Actually if UGA (formally AM9) made any of the games in that collection, the Sonic Team stamp would be sort of justified.

You should have no problems playing any DS game on an imported DS system.  The system is region free (and include the same languages for the DS boot menu).  If you currently use Nintendo Wi-Fi, your friend code will be different with the new DS, but that has nothing to do with how you obtained the system.

Ummmm, if Nintendo were to "shut him up," that would not cause "the biggest Ian Sane post."  OH SH

Yeah, I agree the hoverboard concept is a bit flawed with the Sonic franchise, but what I played was fun, and that's more important.

Smash_Brother, Nintendo released a version of the GameCube WITHOUT 480p support.  Isn't that *worse* than what Sony did?

Well, he often plays the role of Supervisor nowadays, and those games vary in quality.  The last game he co-Produced (with Miyamoto) according to MobyGames was Pikmin 2, though I believe he played a notable role in Animal Crossing Wild World, too.

Let me put it this way: when was Super Princess Peach announced?  For how many E3s have we heard about that game?  Gee, I don't remember seeing it at E3 at all!  How many times have we seen New Super Mario Bros?  Hm, well, I remember playing it last E3, and we had footage a year before. Yeah, I'm not worried.  It's being brewed slowly for the fullest flavor.

lol.  Well, I'm not going to say Planetchat is the best IRC chatroom ever. I myself see it as a place for trivia, and nothing more.  There are those on staff that wish it were a more active place--I only speak for myself.

Actually, Reggie says it in the plural, so who knows?  And a year is a long time--things get cancelled in that timespan.

Takashi Tezuka is producing New Super Mario Bros. He was second-in-command for SMB3 and Super Mario World, and he seems to be playing a fairly active role (for a producer) in its development, so I wouldn't really worry.

Reggie discusses Revolution development kits, hints at a new franchise for the upcoming console, and more in an interview with Engadget.

Peter Rojas of Engadget recently interviewed Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo of America on a variety of topics, and the VP provided more than a few interesting responses.  Rojas presses Reggie on the limits of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the state of Revolution software development (the company has shipped over 1,000 controller dev kits), and what we will see at E3.

Here's a snippet on why NOA is barely discussing Nintendo DS Lite.

Have you set a timetable for when the DS Lite will be available here in North America?

We have not announced the date and we won’t be announcing a date for the foreseeable future. We are working through our inventories and our allocations of product and frankly, we are doing everything we can just to meet current demand. Japan has already announced that they will launch in early March and they have the same challenges of meeting that very high level of demand.

We need to make sure that we have enough product in hand for us to launch effectively here in North America and as soon as we feel we are in that position we’ll announce it.

Readers engrossed in GameCube-Revolution forward-compatibility may need to reassess their hopes.

Speaking of GameCube, if you play a GameCube game on the new Revolution console, will you be able to use the Revolution controller or will you have to use the older style of controller?

Well, all of the GameCube games will be compatible only with GameCube accessories, so whether it’s a WaveBird or whether it’s a wired controller, you’ll only be able to play those titles with those accessories. Essentially what we’re saying is that Revolution titles are the only ones that will leverage the new controller.

And Fils-Aime assures gamers that new franchises will be among the games leveraging the new system and its controller—whatever it may be called.  The company insists Revolution is a code name.

You can read the full interview with Reggie at Engadget.

The blank review title bug should be fixed now.  Your RSS reader may not reflect the fix for already-posted articles (I can't find a way to reload the feed in My Yahoo, for instance) but Jonny has confirmed he sees the change after reloading his reader.

This is not surprising, but yes, I agree that this raises doubts about the Revolution launch line-up.  I suppose TP + Smash Bros. Online would be a decent pair, though not having Mario at launch AGAIN would be a shame.

Fixed.  Hooray for bugs.  NOT.  There isn't a sequel because of the same reason Sega's charm is falling into the gutter--they weren't making money on the good stuff.

I have my suspicions on the blank REVIEWS issue (could be because review's title is ultimately based on a product's name, unlike news).  As for the times...I dunno!  I can't look into this until I get back to school.

Edit: Just checked out the RSS feed in Yahoo...things seem fine there (I had initially misread "hours" for "days" and got confused.  So I'm not sure what the problem is.

Oh jeez.  Well, it can be done (giving an option of save format) but I'd have to do work from multiple angles.  If we determine this is a serious issue I can provide alternatives.

But, honestly, we've been using (a different form of) this tool for over a YEAR, converting to JPEGs.  I find it odd that this comes up now.
