Going to rewatch the presentation and see if I feel differently. It's already archived on twitch.

Really? Would have thought they would have done that first. Like I said I didn't see it all but what I did see I did like and how things were presented. Then again perhaps it's just me being disappointed with how Nintendo handle things, both years and is still handling t hings, that allowed this to come off better then it actually was.

In the end this is how you debut a new system. Now what Nintendo did. :(

I think this was debunked on NeoGaf as to not be an indication of the game coming but just something that was in the site code as suggested. The site is down at the moment but when it's up I'll link to the thread.

Edit: Here it is.

I'm honestly trying to keep my emotions about this in check but I really need to be see new games from Nintendo for the Wii U and I need to see them much sooner rather then later. This presentation is making me feel somewhat down about the Wii U at the moment. Not so much the graphics as I'm not sure what is gameplay and what is cinematic (think it's all cinematic but I haven't seen the full presentation) but the fact that the PS4 is actually getting NEW games and NEW engines.

Nothing like this at all has been said in regard to the Wii U. That I must say is super depressing at the moment.

As for Lego City. Well these days Nintendo won't even push their premier IPs. They won't and haven't even advertise for the Wii U system itself or Nintendo Land/NSMBU.

Wait is this true? Have they done that little advertising in the States? I was under the impression they had a decent amount of advertising airtime, just that the advertising itself was not decent, if ya get my drift.

There were commercials when the system first launched and yes they were bad. After that there has been nothing at all from what I can tell and what others have also experienced.

Which is why I'm not surprised at the numbers.

I'm torn on this. I want to play this but I really do not want to buy this at $60+ regardless of how much work went into with the other versions being $39.99. So putting off a purchase at it's release anyway because of Monster Hunter and Lego City Undercover. However if the price was dropped I would certainly put off Lego City in favor of it.

84
Curious about this as well.

Still debating if I should get both. I eventually want both but not sure if I'll even put the 3DS version to good use. Thinking the extra money might be better spent on Luigi's Mansion instead.

I think we will see the first major upswing when Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate hits. It needs heavy promotion in NA and EU.
Sadly it won't get it though. This, Lego City Undercover, and Need for Speed. EA will not push their own games on Nintendo hardware.  They've already written off the Wii U as not being apart of their upcoming plans. The only reason Need for Speed even seems to have so much effort surrounding it I believe is because Criterion actually cares about what their name is attached to.

I actually have no faith in general when it comes to Capcom. So I just expect the worse out of them.

Nope. Don't see an upswing at all any time soon.

Loved what I saw of the game at E3. Even if it was all scripted. However I'll believe it when I see it as far as a Wii U release. If it comes out on the Wii U I'll certainly get that version. Otherwise it will be a PC pickup and then maybe a PS3 one. Of course this all depends on how the game reviews.

The lack of any must buy games or any games of any kind at retail and no advertising at all I'm not surprised. By no advertising I mean zero. Not even so much as web ads or commercials on YouTube at the very least. Nothing at all.

I would like to see anything new sell well when handled that way.  February is going to be much worse. It actually would have been worse still had Rayman Legends still came out. Ubisoft was never going to advertise the game. Let's be honest here. Doesn't matter if it was coming to all three systems this month or in Sept. It was always going to be sent to die.

Things will get better. That much I'm sure of but how long it will it take is another matter. More games and better advertising when they do decide to advertise will be key. E3 is likely to be a relaunch of the system and I hope it works. Until then I hope Monster Hunter and Lego City do well but I really doubt because they will get no pushes. Need for Speed certainly won't and it looks to be worthy of a purchase as well.

What bothers me more though is how people on other forums are loving this and love throwing it in the face of others. Wanting others to feel bad about their purchases, etc. That more then anything is bothering me lately and I'm trying my best to not read a lot of threads in other places because of that and just avoid certain sites altogether.

A number of places have indeed lost their minds after this latest Nintendo Direct. Not unexpected but still somewhat troubling to see. I don't know if it's because Nintendo has been bypassing them and this latest one was to much for them to handle. Or because Nintendo is equally not giving a damn in regard to these outlets in return. They want to be the ones not caring and having Nintendo try to please them I guess. Or they were so set on the narrative of the Wii U failing to deliver that the idea of Nintendo not allowing that to happen and showing they are and will be supporting their system themselves have driven them a little insane. It makes it harder for them to worship over the PS4 and 720 when they're finally announced.

I think it's all of the above but specifically Nintendo's actions fly in the face of the narrative they would so love to have.  A narrative that Nintendo is slow and behind the times and will fail because they aren't doing what Sony and Microsoft are doing. A narrative they've been pushing since the Wii released and in the face of the Wii's success. They want to be proven right finally and thought they saw their chance but the latest Nintendo Direct stopped that.

Pac-Man would be good as a stage. As a fighter I don't know. Do they go with how he or she (if they include Mrs. Pac-man....always enjoyed that game more) is in the games. Or the version that has arms and legs. I don't mind that look but I know that freaks some people out for some reason.

I couldn't help but stare when this trailer finally played. Makes me even more curious as to what Retro Studios is doing. Monolith Soft has start to put down their cards. Time for it's sibling in development to do the same.

I really need to finish Xenoblade. It's been slow going for a while because of work, etc. However I'm so excited about this new game I'm going to make the time to finish now.

Looks good so far. They still have more to do development wise so looking forward to seeing what the final build looks like. As well as what spot pass and Internet features there are. Street pass is of course useless and I fear the game will build around that first and foremost.

The game does slow down when a lot of enemies are on the screen. It bothered me at first but I've been enjoying the game and it hasn't been enough of an issue for me to dislike the game. I haven't died from it so I feel it isn't a big deal. The rest of the game outweighs this one issue.

When are we getting Nintendo TVii? I know it's a day one launch for Japan, but when do we get it? Supposed to be in December right?

I wonder if they really did indeed end up getting it.

I think this could very well be the first game I trade in. I've enjoyed it both in terms of single player and multiplayer. Never been a big fan of Zombies but don't like these maps very much. However I think I'm just tired of the competitive multiplayer. Finally. I think I would rather play cooperative mulitplayer at this point and part of why I'm looking Mass Effect 3. Finished the campaign tonight (think I got the best ending and saw the bonus at the end which was nice) and in the 50s when it comes to the multiplayer. Thinking perhaps I should trade it and put money toward something else that I want before it's to late. Could get pretty close to half the price I paid from Best Buy.

Same here. Didn't get a prompt. Decided to check the download manager and there it was.

I think I have everyone in the thread up to this point. If I missed anyone I'm sorry. Feel free to send me a request if I did. Looking forward to adding others as they get their systems either soon or later. :)

« on: November 19, 2012, 07:31:21 AM »
It's best to send friend request from searching a person's name in Miiverse I've noticed then simply registering the friend from the friend list. The two options don't seem to work the same. The friend list is acting like the friends list on the 3DS where it gives you a provisional friend until they type in your name as well. The request from within Miiverse should prompt the other person they have a friend request.

If you've just simploy registered a person as a friend from the main OS screen the other person will not get the invite. You'll have to add them from the Miiverse which is now working fine again.
