TalkBack / Re: Bionic Commando: Rearmed Devs Resurface
« on: April 18, 2010, 06:06:56 PM »

My point is that I played the hell out of that game, and after about 4 hours (learning how to use the arm), I loved every minute of it.

exactly, I own the retail version, got it out the bargain bin for 5 bux. Once you learn that arm, your killing and cursing, but it takes a special kind of gamer to do that, like the kind aforementioned by Rize and noted by Lindy....."Open Minded"

I'm glad this crew could get back together and I hope they learned from what they did Good and bad on their previous attempts.

Any time new studios are opened is a good time for the industry we love....

With all of this rock solid proof that Nintendo has to show why there #1.....

I wonder why do most of us have problems "Justifying" why we own or play the Wii..??...

I don't really care, powerups in 3D Mario don't matter nearly as much as they do in 2D Mario, in 3D they're just a cheap way to change the gameplay style of one level.....

Yup! you hit it on tha nose..

And like Broodwars said it's a cool design and will look nice on a "Mario Power-up Compilation Poster" for 300 coins in Club Nintendo, but it will be like Boo Mario, cool for those two times you use it but easily forgettable..

No Deadly Creatures, No House of the Dead Overkill? Two good games.

Lets keep in mind that they had to DECLARE these games to be their BEST/favorite of the year, not  the "boy did I like that one" game of the year.

HAA HA HA!!

I laugh at you all, FINALLY it pays off! Green Day was the band that interested me into Alternative Rock in the first place, HA HA!

My favorite band of all time is getting the treatment it deserves. I'm going to play Dookie till my hands cramp!

Rolling Stone, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, THE BEATLES...HAA HA HA, Curse you and your good taste in music, see where it has gotten you? Now watch me as I run to the store and spend my hard earned money on playing one album and a few "good" songs  that I already air gutar to  while you wait for a more worthy purchase.. HA..ha..ahem..wait??..??

I just hope it has more to offer than simply 3D, but I guess we'll find out as E3.

Well that goes without saying, but i don't understand why this is constantly pointed at...

Despite having just launched the Nintendo DSi XL in North America, the company is already looking forward to the release of the new handheld.
Nintendo isn't new to overlapping and definitely not new to the handheld market. The average DS purchaser has no clue about this announcement, any of us on this site or the type of people that tracks this type of stuff are far from average.

The #1 concern of Nintendo is the Japanese market and this hand held will do GANGBUSTERS in JP because after the re-stagger the pricing, because this will not be over $199, and the rest of the world, about the 20 to 30 million people that make up most of their profit share, will have to have the NEW NEW.......

Though it was a good HD release, unlike DV, but I think Bioshock Zero could be re-imagined as a top down Ikari Warriors shooter with MetroVania maps and exploration.

With the knowledge of Kingdom Hearts 3 being realized as we speak, I'm sure that the.......

"Long awaited, previously scrapped and re-imagined Pinocchio level"

will be announced close to that games release.

Welcome to the 21st century Nintendo.....

Until I discovered Nintendos Zipcode tool, I couldn't purchase Wii points with my credit card through the shop channel because I live in Japan using an American Wii on a Military installation and the system isn't made to "recognize" regular FPO addresses. Paying 25 bux for 2000 points was sickening to my stomach and quite retarded might I add.

Nintendo is the creator and OWNER of all things Nintendo, not being able to purchase Wii points directly from them is confusing, imagine if we could only purchase iPhone/iPod Apps from Best Buy......

I'm in complete agreeance with TJ Spyke, put all that stuff up there but lets add some type of SALE once in a while.

and Zoltan might be on to something by mentioning the 3DS, by making this real world currency, this might be setting up the possibility of getting around the console tied DSi/WiiWare/VC so you can transfer those to your NEW DS system if you own them already and now they'll be tied to an Nintendo account.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Announces Nintendo 3DS
« on: March 23, 2010, 03:55:37 AM »
3DS...... I'll bet money that that is the name of the system, I remember when Nintendo announced the DS and I thought "well that's too obvious DS is just Dual Screen" But that "DS" name ='s $$Dolla Dolla Bill Yall$$

But this sounds just right, Nintendo just shrunk the GameCube technology and I bet that was for this handheld.

GameCube graphics, six axis motion control, magical 3D screens, scratch proof screen, 3 megapixel camera, SD card slot, 15 gig internal hard drive, future proof(compatible with new Wii)........

Well I've been doing used games back when a chain called "Funcoland" existed. With that said I enjoy the used games market. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, was stationed in Oceanside, California, Yuma, Arizona and Jacksonville, North Carolina. All of which I frequent there stores. Each of them had 4 different stores that I shopped at. 70% of the time it was a " less than favorable" experience. Yes good companies can have bad employees but there is too much of a trend.

There are too many bad experiences shared amongst gamers, but that's it.....GAMERS. We know better, we expect better. You can't convince a vehicle mechanic he needs to by synthetic oil for his 87 Chevy or it wont "run right", but Sally Nonobetta takes it hook line and sinker. Until mothers of America feel like there not getting good service, they wont change........

But what else do you all think is happening but not discussing..........
If Nintendos "DEMO" service was worth any thing or at least somewhat mirrored PS3/XBOX 360's service, would Lindy ever had to go into Gamestop????? We can only wonder........

TalkBack / Re: Sakamoto Comments on Metroid Dread
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:47:55 AM »
Sadly Nintendo has figured out that just pumping out games for old school hard-nosed gamers like us, doesn't flow along with their marketing aproach as of late. We want NEW Super Metroid but Nintendo knows that doesn't equal $ca-ching$. 100,000 sold is not a sucsess for a historic top tier
Nintendo franchise. We have to be ready to deal with that but we should know that they won't completly piss away our beloved Samus.

The DS Metroid time is over... period. DS 2.0 HD plus motion WILL have Metroid announced on it's release schedule.

I enjoy what Sakamoto-San has been saying about the Metroid series as a whole. A hand held version is too much to think about for now. Nintendo wants to see how does adding more of a story element to Metroid does and if the reception is good, and it will be, then I think we can expect a handheld version to launch with or around the NEXT more powerful Nintendo handheld iteration that will be able to handle more voice acting.

I toned down the chapter breaks this week, but I still used one for every new topic.  Hopefully this was a bit better for people.

Read my lips, MORE CHAPTER BREAKS! But seriously, I really appreciate the time that goes into editing all that stuff. I get all giddy for the screen shots that pop up on my iPhone with each topic.

TalkBack / Re: EA Earns $125 Million From EA Sports Active
« on: March 04, 2010, 04:56:57 PM »
As an owner of both Wii Fit and EA Active I do believe it(Active) to be is a solid title. Sadly I don't think the sales reflect people working out. I think EA, and Nintendo for that matter, did a great job at selling the latest and greatest "fat reducing" machine.

You know who bought this game? Mommy that seen it at Wal-Mart nest to all the other happy people plastered in the adds "having fun", some dude that gets told "hey! all you do is sit in front of the T.V., play games and get fat", Health/Workout nuts that want their families to embrace what they do(me) and EA was mostly bought by those that bought Wii Fit and said "(nagging voice) it don't work!)

The amount of dollars people spend on gimmicky workout tools are reflected here; electronic ab machine, pills that lets you "eat what you want", exercise machines that hang you up side down? Millions are spent on these. I think they stroke the perfect chord with the perfect demographic that the Wii is advertised to. But if they think they'll find ANY head way on the 360 with some work out stuff, then here comes a rude awakening. Natal ain't about to bring that demographic over to the 360 and the slim chance of it happening with the PS3(slim ha ha... sorry) will only come from the family that uses that machine in the front living room to play HD movies.

.................. something clever........... :-X

*Sigh* :'(

The more I learn about how the podcast or rather this site in general is put together the more I fall in love with it. The fact that this site is ran off of pure dedication to good journalism, factual information, unbiased criticism, and a true love and respect of all aspects of gaming makes me proud of just being able to be apart of it and the experience I get out of it.

I relate the ability to have an openly opinionated forum like this, that you all provide, to the same reason I  serve my country. So we all may have our own opinions.

I'm sure you get plenty of praise from all of my fellow Nintendites that enjoy all the things that NWR brings to us but I do want to take this time to truly thank the entire NWR Staff and the intelligent fans that make this, in my opinion, the best online gaming community out there......PERIOD

As dicussed in the begining of the show, When I first start listening to RFN the John, Johnny, Jonathan, thing drove me absolutely nutZ! When I wanted to comment and write in, I had no idea who was who. I thought they were THREE different dudes and having James Jones didn't make it any easier with all them DAMN J's.

But now I feel like there my best friends locked inside of my iPhone......

For some reason I'm having trouble getting excited for the game, no doubt I'll really enjoy it. But I'm kind of getting tired of collecting stars, and I had hoped that maybe they were changing that with this. Oh well, I'll be getting it anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter!

I feel the exact same, but I think this feeds in to Nintendo not changing/improving things and we still eat it up just because it has Mario on it. I must admit, I am part of the PROBLEM.

But I need the Wii to keep on truckin, how the hell am I going to add on another console to my arm?

Well i don't have anything overwhelming to say but it shows that all of our hearts are in to this franchise and we don't want our feelings hurt. The time for growth and change is now. We cant have a fourth "Prime type" game.

Nintendo may have heard how much we drool over Super Metriod and it's GBA adaptions. Team Ninja is surely aware of that as well but also wants to please us AND turn this franchise into a gangbusters title. So now that the third person shooter is the new "side scroller" This is how they stay close to the roots and introduce Samus to Super Mario RPG platforming LOL...

One thing we may see is some slight tweaks for the first time in a long time from Nintendo. They usually sow us finished projects that we shall see no change from but just maybe by getting this out to public scrutiny B4 E3, the control issue may be"elaborated" on in the future. Let's at least wait till our trusty NWR sidekicks gets there hands on it and give us some more insight on the game.

I never Know how to end these.............

Wii controller held on its side better replicates the NES pad?  Paying $0.25 on the dollar for Wii points and having over 14,000 points on account?

Touche! But how dos one become so balleriffic in Wii points? I havent seen the Wii points section in Sam's Club?
