I'm kicking myself for not pre-ordering when I had the chance. Just have to wait for NoE to put out another shipment. That is if they even do so.

To be fair that seems to be only an issue with online stores, you can find plenty of copies in brick and mortar stores.

Ah I see. Being in the US though I have no choice but to use the online stores.

I think you mentioned you ordered your copy from Zavvi.com. Word is they are incredibly slow (more so compared to other stores outside of the US sending to the US). There are still those on neogaf that ordered from there that are still waiting for their copies.

I say what I say now but I'm going to kick myself if I end up buying the game due to nothing else being out. :( Driver: Renegade was the game I was hoping to be good to be my September purchase but that has clearly fallen through. Video footage of the game speaks for itself. I guess that's my fault for hoping a third party game could deliver, at least this early. It's also a Ubisoft game so I should have known better. :(

TalkBack / Re: Dragon Quest X Is an Online RPG
« on: September 05, 2011, 03:34:56 AM »
I agree as suggested in the other thread. The Wii version most likely won't be released outside of Japan. The Wii U version will be the international release. If this is to do well outside of Japan at the levels it needs to do well (not simply they'd like as before) I won't be surprised to see NCL/SE have NoA repeat everything it says word for word and shut it's mouth outside of that. NoA I don't believe has the competence to sell this on it's own if Nintendo ends up being the publisher. So I'm hoping Square-Enix is handling it all.

This also means Dragon Quest X is even further off, even if the Wii U only version outside of Japan isn't the route they take. That drys up the Wii release schedule even more.

The game is sounding and looking more Phantasy Star Online/Universe then full mmorpg like Final Fantasy 14, Everquest 2, etc.

Video of the game.

Going to be taking a pass on this. It looks great but I never played the original and I really don't have any nostalgia reason to buy it. I'm done with DS up-ports and remakes anyway. While I might have been on the fence even with those issues the lack of online is a deal breaker for me. I know this is a remake and that's why it isn't included most likely but local mutliplayer is worthless to me an I don't really care about beating my own score. Oh well. Saves me more money in the end.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Show 3D
« on: September 01, 2011, 05:52:49 PM »
Nintendo has added a brand new weekly (I think) show to the eShop. Similar in setup to the Nintendo Week show on the Nintendo Channel on the Wii it seems it's designed to discuss the latest 3DS releases and news. It's hosted by a woman name Jessie Cantrell (who is quite charming :) ). It's presentation is more professional then the somewhat corny but still fun Nintendo Week.

The first episode covered
- Star Fox 64 3D
- Zelda Annivseary (from the concert to Skyward Sword bundle)
- top Nintendo GameBoy/Gameboy color games as well as 3D Classics
- Nintendo Video service
- Ambassador games.
- The intro to Star Fox 64 3D was shown as well.
- A two short clips where shown at the end. One of pigs and another of a guy trying to put with the ball coming towards the screen several times.

On the whole I really liked it. It would be nice if this was apart of the Nintendo Video service instead though. Perhaps up the slots to 5 and dedicate one just for this show.

Put my order through for the game today. Though it looks like it will be a while before I even get my copy due to stock issues. Might actually cancel with Zavvi if nothing happens to the order over the next few days and try someone else. They were the cheapest.

Edit:

Bah. Canceled the order. Waiting till October is out of the question. No point in having the order if they are currently out of stock. That and I since heard some negatives about Zavvi so I might try a different store.

For some reason I'm looking forward to this. Driver games have always interested me and I got a weird feeling about this. The sense of speed might be an issue as said though. I wish more gameplay was out for it though. Ubisoft deservedly so gets a lot of crap about it's games but with Ghost Recon I'm willing to go on a bit of faith when it comes to certain franchises they decide to push. Driver: San Francisco seems to be well done from watching gameplay. I don't think they'd crap out the 3DS game with them trying to rebuild the franchise and taking both games back to just driving.

Nintendo Gaming / New North America 3DS Commercials

These were posted on Nintendo of America's YouTube channel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFgd925epv4 - Nintendo 3DS - Press Comments TV Commercial

Also on Nintendo.com they're listing the Wii (both colors), 3DS (all three colors), and DS (shows the DSLite, DSi, and DSi XL together) as separate units in an image. Not lumping the 3DS in with the DS. You have to click the "Expand to view hardware" link.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo Video

I think the bottom advertisement on the Nintendo Video Is... was changed. It's the 3D Classic Xevious. Not sure it was that before. I think someone on another forum thought the music in one part of the Pizza Quest video was changed. Meaning the video might have been re-uploaded. Same with the Nintendo Video Is... video.

If that is the case then an "updated" tag should be used instead of "new".

Here's mine. Finally. :cool;

Mii = NeoStar9X
FC = 4768-7464-8745

Feel free to add me.  :) If you add me please send me a PM so I can be sure to add you back. I do have Resident Evil: The Mercenaries. Should be getting Dead or Alive at some point in the future as well. Mario Kart 7 without a doubt will be mine as well. Hope at that time we could get a NWR meet up if the game allows for it.

Still wish we could make groups so the friend list is more organized.

I wasn't sure if I was going to get this but I watched the trailer again on the eShop and I think I'm sold. I took a better look at the actual environments. The new trailer shows off the ice planet and water planet levels and they looked amazing. What held me back originally was that I had no attachment to the game since I never played the original unlike Legend of Zelda: OoT. I asked myself should I even buy another remake, especially since it doesn't have online (annoyance about Xenoblade was playing a part as well) but I'm looking at this wrong I feel in the end. It looks like a great game that should have some replayability. Also clearly some effort went into this. So I put in my pre-order.

I did notice something else. During some of the scenes in the trailer the sky in the background looks full. Like other pilots besides you team are fighting out there. Did the N64 version have this in the background?

TalkBack / Re: Modern Warfare 3 Officially Confirmed for Wii
« on: August 07, 2011, 09:31:50 AM »
Since the Wii version is said to be different (compared to them in the past trying to make sure the Wii version was as similar as possible as the PC/360/PS3 versions) I wonder if they might just combine content from Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 (at least single player wise) but keep the multiplayer purely MW3.  Clearly the Wii this time around isn't going to be able to replicate, even downgraded, all the content from MW3.  I doubt they'll make content exclusively for the Wii but there is a whole other game that didn't release on it in the past that they can pull from.

If the Wii version really is different I might just have to double dip at some point. :( The PC version first and then the Wii version sometime later when it's dropped in price. Unless the Wii version looks surprisingly good then I might just skip the PC version and use that money toward another game.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Dragon Quest X still coming to Wii....
« on: July 13, 2011, 10:35:55 PM »
Square-Enix really should have gone with Sony. There are more then enough PS3s out there in Japan and the rest of the world that it still would have been a massive hit in Japan. Even if the numbers weren't there initially (for the system at the beginning) they had to think they would have improved and Sony wouldn't do what they could to get them up over the long term.

Nintendo has done nothing to foster RPGs on the Wii in preparation for this game. The ones they do have they sat on for a long time (after they released in Japan) and when they do put them out they ignore their largest market. The Nintendo/SE partnership is questionable anyway I feel. SE uses the DS as a dumping ground for remakes to make some cash after sinking tons of money into their HD games and PSP games. Nintendo just laps it up while they keep pushing an IP, that they don't own, that clearly isn't embraced by the west and likely never will be. The whole DQ push I feel has been a utter waste of time and money.

Ah. So Rhythm Heaven is a mini-game collection.  ::)

That really is a loss for Nintendo, especially having a more Multi-platform friendly system coming.  How long till they stop becoming the Icon of gaming?

I know I'm just one person and what I feel or do really doesn't matter in the scheme of things. Nintendo won't hurt or even know. Just wanted to post my feelings on the situation.

221
This certainly does suck. As I said before it will affect how I go about the Wii U. I've calmed down from my initial reaction last night but this was to be expected. Like many companies it's all about the money with Nintendo but I think this does hurt their credibility some when it comes to the Wii U. For the longest time I've looked to my Nintendo consoles as my primary ones. Foolish I know but I happen to like their IPs more so then any other company. Have since the NES. Though no longer. Will I write off Nintendo completely? I don't think so after thinking things over. However they will no longer take a prominent spot in my gaming. They've moved down the list in terms of the console space.

I'll get the Wii U when there are enough games on it that warrant the purchase. Until then I'll be focusing more on my PS3, 360, 3DS, PC. Do I trust Nintendo? No. Perhaps I shouldn't have as I'm just a number to them in the grand scheme of things. If I boycott it will mean nothing. So I'll still buy Zelda as I like Zelda. Will I mod my system to play these games now? I don't think so. To much trouble to do something I shouldn't have to. I simply don't care any longer. Will I hope the Wii U does well? Nah. What happens to it happens to and it's on Nintendo's head. I no longer feel any "desire" to support them. Maybe I never should have. I'll buy the products that are out and that will be that. I'll no longer hope for anything from them.

222
It's coming down to that for many people I think. However I'm getting to the point that if I have to do this in the end it gets close to killing any chances of me picking up a Wii U unless it can be modded as well. I don't believe NoA will do right by the core gamers Nintendo says it wants back. Actions speak louder then words.

And Nintendo of America fails once again, as usual.  Remind me, again, why we should believe a single word NoA says about "bringing back the core market" with the Wii U?

This right here. At the moment I couldn't care less about the Wii U. I certainly don't believe a damn word coming from Nintendo regarding it. Actions speak louder then words and with how Nintendo of America is acting, the main branch I'll have to deal with, I see plenty of reasons not to look forward to the Wii U.
