P.F. Chang's is ok, but it's still just American Chinese food. I've never been in Panda Express, but my friend got some one time and it looks just like the **** you'd get from one of the Chinese places in the mall for $5.

That is largely what it is, and unfortunately it is also the only dining establishment open at my university on Fridays.

I've heard that a few times, but I never notice it while editing.

Do you think if I just made his audio louder across the board, that would help, or would it get too loud at points?

When Zach cracks up we would have some ear-splitting moments.

Must make it hard to play Polo, or one heck of a Polo injury!

Both, actually. Fortunately the league has allowed me to use a modified hammer hook, and my peg can easily be fixed to a saddle for balance. The obvious disadvantage being that I can no longer lean in to my swings.

Really I was just worried that it would affect my cricket game, and alas, it has.

Target probably isn't making money on that sale, this is your chance to strike back.

Isn't Angry Birds free on Android?

I did some research and yes, you're right Adrock, thanks for catching that!

It looks like a paid, non-ad supported version will be launching soon so I will retract my statement until that point.

"Free game 'sells' millions" does show that there is interest in the brand, but of course doesn't make the point I was trying to!

I haven't played Angry Birds, but I think saying that it will be bigger than Tetris is an exaggeration. Tetris was a phenomenon that people still remember today. Angry Birds would have to be HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE in order for it to be bigger than Tetris.

Like, selling millions of copies when it releases on new hardware huge? Because it already does that.

Who?
It is the one armed man.
I thought it was maybe the six-fingered man.
Nah it was the peg legged man with a hook for an arm.

Uh no, it actually wasn't me.

never ever go to Qdoba mexican grill, they are fucking gross, and the ruined my stomach one day.

On this, we agree. Qdoba is essentially a bad Chipotle- making it even worse for the angry anti-Chipotle mob gathering in the thread, and a disappointment to me. I got well acquainted with my toilet the night I ate Qdoba.

@ BlackNMild

I don't care for the portions at most authentic Taquerias out here in the suburbs, but I will agree that the Mexican food I grab in Grand Central Market, or really anywhere in Los Angeles, is around 100 times better than Chipotle. It is just that in the suburb I live in, prices are hiked up as people see a dime-sized taco as a delicacy.

I suppose I was just comparing Chipotle to the other chains that spring to mind when one says Mexican fast food (e.g. Del Taco and Taco Bell, at least out here).

EDIT: You know, this just sprung to my mind. Anyone that ever visits Vancouver should absolutely NOT dine at Steamrollers. Imagine Chipotle, but you literally watch them take the food out of cans and ready-made salad bags. Now imagine that they don't season any of it, raise the prices, and serve it to you in a soggy tortilla. And to think, people were lining up for that s***, it just supports ShyGuy's claim that fast food can really differ by location.

I've heard some friends rave about Chipotle; they'll go out of their way to stop at one when they're on a roadtrip elsewhere in the state.   If I ever pass through there, I'll feel compelled to give it a try.

What it comes down to is that you are getting quality ingredients and portions at a decent price. The food is tasty, well seasoned, and there isn't the "mystery" surrounding it in the same way that I can eat a dish at Taco Bell and not know what has just entered my system.

Wahoo's Fish Tacos: Wahoo's bowl (Spicy grilled fish, brown rice, and black beans)

Chipotle: Chicken Burrito (black beans, veggies, corn salsa, mild salsa, guacamole, rice, and of course chicken)

Wendy's: As many chicken nuggets as I can order.

Carl's Jr. : Breakfast burger w/hashbrowns and a Dr. Pepper.

Sonic: I don't know if its just the locations that I have visited, but I have never particularly enjoyed their food or specialty drinks.

Chick-Fila: (See: Wendy's)

Dude, Star Fox Assault FTW. It has it's bad points, but I kind of enjoyed the single-player. Also, that multiplayer was awesome.

Nate, let's talk Assault on Newscast tonight. Why? I don't know.

I think the more pertinent question is: why not?

The more I think about this, the more things I remember that I liked about Assault. I say we play this at some point during E3.

StarFox Assault's single player sucked, but the multiplayer was great. Kind of a scaled down Battlefield. I wish Nintendo would go back to it; it had a lot of potential.

*slow claps*

I couldn't agree more. Actually, I enjoyed Peppy's sacrificial moment in the single player, but that was about it.

The multiplayer was quick, there was plenty of variety, and it was highly customizable. I would have made a case for it on
the show, but I figured that the chances of it getting laughed out were high.

By the way, if you don't like the accordion instrument in Jam with the Band, try subbing the (chromatic) harmonica instrument, if available. The sounds are usually similar, and you may prefer the game's version of harmonica. The most dramatic aural difference is that accordion is a complete chording instrument, but it sounds like that may be irrelevant with the editor's limitations.

James this is great work!

...and of course Jonny comes on to push his harmonica agenda. We know what you're doing!  :P:

I will kick this off by asking a couple of questions:

A) Do you find that the presentation and dramatic elements detracted from your experience?

I noticed that very quickly, the game's characters started to irritate me. I didn't care for the way they
were dressed (e.g. spider-like headphones, giant beanies, zippers galore), nor did I care for their
    contribution to the game's story.

B) Do you think that the game could have been a success without all of the zippers and teenage angst?

The game certainly wouldn't be the same, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't have been successful.
By removing all of the 'tude from characters, I would have been able to take the scenario a bit more
seriously. I understand that the development team was trying to portray how a Japanese teen would have
reacted to an apocalyptic event, but I would have liked to see them take a more realistic approach. I think
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor did a slightly better job of the doomsday in Tokyo scenario.

Of course, by removing the fashion elements one would be directly affecting gameplay. The developers could
easily think up something other than pins to power up characters, especially since magical pins are
    far-fetched in the first place.

The game's 'tude is starting to get on my nerves near the beginning.

I should have distinguished between getting on my nerves and driving me insane, the 'tude was annoying all the way through.

Despite the fact that Nintendo continually notified me that my "Elite Reward" was in the mail, I received a desktop calendar yesterday.
That's the Gold Elite Reward, as opposed to the Platinum one everybody else is talking about.

As usual Aaron, you've managed to make me feel dumb.

Adolf, a quick jump to your profile reveals your age. Assuming your age is correct in your profile, and acknowledging that you are talking about your older sister, I would say that you can't pull this kind of crap.

I had a great time with TWEWY, and ended up playing all the way through over the span of a week. After that, I sold it, I wonder if it is worth tracking down another copy. I do recall that the game's 'tude started to get on my nerves near the end.

Nathan is HILARIOUSLY funny. Are you a brit nathan? Your humo(u)r is so much like greg's... very sharp and on point.

I swear, Plugabugz isn't my alt account.

If you couldn't tell, like, from the way I talk dude, I was born and raised in Southern California.

- and as Jonny noted, Greg's editing magic makes us all sound very on point.

If thenew Goldeneye 007 games is so successful then could it rekindle interest in doing something with the original game?

That interest was already there, the reason some sort of port does not exist is primarily for legal reasons.

Nathan Mustafa from NWR Newscast drops in to help us remember Goldeneye (N64).

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rfn/24416

James took a rare week off to attend something called American football, a crude mutation of rugby involving forward passes and other nonsensical rules. His substitute is Nathan Mustafa, the newest member of the NWR Newscast, here making his debut at Radio Free Nintendo. Nathan has been called "the James of Newscast", so it was really the perfect swap.

Nathan opens New Business with an affirmation of Super Meat Boy's awesomeness, which also gives us a chance to bitch about the WiiWare size limit that is delaying a port to our beloved Nintendo console. He also explains why he likes Fallout: New Vegas despite all the things he hates about it. (To hear about Nathan's exploits on Wii and DS, check out "What Ya Been Reviewing?" on the Newscast.) Greg maxes out Wario Land: Shake It and reports on the shockingly great Sonic Colo(u)rs DS demo, which Jonny also tried. Lindy is still digging for free time in Boston, so he instead gives us a run-down of what games he'd like to be playing, and we in turn list the games we want him to play (hint: they involve videos of him rapping, like Hulk Hogan). Finally, Jonny reports on finishing several games, including Picross 3D, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Alan Wake -- listen for the latter game's tribute to James Jones.

After the break, we have a mid-sized retrospective on the original Goldeneye 007, a game we all love but have never really discussed on the show before. With Activision's well-received "remake" now making the rounds, it seemed like a great time to discuss the innovations and addictive power of Rare's first and most famous FPS. Later, we tackle a couple of Listener Mail questions about unsupported Wii accessories, Sims 3 for consoles, and even Need for Speed (a.k.a. Burnout: Real Cars Edition).
