Nintendo Gaming / The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker General Help
« on: April 17, 2003, 02:33:07 PM »
I am having problems in the earth temple. I have gotten the dungeon map, and the treasure in the door on the right of the room with the weird fog. But I can't get past the room on the left. There are 2 buttons on in the middle of the floor. When they are both pressed, stairs open up (or come down) to the door at the top. What I can't figure out is how to get up the stairs to I think push the big box over the edge.

I been warming up with this pc game: rRootage. There are 4 gameplay modes, one of which is Ika. It can be pretty hard and an addrenaline push too. I been hooked on it and I think I will get the same from Ikaruga.

free game: RRootage

That game that I downloaded makes me want Ikaruga even more now. Just have to decide between Burnout 2 and this for the month.

I found this link to a game on the IGN boards which is very much like Ikaruga. A good warmup on the more difficult settings. Have to change to Ika mode. Use arrow keys to move around and Z button to fire. I still waiting on  a reply from someone there if you can change colors to absorb other ammunitions.

rRootage

Edit:  Figured out that pressing the X button will switch your color. Good thing. Back to playing this. Damn addicting.

Not to mention it is against the Geneva laws of war which every country agreed to. They were harassed and shown off like trophies. Not to mention executed too.

I think the best is just starting for the Iraqis. From the south in Basra, to Baghdad itself, and to the north in Kurdish controlled area there is celebrating and to me looks like pure genuine happiness and celebration. So what if they are looting, let them a little. They have been suppressed for almost 3 decades. They deserve a little party time. I myself got goosebumps from watching it all live on tv. The civilians are starting to realize that we are there to liberate them, not take over them. And that we were not going to leave them on their own like in '91. Just like seeing your favorite underdog team win a championship, except in this case it is a population getting back it's country from evil.

The news reports from within the police jail (aka torture chamber), gave me slight visions of when I visited the Holocaust museum years ago. True it is a smaller scale in Iraq, but the basis is the same. People were hung by arms, hands, and maybe even their feet by cords and whipped or electrocuted to near death if not all the way.

On a side note, I would like to see the minister of (mis)information (Baghdad Bob as Fox News Channel has dubbed him) be the second person taken out if not for plain stupidity, then for blatently lying all the time to the press like when our tanks were a few hundred yards right behind him during his breifing on top of the hotel.

You are wasting all that ram. ME doesn't know how to release programs from RAM properly. One problem with ME is that it wants to say where to run programs in ram, rather than letting the program themselves deciding it or the processor. So it looks in site A for space, but everything else wants to put it in site B. ME doesn't want to go into site B and freezes or crashes because it didn't get to do what it wanted. I have had no such problems of any kind after XP drivers for everything came out. I got a copy of XP about 3 months early from MS and the only issues I had were video card and raid drivers. But since then, do driver or program issues at all. I have even been able to run my computer for 2 weeks including installing, uninstalling, opening and closing programs, and moving files around. All with no problems at all. XP is night and day better than ME. Often times, when one problem is fixed in ME, another one arises if not the same one days later.

Nintendo Gaming / rogue leader in progressive scan....how?
« on: April 01, 2003, 07:44:33 PM »
You must hold down the button every time you turn on the system. If you just quit a game and let the idle movies play, it will stay on in prog scan. But if you turn the system off, you'll have to press the button. Except one time, when I started up either Prime or WW, it asked which mode I wanted to start up in since I had both cables plugged in.

It is the same for all games, just hold down the B button. You won't see a picture at first, until it switches over.

Ok, now I am stuck in the next puzzle hallway, the one with the balancing platforms. I can get one statue over to the other side across the platforms. But i can't take anything (statues or pots) in with me to place on the button to turn off the laser beams that block the main statue. I can't find anything in the room with the laser beams to move around. I even consulted my roommate and he can't figure this one out.

The first room has 2 regular statues, an eye on the right wall, a door which can't get to on the left, and a weighted switch on the far side of the room to open the gate to the door on left. I can't figure out how to get the 2nd special statue out to the middle area that all the hallways connect to.

Isn't there a switch for Link to stand on while the statue moves through the room?

Ah damn, I didn't even think to use what I just got. Now I have now I have bow and arrow. Thanks.

I am in the tower that comes up. I have placed the first statue but can't figure out how to get the 2nd one out. Should I have the bow and arrow by now? It seems like I need it for opening some paths to move the statues. What to do?

I have the tuner and the sail. I have tried to sail to other islands, but it makes me turn around. The boat tells me that I have to go to the next place on the map, but when I try it turns me around. Should I have the bait bag by now?

I finished the first dungeon and back to Windfall Island. I can't go to anyother islands. And there are dozens of little what look like crowns on the ground. Am I supposed to do something with those? How long does night and day last? Real time? Cause I need to take pictures too but no one is ouside. Basically I'm stuck on this island for right now.

I believe that he has his own stage. In one of the new locked videos at ign, there is one that shows the character selection screne and then a match between 2 Links. At the start of the stage pan it says "The Legend Of Zelda" and sounds like (vaguely) the Zelda theme.
