I'd prefer clean 2D to junky 3D, but a Golden Sun is a Golden Sun.

Agreed, but it will probably look better on the smaller screen.

You'd hope so. It didn't really spoil my enjoyment of the game back in the day but it would be great to have all out N-bomb matches with no slowdown.

Accoding to IGN PD will be released in the NA winter in 1080p. Apparently it is otherwise a straight port.
IGN report

EDIT 9/6: Pefect Dark may not be a vanilla port after all. Electric Theatre says that:
- the dev studio (4J Studios) is the one responsible for the Banjo-Kazooie port on 360
- they are going to convert the game to 1080p
- improve the frame rate
- redo some of the textures
- Online Multiplayer for 4 players
- split screen co-op play (retained from the original)
      - not confirmed whether there is online co-op

I'm not surprised to hear that a new Zelda is in the works but if they don't have anything to show now then it probably won't be released until another two years or so. Still, it is good to know it is coming eventually.

Yes except you'll have the awkward decision as to whether to purchase Zelda on Wii w/ motion plus or Wii 2 w/ tacked on head tracking and hologrammophonic controls. And a mirrored world of course.

Silly UncleBob you need the Nintendo Official FingerTrap Device to access the new content directly to your synapses.

Also, Reggie said they can't reveal Retro's project at this E3 :(

Can't or don't want to? ;)

well I'm going to bed for a nap before Sony's conference. I will rejoin the peanut gallery soon.

Wii Sports archery looked like so much fun. This is the first time I've been really excited for Wii Sports 2 since it was announced.

Eh the games shown were nearly all good but whoever makes the trailers needs to inject a bit of vigour next time. Most of them seemed flat.

90
I missed the Metroid trailer, what did it look like? Did it have a 3D perspective or 2D?

It is a behind the back 3D game.

At times it looked side scoller ish

91
So what do we think about Golden Sun's makeover?

92
what the ****!!!!!

93
Galaxy 2 looked awesome. Some of the locales looked pretty spacious!

Iwata wants games to get so relaxing (boring) that we can fall asleep to them?  :)

Iwata should never speak. Microsoft actually did well with the lack of pie charts sales talk.

I bought this 2 days ago. I am having so much fun with it, I've barely been able to put it down. The game looks huge and on medium / normal it has provided a fair challenge at times (damn poisonous frogs!). LKS is clearly Pikmin inspired, whilst still being its own game. The battles are fun and involve detecting patterns, watching for visual cues to avoid impending attacks. My minions have quite a bit of personality, they are always making noises and I really like the animations. The dialogue with the townsfolk isn't anything special, in fact it is quite repetitive, but the writing in the letters that the King receives in the suggestion box are often quite witty. Howser, the advisor, is hilarious and I'm finding myself questioning his morals quite frequently!

The lack of a Pikmin style usage of the c-stick is annoying especially when I'm trying to get up the ramps that I have constructed. Some little pin always seems to get stuck which involves going back down and retrieving the little rascal. Reading the manual, it does seem as though there will be a formation that I will eventually earn that will allow single file travel.

There are no IR or waggle controls at all, so far. IR would have been fantastic for aiming my throws when attacking enemies, digging up treasures etc.

Hopefully the US version gets 480p because it is quite noticeable but again I'm having too much fun with it to care much! World domi...I mean...uh, kingdom expansion... has never been this much fun!

edit: Dasmos: LKS is $50 at gametraders now.

And here comes the death of Ian's weird obsession with Mario's voice.  New Super Mario Brothers is the best-selling Mario title of all time, even beating the legendary Super Mario Bros. 3, and Mario has his golden voice all through it.  You may personally not like the voice, but it has had zero impact on sales or reviews or even Mario's perception as an image of quality.

I thought that SMB 1 and SMW were still ahead? Although I suppose they were both bundled at some stages so it's not really apples with apples.
