Nintendo Gaming / Project HAMMER NOOOOOOO
« on: June 14, 2007, 11:21:31 AM »
http://wii.ign.com/articles/796/796612p1.html

I was excited about a good old fashioned brainless "hit things with a stick" game. I hope this turns out not to be true.

General Gaming / Spore

We need a thread about this amazing game. I can, without a shadow of doubt, say that I am more excited about Spore than I've ever been about any other video game ever. The sheer open-endedness of it has me enthralled, and I can't wait to get my hands on the editors. When this game is released, nobody will see me for weeks.

Nintendo Gaming / Custom Robo

I picked this up for $10 with that awesome sale EB/Gamestop was having, and I'm having a blast with this game. I was afraid I wasn't going to be a big fan of it, but the story is interesting, and the battles are fun, even if they are a bit repetitive. Definitely worth $10, and definitley better than most of the reviews said it was.

General Gaming / It's official. PS3 is made of fail.
« on: December 29, 2006, 04:18:09 PM »
In the eyes of consumers at least.

View This

A brand new 60GB PS3, and the auction ends for less than retail price. This, along with the fact that my store has PS3s just hanging out in the back, tells me that demand for PS3 is right around the demand for a system that's been out for a couple years, which says to me that Sony has failed their launch.

Thoughts?

Nintendo Gaming / So do we know if Wii is capable of LAN play?
« on: November 27, 2006, 05:24:04 AM »
I mean, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be. But you'd think if it was, they would have bothered to add this option into the multiplayer of some of the games. *COUGHREDSTEELEXCITETRUCKCOUGH*

Nintendo Gaming / Mii games you'd like to see
« on: November 21, 2006, 03:29:19 PM »
There are so many potential uses for Miis, that it delights me. Any small-time developer could easily make a (relatively) small game using Miis, and sell it through the VC.

Like in that other thread, I would love to see an arena-style Mii FPS, like Unreal Tournament, or Quake 3: Arena. Totally awesome. I also heard another good idea, which is an RPG using Miis, where you could get armor and weapon upgrades, and they'd show on your Mii.

So what do you guys think? Will the Wii sell twice as many units as the PS3?

Nintendo Gaming / Amazon out of pre-orders?

Quote

It seems some early risers were temporarily able to place a pre-order for the Nintendo Wii, at the online retailer, Amazon. The new gaming console is not to be released officially until November 19. It's not possible to know exactly how many of the consoles were pre-ordered, however, the device hit #6 on the top sellers list for Game Hardware category! So, that's a bunch!

From reading comments on the Amazon website, it was available for order beginning sometime last Friday, Sept 15. Having sold out all pre-orders the same day, this would seem to indicate a tremendous pent up demand for these devices. Some actually bought more than one!

Here is a comment from one customer that made it under the wire: "Amazon offered preorders with Wii Sports included for $249 today. With 1 day expedited shipping ran $283.83. No absurd bundle required. They began taking preorders this morning and had sold out of preorders by 11 am cst."

Is this really why Amazon was taking pre-orders for a whopping three hours? I can't find anything else about it, so it might be bull. But if it's true... My god.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo needs to ressurrect Stunt Race FX
« on: June 09, 2006, 03:33:41 AM »
srsly.

Stunt Race FX was probably my favorite racing game until Mario Kart 64. It would be sweet if they brought it back.

Nintendo Gaming / Clarification plz.
« on: May 17, 2006, 12:37:21 AM »
Okay, so we saw the "classic controller" for the Virtual Console. Now the real questions is... Is it the "shell" they were talking about that would allow you to play more traditional next-gen games? If you ask me, I say no, for the main reason that Nintendo (unlike Sony, apparently) knows that the majority of modern games use the analog stick, not the D-pad, and it would be silly of them to make the shell the way the classic controller looks. I don't like the idea of having to buy yet another attachment, but I do like the idea of the shell being more... modern.

Nintendo Gaming / Revolution Redesign
« on: January 26, 2006, 07:18:52 AM »
I know, I know. The system isn't out yet, so it's early to be talking about it, but I've been thinking. With GB, Nintendo started the whole system redesign concept, to make stuff smaller. Now, this has never (to my knowledge) carried into their home consoles, and I must say, I'm thankful for that. My question is that, with the popularity of the PSone and the PStwo, do you think that Nintendo might, in the future, redesign Revolution. I know it seems silly, considering the system's already itty bitty, but do you think they might?

Nintendo Gaming / Hooking up to a monitor
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:40:06 AM »
Last I knew, the Revolution was still being touted as capable of hooking up to a computer monitor. Now, my question is: Why?

I mean, the only CONCEIVABLE reason I can think of for a game system to hook up to a computer monitor, is to be able to run the games at higher resolutions. Yet, we already know that the Revolution will not feature High Def output.

So... Why on earth would we WANT to hook it up to a computer monitor?

General Chat / Uncalled for use of force? I think so.

This is bullsh!t. At a rave party in Utah, called Versus 2, SWAT police, decked out in full body armor, toting assault rifles, and launching tear gas, stepped WAY over the line of proper police behavior. The party was completely legal, with permits acquired, and on private property.

At the very beginning of the raid, the police ordered that ALL the equipment be shut off completely, not just the music stopped. Almost right after, they ordered to be given the microphone to speak to the crowds, despite that they had just ordered everything shut off.

Numerous people were beaten, and had attack dogs set on them, despite the fact that most of them were not doing anything wrong. Multiple people were beaten and arrested merely for asking "What's going on?"

People who were videotaping what was happening were ordered to hand over their cameras, or face arrest. They weren't just ordered to shut the cameras off, they were ordered to give them to the police, or put them on the ground and leave.

Such events are a CLEAR violation of personal rights, and frankly, I'm disgusted by this.

Video of event+police raid

Eyewitness reports, including reports of police brutality

Police side of the story, complete with irrelevant evidence, and bullshit about no permit

I don't even know what to say about this except, "F***ing bullsh!t."

Nintendo Gaming / No Revolution at E3?
« on: April 19, 2005, 03:34:35 PM »
I assume that most have you have probably heard the rumors/news that Revolution will not be making an appearance at E3, due to Iwata's "fear" that Sony and/or Microsoft will try to steal their ideas for the console.

So far, I haven't seen anything that looks remotely official. It's all "It is possible that..." and "We've heard..." and "Nintendo might..." Until someone comes up with a direct quote from Satoru Iwata himself confirming this, I for one will not believe it. Or, maybe I'm just holding on desperately because I really, really want to see the Revolution in action in May.

What do you guys think?

Nintendo Gaming / What characters would you like to see in the next SSB?
« on: January 25, 2004, 07:37:41 AM »
That is, assuming there's going to be one. I'd have to say that Viewtiful Joe would be an absolutely perfect addition. I mean, he already has his moves all planned out and he even already has a double jump. He's perfect!

General Chat / Time for the "Identify The Song Lyrics Game"
« on: June 07, 2003, 06:28:58 PM »
Okay, so here's the deal. Someone posts a lyric from a song and the next person who posts guesses who it's by and/or what song it is. I'll start it off.

"Three for the kings, of the elfs high in the light, nine for the mortal men, and cry"

General Chat / St. Anger=Teh Suck
« on: June 01, 2003, 05:17:29 AM »
Anyone else heard this song? Anyone else think it blows almost as bad as "So What" did? I mean, there isn't even a lead guitar in the damn song. Which means there obviously isn't a guitar solo. That would be the one thing that could save that song is a guitar solo.

General Chat / Mmmm... Metallica...

Did anyone else watch the MTV Icon: Metallica thing? It was pretty sweet. I liked the Korn performance and, obviously, the Metallica performance.

General Gaming / Deus Ex and IW
« on: May 03, 2003, 06:33:22 PM »
Does anyone here have the original Deus Ex or is anyone planning on getting the second one? I have the first one and haven't beat it yet to my shame. I stopped playing for about a year because of some random reason I can't remember. I just started up again and got re-addicted. I can't wait for the second one.

General Gaming / Who still loves their PC over consoles and why?
« on: April 26, 2003, 05:46:46 PM »
I love my PC over consoles for many reasons. First, there are SOOOO many more games on PC than on any console or even all of them combined. Second, mouse aiming. It is so much better for FPS' to be played with mouse and keyboard. Third, I don't need to pay for memory cards and controllers. My hard drive is big enough and my mouse and keyboard work fine for all the games I play. Plus, I love my computer anyway. Even without the video games. So, WHO'S WITH ME?

General Chat / Lieberman should be shot off the planet.
« on: April 12, 2003, 03:14:40 PM »
Ever notice the first three letters in this guy's last name? "Lie" He should just figure out that we only play these games for fun, suck it up, sit down, and shut his trap. Playing video games actually helps me release my anger when I'm pissed off. It's the brick wall which keeps me from killing someone. Why is the media, and government, intent on destroying video games?

General Chat / Time for complaints.
« on: February 22, 2003, 05:33:35 PM »
The off limit topics bother me. That list encompasses almost everything I find interesting about people. Why not just ban talking about yourself and other people in the forum, it'd be easier. Are you afraid of a flame war? Suck it up, it happens everywhere else. I have to say that this forum is WAY too up tight. Just ban people who get too far out of line instead of not allowing people to talk about that for fear of a flame war.
