NWR Mafia Games / Re: Mafia XXXI: It's Official. It's a reset.
« on: February 10, 2009, 06:39:11 PM »
Ah well. This is disappointing! I miss the first day and then find out I've been compromised by my own godfather (thanks Spak ;p) but then get told we can reset. Sounds great but I don't think that resets are in the spirit of the game; you take the cards you're dealt (and then complain loudly at game's end :) ).

I love split screen and this is a real dampener. My favourite combo now is online that allows guests. Playing Halo 3 with my brother online against others is great fun. I'm not sure why other games eg CoD don't do it too.

So, um, why do the "hardcore" people ignore the games from the fall conference?

Fixed.

That is a good question. I'd love to find out more about those NEW IPs like Dynamic Slash and the one set in space..

The reason these games are ignored (read: forgotten) is that we know next to nothing about them. We need to be thrown a bone in order to chew.

General Chat / Re: Game Over: One final rant...

Wow, a long weekend is a long time in forum life, it seems.

I really enjoyed the majority of Bill's posts, especially the intelligent enthusiasm he displayed for Nintendo. It was only after reading PGC forums (and so many posts of his) back in 2002 that I bought a GC, bringing an end to my stay in the gaming wilderness that had begun after I completed Majora's Mask.

As for Mario, the best experience I have ever had in an online game came with a multi hour session of 2 player online brawl. I thank him for that. I think the ban is extremely harsh, the guy was the king of irreverent sarcasm and I never took his comments too seriously. Also Aussie bias prevents me from speaking ill of him.

Yeah, the new single is pretty bad.  However I really liked "Vertigo", and then purchased the album only to find it was one of the worst things I've ever wasted money on in my life.  So maybe this new album will be the opposite?

Ugh, Vertigo was like an even worse version of The Vines - Get Free.

I have joined the sadness as instructed, please spare a thought for my BillGates360, which has descended into the depths of hell amid flashing red lights.

My 360 just RRoD'd for the 2nd time. I knew I should have got Fallout on PS3

Meh, console versions cost too much (and wasn't the PS3 version buggier?), get it for the PC.

Yep the PS3 version was/is supposedly buggier which is why I got it for 360, even though my 360 was giving off a death rattle esque sound. I've only got a Mac and apparently Fallout doesn't run on OS X, otherwise i would have got it on the computer.

I'm impressed that the Wii already has more games than the GC. And except for Zelda the sequels have all done a lot better than their GC counterparts.

This is sad news indeed. TS2 was one of my favourite games of last gen. I thought it was strange that Haze's multiplayer was turned off so quickly, it must have been 3 months ago now.

Hopefully the dev team that rises from FR's ashes focuses on making FPS's for Wii. A TS game with Metroid Prime 3 controls would be pretty special.

True, but I see some potential. Deadly Creatures, House of the Dead, Madworld, Kororinpa 2, and Pro Evo 2009.

Pro Evo is already out.

What the hell. The Aussie Club Nintendo was 'prepped' when Mario Kart came out. It is still in the preparation stage.

Sporcle is the greatest site ever, have a go at the Mario game quiz.

I'm probably going to get this if it comes here (or I can get a cheap US cop). Although apparently the JP version didn't allow inversion of camera controls. Major turn off.

That isn't the point...The point is that we need to be doing more to prevent our own era's species from going extinct than to bring back old ones...

Or we could let them die out and then bring them back using the magic of science!

THANKS, with that summary I've learned NOTHING NOTHING about HOW IT PLAYS.

Unless you love 'pointless meandering' as much as I do.

Is that giant clock visible all the time that you're outside? That thing is hideous.

It appears if you stand still for a few seconds, and aren't fishing...

Ah good, that's a relief.

Or maybe it's just a horrible idea and he prefers the series be remembered for the greatness that was season one (i.e. the only good one).

You're delusional! You really should watch season 3.

General Gaming / Re: Official Fallout 3 Thread
« on: November 22, 2008, 09:25:33 PM »
It's cool, but I never used it. I first saw it during the Superhuman Gambit quest. If I do a second playthrough with bad karma, I plan on putting skill points into unarmed, so I'll probably use it then.

Pretty sure it would fall under Melee not Unarmed.

The PS3 version (mine) has an annoying bug where the action just pauses whenever a message from the system pops up onscreen, like "Bob is online." Then, five seconds later, "Bob is offline." It's annoying!

Probably best to turn off your notifications via the XMB while playing Fallout.

Does anyone else have the Ripper yet? Is that not the best weapon ever?

The words 'high hopes' and 'Sonic' shouldn't be allowed in the same sentence/ paragraph / thread.
