release dates we will likely see much earlier release dates for the US and Canada for many of these games. At least the FF:CC release dates are somewhat close, and Europeans are getting the Game Boy Player and Wario World at the same time as NA.

Nintendo Gaming / I this true or just a rumor?

I couldn't imagine how much Microsoft would bastardize the Mario franchise if they took it over. It's of course false.

Got Burnout 2 at the EB in St. Catharines, Ontario, last copy after being on the shelf on the shelf for a couple days. I think I must agree with you guys that this game was undershipped. Come on Acclaim, have faith in us GC owners! I'm quite pleased with the game. Nice looking tracks, smooth framerate, an exciting and fun crash mode, and zooming fast gameplay. It'd be nice if it had liscenced cars and random weather but that's something we can hope to have in Burnout 3.

TalkBack / Splinter Cell Moved UP
« on: March 26, 2003, 07:19:30 PM »
Wow! I wish I have a larger bank account. With Zelda: TWW, The Sims, Rayman 3, Splinter Cell, Def Jam Vendetta, Burnout 2, NBA Street 2 and Ikaruga being released in the months March and April, the Gamecube is really holding its own. Time to warm up my Wavebird.

Nintendo Gaming / When the FLIP is Mario Tennis coming out?
« on: March 15, 2003, 05:31:38 PM »
>> Mario Tennis will come out about 3 to 5 months after Mario Golf. Mario Golf comes out on July 28th 2003, so expect Mario Tennis by next year...

Where have you heard that Mario Golf will be released on July 28th? Is there a link?

TalkBack / Game Boy Player Delayed until June
« on: March 13, 2003, 09:04:35 PM »
I don't know whether to believe this or not. This past week NOA changed the expected release dates of Wario World from May to June and F-Zero from June to August, and then all of a sudden changed them back to their original dates. If you check the NOA website the Gameboy Player they show is platnium colour yet I hear it will only be available jet black, and now a price increase and a pushed back release date?  Sigh. The further adventures of Nintendo.

TalkBack / EA To Focus More on GBA-GC Connectivity
« on: March 06, 2003, 09:13:56 AM »
Yes! Tiger Woods 2004 is coming to the Gamecube. I was so worried that it would get the axe. The 2003 version is great and I can't wait what they will add into it. I'm crossing my fingers for a true tour mode, a slightly harder difficulty, and maybe obtain the rights to have Augusta National. It will be interesting what they will add with the GBA-GC connection. It's just great to see EA still stands behind the Gamecube.

Nintendo Gaming / a thing N should do?
« on: February 14, 2003, 06:11:34 AM »
Considering I can pick up an N64 for $40 Canadian (approx. $26 US) at several gaming stores and pawn shops  in my area, and they are still quite easy to find, I don't see any point in Nintendo spending the money adding N64 functionality on the GC or GC2. Like theaveng said, it would be an added cost to the manufacturing of the Gamecube system for something that would do little to improve sales.  Also, the N64 is a dead system, so Nintendo would get little or no liscensing fees if people bought N64 games since they are mostly found used. The reason why the Gameboy Player will likely work is because the potential user base is large, it would be nice to see the GB and GBA games on a large screen, and new GBA games will be released for at least another 4 or 5 years so Nintendo will be able to get money from the sales of new games.
