No Community support?  I guess the Worldwide Online Communities are unique to MK7 multiplayer.

TalkBack / Re: Heroes of Ruin Preview
« on: March 26, 2012, 07:29:38 PM »
The "Gameplay Introduction" video on the eShop covers some of this and more (check it out if you haven't seen it yet).  I am surprised this preview didn't mention that the game supports voice chat.

n-Space Senior Producer - Tim Schwalk (12/2011):
"It’s so easy to  jump into an online game and not only play with your friends, but chat with them as well. In Heroes of Ruin, you can even play games with “strangers”, complete with voice chat if the parental settings on your  console allow it. There are no difficult hoops to jump through or crazy  restrictions. Nintendo did an outstanding job with the 3DS, and Heroes of Ruin is going to be THE game to get to show off the connectivity  options of the system."

The game also supports connectivity to your profile on the game website:
"you will be able to link your game profile with your web account. This will give you a vast number of cool features that we can’t go into just yet, but one of those will be leaderboards. You’ll be able to see your position, your friends and the people at the top. Our query is on the criteria that would be used to rank you. You’ll be able to see who’s killed the most enemies, who’s spent the most gold, but there’s one category we’re not sure whether to include - time."

TalkBack / Re: Epic Mickey Sequel Coming to Wii, Is a Musical

I am both very surprised and disappointed that there is no Wii U version.  I was hoping they would have been developing the game ground up for the Wii U platform and then port down to the other consoles.

I ordered my copy directly from NOA, I never ever have fun when I go into a Gamestop.

I also ordered directly from Nintendo.  I haven't walked into a Gamestop in years.

That was fun.  It was just Oohhboy (plus lvl 50 weapons of mass destruction) and myself and we played through Raid Mode for about 3-4 hours.  Caterkiller showed up for a bit, but had not unlocked raid mode yet. Insanolord and Neal showed up to chat with us in IRC.

I am surprised that after being available for three days, this trash is still available to download.  Even worse - people are falling for this scam and purchasing it.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Zen Pinball (3DS eShop)
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:07:36 PM »
So, after much debate, I decided to download this one.  Initially, I wasn't too happy about the table being scrunched up on one screen, but it's not that bad.  Out of the 8 views available, I have found "view 6" to works best for me.

Overall, I am actually quite impressed with Zen Pinball.  The Excalibur table is by far my favorite with Earth Defense a close second.  The leaderboards with friend list integration will keep me coming back for more.  Hopefully, the developer comes through and provides additional tables to download.

TalkBack / Re: Iwata Hints at Possible DLC Content for Mario
« on: February 08, 2012, 12:04:44 AM »
Would it even be possible for them to have DLC Mario3D?

Not unless Nintendo added in the hooks for the games to look for add-on content/software patches.  I am pretty sure that they did not do this during the development of their current batch of first party titles.  A missed opportunity - especially for MK7.  New tracks and a patch to eliminate the Wuhu Loop glitch would have been nice.

The game developer just needs to patch the software.

It's too bad that the tables are not shared between both the top and bottom screens (Pinball Pulse) instead of crammed into the top screen only.  I think that I'll be sticking with Pinball Pulse.

BTW, Zen Pinball is free in the Apple App Store with one table.  Could we have had at least an eShop demo?

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Has No Plans to Fix Mario 3D Kart Glitch
« on: January 16, 2012, 11:17:00 PM »
I suspect the problem is just with Nintendo in-house developed titles where Nintendo is not adding in the hooks to software patch after release.

There are plenty of Wii games that have received proper software patches (Black Ops, MW3, Conduit 2) for single and multiplayer and it works very well.  This is because the developers put in those hooks during the game development.

I suspect you will see many third-party 3DS titles with the proper hooks for software patching.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: The Official 3DS System Friend Code Thread
« on: January 16, 2012, 09:14:43 PM »
Hello all,
I have a new (replacement) 3DS. As such, I have a new friend code:

I thought the 3DS system code carried over to a replacement system???

Someone said in another thread that he received a replacement 3DS and the system code carried over.  He didn't have to send out a new code to everyone and make all friends re-register him.

TalkBack / Re: No Tiger Woods on Wii This Year
« on: January 10, 2012, 06:57:39 PM »
Does anyone want to speculate on how a golf game could be pulled off on the Wii U's tablet controller? Or would it have to use the Wiimote?

Nintendo has already demonstrated how a golf game would control on the Wii U (E3 2011).

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Updates NOW available in E-shop games

That is terrible that the "Updates" feature is broken.  I've been checking "Updates" for months only to find that it's broken.  5 3DS system menu updates and they haven't caught it yet.

The Nintendo Funhouse Radio stream has not been available the last few days.  Has the funhouse radio been discontinued?

Also, why is there no ability to reply to replies to one of your own messages?
or even to someone else's?

you get to reply once. What if we want to hold a conversation based on that original message?

Not being able to reply to a note thread you started and only allowed one reply to someone else's note thread is a big oversight/design flaw.  I hope a future software update will remedy this.

Is it true there going to be updating it with a feature were you can download user created levels?

Apparently, future updates depend on how many people purchase the game.
